What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.
When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.
To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so please follow instructions.

We were very pleased that we chose this clinic. From the first meeting with Dr. Rad, we realised that he is an excellent specialist and expert in his field and keeps up with the latest technologies. We have already started treatment and visited several offices (Potomac and College Park). The offices are clean, well equipped and the staff is very professional, friendly and attentive. We hope that all our further treatment will be in the same positive, and will bring us the desired result. Highly recommend.

We have had a great experience at Rad Orthodontist. Dr. Rad is caring, kind and professional. He listens to his patients' needs and problems plus, always tries to find a perfect solution for a best outcome. My son and I both had a treatment done with him. I am 53 and took a big risk but could not be happier. He gave me a beautiful smile and a new sense of confidence. I am glad I had a chance to have met such a nice person. And the staff are awesome too. Great Job Rad Orthodontist!!

Amazing experience so far. Was in desperate need for a new orthodontist due to my daughters relocation. The doctors virtual consult was thorough and very assuring. I look forward to meeting them in the office in the next few weeks . Will review again, but I already know it will be a positive experience!

The entire Rad Team deliver an amazingly unique and unparalleled patient experience!!! Stephanie, Mallory , were fantastic ortho technicians ! They were always friendly, and professional. They even laughed at my jokes even when they weren't funny. Courtney, and Dory were always so polite in helping resolve any administrative issues I had . And were very accommodating of my busy schedule and my relocation to California during final phase of my treatment . Dr. Rad is great. He is conservative, which I like, and doesn't suggest something unless it is really needed. When my daughter had a problem with her expander, I had to call him at home in the middle of the night and he called me back right away. He was there for us when we needed him.
