D. Shane Ragan, DDS, is a lifelong resident of Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. He attended Indianola High School and after graduation, entered Northeastern State University, Tahlequah where he graduated cum laude with a BS degree in biology in 2002.
University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry Dr Ragan earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. Following graduation, Dr. Ragan completed a 1 year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry offered by the University of Oklahoma. This included extensive classroom education and treatment of patients using advanced techniques and materials for the placement and restoration of dental implants, treatment and management of patients with dental anxiety and dental phobia, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, advanced cosmetic dentistry (including porcelain veneers and porcelain crowns), and treatment of advanced periodontal disease.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Ragan completed a second 1 year residency offered by the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City. This residency provided advanced training in all aspects of general practice, including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral diagnosis, treatment planning, endodontics and exposure to pedodontics and both aspects of implant dentistrysurgery and restoration. A hospital-based program, it provided valuable experience treating medically compromised patients and provided broad knowledge and skills to meet the needs of patients.
After completion of his professional training, Dr. Ragan returned to McAlester in 2009 to establish his dental practice. He enjoys spending free time with his wife Wendy and their son Bryce. He also enjoys working on his familys ranch, and hunting and fishing.
Hunter received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2017. Hunter lives in McAlester with his wife, Brawna and two sons, Tuff and Knox. When not in the office he enjoys hunting and ranching with his family.

Gets me in when I have an emergency, and Dr. Ragan is always friendly and helpful. Usually don't even feel the pokes for the needles. That is a plus in my book!

Never had my teeth cleaned with the water cleaner thingy it's always been the grindy and noisy cleaning tools and Ragan's hygentist introduced me to this and I absolutely LOVED the experience. She was AWESOME! Highly recommend this place :)

I just recently had to have some work done and doctor Ragan is just absolutely amazing and every member on his staff are incredible! I've never been in a cleaner dentist's office and I've never been around nicer people in my life and the prices are great and the care that you receive is top of the line as well as quick & prompt! They always make me feel so comfortable! I had a horrific experience at My Dentist and Dr. Ragan helped me get over my fear of dentists because of what happened to me at My Dentist! This is honestly the best dentist I have ever been too. He was very understanding about my tooth issues and very kind to me. Wonderful staff too. Thank you Ragan Family dentist. The payment breaks you give for people without insurance is such a true blessing without it I would have had to just deal with my tooth pain and it made me cry how amazing this plan is and how much it saves you. I will never go to any other dentist.

I was scared about going to the dentist but while there the ladies take time in talking to you explaining step by step in what they are doing. And when the dentist comes in the room he'll talk to you about what he saw on your x-rays and then show you and step by step he'll explain everything that needs to be done and which way you'll be comfortable in doing for your self.So thank you and your staff in making me feel at ease
