Hello everyone. I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with distinction which I attended on a scholarship. I went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and earned my DMD.
After graduation, I spent the summer volunteering in Costa Rica and Nicaragua where I treated and educated patients in poverty-struck areas. I have great memories of my time there, including the time I tripped over a pig and fell into the mud when trying to walk to the bathroom (outhouse) in the dark!
I then moved to Fresno for my residency. I spent a year at the VA Hospital of Fresno treating our Veterans. I learned a lot during my time here, not only becoming better technically and skill-wise but also learning how to become a well-rounded clinician. Hearing the stories of my patients and their life experiences reinforced that patients are more than X-Rays and Teeth. School never taught me about patient care and I am grateful for the experience I had during this time. The patients and my amazing clinical director, Dr. James Carbone, helped me to become a better clinician and a better person. Patients are vulnerable and trusting me to take care of them. It is a huge responsibility and I sleep well at night knowing deep in my heart that I consider every patient like family and give it my all to treat everyone with the respect and care they deserve.
After my time in Fresno, I practiced in Bakersfield, CA for one year. My home has always been the Bay Area so I decided to transfer to the Gentle Dental in Palo Alto. After many years there (and meeting a lot of very great people), I took a job with AZ Dental in San Jose. When AZ was then bought out by EZ and I found myself working for a new company!
During all these years, patients always told me to open my own office. The timing was never right. Now in 2020, I am not sure if the time is right, but I decided to take the plunge. Please join me at my new practice!

Outstanding care! Dr. Thai is caring, gentle and thorough. She is very honest with exam evaluations and all options that a patient can choose. My long time dentist of 35+ years retired 6 years ago and it has been very challenging to find a new doctor with the same high standards that I had become accustomed to. After several bad experiences with 3 other offices I have finally found someone I can trust.

Since coming to the bay area for work 15 years ago, I've seen quite a few dentists in the first 5 years. The frequent switch was a result of my dissatisfaction with one or more of the following pain points: incompetency (sometimes led to rework which was painful) due to lack of training/practice; excessive costs due to aggressive recommended services; lack of passion and has no motivation for continuous improvement. As an engineer I have a desire and pursuit for perfection, and I once doubted if it was unrealistic to find a dentist with all success criteria until I met Dr. Thai about 10 years ago. She's the exact opposite of the things listed above: Received education from one of the nation's top dental schools, and highly skillful in many specialties in the world of dentistry; has a positive mentality, honest & frank in a friendly way, and always tries to explain the procedure in detail and sets the right expectation; jumps out of the comfort zone and continues to learn new skills by joining study groups and attending conferences during her spare time; most importantly, Dr. Thai truly cares about the patients, treat them as friends and tries to make decisions based on their best interests. If not impossible, I think it's challenging to find all these virtues on a single dentist. In the past 10 years, my family (2 adults and 3 kids) has been solely relying on her to maintain our dental health. My personal dental case is very complex, and I need a lot of procedures done over a long timespan. Dr. Thai lays out a conservative plan to preserve my natural teeth as much as possible, which I truly appreciate. My son once fell and broke his teeth & lip badly. I had to call Dr. Thai on a weekend and see if she could help by any chance. She immediately prioritized our needs at the time of emergency, and came in to treat my son with several stitches and a splint. To me, Dr. Thai is not just a dentist. She's more like a relative, part of a big family that helps take care of each other. I've followed Dr. Thai from Palo Alto, to Saratoga, and now to San Jose. I have no hesitation to recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who's looking for a great dentist. Look no further.

If you're like me then you love when you find an amazing doctor, real estate agent, auto mechanic, etc. Someone you can trust with the most important things in life. Dr. Trang Thai is a truly special dentist and a genuinely compassionate person. She has been my dentist for several years and I would go anywhere in the Bay Area to continue to be seen by her. She always goes out of her way to thoroughly explain the insurance charges to maximize my coverage benefits, so that I have best experience and smile. If you need a dentist or your dentist is just OK then I highly recommend you go see Dr. Thai. Her and her staff are the BEST!!!

Dr. Thai at Radiant Dental is awesome! I have had a series of dental procedures over the last six months and everyone was smooth. I have had some really scary experiences with previous dentist, so I was nervous the first time I went to Radiant. By my third appointment I was so relaxed, I almost fell asleep in the chair. Dr. Thai has given me two crowns and a deep cleaning and I could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend Radiant Dental!

The best dental visit I have ever had in the bay area. Thank you, Dr. Thai, for saving my cracked tooth! The dental office is beautifully decorated. The team is very efficient. Dr. Thai is very kind and friendly. She diagnosed my issue quickly and explained everything clearly. After a short wait, she quickly and gently put a crown on my cracked tooth. Everything from examination to the dental work was completed in under 2 hours. She also personally called to check up on me the day after my dental visit. What a caring doctor!

I have had bad experiences with dentist everytime I nees to go to the dentist I get super anxious and my anxiety sky rockets. Today I had to have a root canal I was super scared! Dr. Michelle and her assistant Jessica made me feel at ease the shot didnt hurt at all! They kept asking if I was doing OK. I know root canals can be pain full but I didnt feel any pain, they were very therow in cleaning out my tooth, made sure the root was clean and that they got everything out. I was on nitrous oxide and that helped me relax along with them talking to me and asking if was ok. I would highly recommend going to this office. The front desk also seemed very nice and friendly. If you need dental work I would definitely go here, I will continue to keep going here for my dental work.
