Dr. Robert and Dr. Robyn rotate between the San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande offices. Dr. Goldschmidt and Dr. Goldberg work primarily in the Arroyo Grande location. Dr. Martinez works primarily in our San Luis Obispo location. You can expect comprehensive, caring, and compassionate care from all seven of our skilled doctors. We are here to provide outstanding patient care, and we value the trust you have placed in us.
Dr. Robert Flores is originally from Tucson, Arizona and graduated with honors from The University of Arizona. After completing his undergraduate studies, he attended A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine(D.M.D.) degree along with a Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Dr. Robert has a passion for oral health and is a third generation dentist. He stays current with the latest technology and techniques by attending continuing education courses throughout the year.Dr. Robert is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Central Coast Dental Society. He also served as President of the Central Coast Dental Society in 2014 and continues to be an active board member.
Dr. Robert is married to Dr. RobynFlores, a Central Coast native. She is also a dentist and the other 'R' in R&R Dental Care.Outside of dentistry, Dr. Robert spends his time with his wife, two sons, and two dogs. He is a sports enthusiast and life-long fan of University of Arizona athletics. Living here on the Central Coast, Dr. Robert has also become an avid Cal Poly supporter and loves cheering for the Mustangs at their home games. He also enjoys fly fishing, hiking, the beach, and live music.
Dr. Robyn Flores was born and raised on the Central Coast. After graduating from Saint Joseph High School, she went on to receive a B.S. in Biochemistry & Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego. During her time at UCSD, Dr. Robyn was an active member of the UCSD Pre-Dental Society and Free Dental Clinics, helping to provide dental services to the underserved communities in San Diego County.
After college, Dr. Robyn moved to Mesa, Arizona to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) as well as a Certificate in Public Health at A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. While in school, she met her husband, Dr. Robert Flores, and convinced him to move back 'home' to the beautiful Central Coast with her.
Prior to joining R&R Dental Care, Dr. Robyn worked at Community Health Centers of the Central Coast for five years. She provided dental care to underserved populations in clinics throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties and served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty for dental students from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, University of Southern California, and Western University.
Dr. Robyn is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Central Coast Dental Society. She takes extensive continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest dental technologies and treatments. Her passion is improving the community's oral health and helping people smile.
Dr. Eugene Goldschmidt (his friends call him Gene) is a 'Buckeye' and graduated from the Ohio State University, School of Dentistry in 1975. Prior to moving to San Luis Obispo in 2002, Dr. G had a private practice for thirty plus years in Cincinnati, Ohio. He loves his profession and the individuals he works with who share the same passion.
Dr. G has been married to his loving wife, Sheri, for forty-eight years and raised three children together-James, Joni, and Jenifer. He enjoys cooking, motorcycle riding, skiing, gardening, travel, fixing what's broken, and pursuing the quest for the perfect golf swing.
Dr. Martinez completed her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She pursued her dental education at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and did her dental residency at the V.A. on Mare Island in Vallejo, California. She holds active memberships in the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Central Coast Dental Society.
During dental school, Dr. Martinez volunteered in Fiji and with CDA Cares. She was the president of the American Association of Women Dentists chapter on campus and served on the board for the American Student Dental Association, attending their National Leadership Conference.
As a dental professional, Dr. Martinez strives to make dental visits a low stress and comfortable experience by taking the time to educate each patient on optimal oral health and best dental practices. When she is not in the dental operatory, Dr. Martinez loves to stay active, healthy and be outdoors-- hiking, working out, cooking and going to the beach are some of her favorite pastimes.

Awesome staff. Everyone super kind and professional. Super Knowledgeable dentists. Dr. Woodland was super informative. No one likes going to the dentist but these guys make it as painless as possible. Very happy with this practice.

The dental experiences I had in this dental clinc are the worse experiences I had. Yesterday(4/21/2022) I scheduled my teeth cleaning after filling my teethes, a lady told me I only can schedule today 4/22/2022 otherwise I need to wait until December. Today 04/22/2022 I went in the dental place and they found out I already did my teeth cleaning in March. So, I re-scheduled my teeth cleaning. This time the lady Scheduled my teeth cleaning in September. I don't know why the same lady told me that 04/22/2022 is the only day I can choose. Also, when I did my routine check for my teeth, I didn't feel I was very informed what happened to my teeth. I just knew how many teeth in my mouth are captives, but the doctor didn't tell and show me where those damages are until I asked them! The way they services their clients are very difficult to let me trust them

Maybe the best dentist experience I've had to date. The overall experience was great. Everyone's very knowledgeable, professional, and eager to answer any questions you have. It's also very easy to reach someone via phone during business hours - which is a big selling point for myself.

So, the staff, at least some of them, are rude and incompetent. Their record keeping is awful, and then they proceed to tell you that you're wrong about whats going on in your mouth. Dr. Robert Flores doesn't remember conversations you had with him about planned work to be done, and becomes upset if you if you try to tell him otherwise. Would not recommend.

I have had nothing but pleasant experiences at R&R. Their COVID protocol is on point. My hygienist Emily was wonderful and put me at ease. Dr. Robert Flores is awesome and made my exam efficient yet thorough. The office is beautiful...super clean and modern. Thank you all for taking good care of me! See you soon!

Have had nothing but fantastic experiences here!!! I've seen two different dentists and three hygenists and they have all been absolutely fantastic. Soothing reggae music played in the morning makes for a relaxing, less intimidating trip to the dentist. I always leave feeling good, happy, and well-cared for. Dr. Martinez and the wonderful hygenist she works with (that also cleaned my teeth today, I don't know her name but she has a 10 month old and 13 year old) made great conversation when I had my fillings done a few months ago so I never felt uncomfortable. They really take care of you. Beautiful, clean facilities that are very well looked after, impeccable covid safety protocols, wonderful office staff, and clear communication about procedures plus great convo make this the very best dentist office I have ever been to! I'm usually afraid of the dentist so much that I didn't see one for 15+ years. But now that I know how awesome everyone at R & R Dental is, those days are over. I'm a person that goes to the dentist now, thanks to them. Cannot say enough great things about them and hope my insurance takes them forever because I never want to go anywhere else!!!

I sincerely appreciate all the precautions R & R Dental has been taking to keep both patients and staff as safe as possible under the current pandemic conditions. Staff was courteous, professional and attentive. I forgot my night guard and they called me back to return it!

I am an absolute fan of Dr. Flores and his terrific staff of professionals and front desk personnel. The reopening of the clinic since the worst of the pandemic passed has been top notch, well thought out, to keep us all safe and then some. I would look elsewhere. In fact, I did. I write this review not to be mean spirited or vindictive, but because I believe Dr. Flores missed (or may even have caused) a cracked root canal when putting on a poor fitting new crown (it had to be grounded down not once but twice). The cracked tooth led to an infection and the tooth now has to come out and eventually be replaced with an expensive implant. On a positive note, I found Dr. Flores to be very personable. And I found the hygienists and office staff to be very nice as well.

It took me almost half a year to get an "initial evaluation" appointment at R&R. After that the cleaning was scheduled two months out and another month past that for some restoration work. All in all I waited almost a year to get my teeth back on track and then when I came to into get the work done they refused service. Now I am back where I started with another dentist. They are much more interested in your insurance than any measure of professionalism. I had Delta Dental Insurance from Cal Poly as a faculty member and this is how they treated me. Shameful! Think twice about these clowns.

This location is brand new, modern, clean and beautiful on the inside and the whole staff is amazing! Dr. Robert Flores and his assistant were so friendly and welcoming. I went in for a crown and will be going back to have a lot more work done. This is a dentist office that is professional and one you can trust. They really care about you and your health. They even accepted my subpar dental insurance! This is hard to come by in San Luis Obispo. Needless to say I am very pleased with R&R dental.
