Dr. Edward Hudgens received his undergraduate degree (B.S. in Pharmacy) from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. He then went directly to the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, receiving the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1990. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Hudgens completed a two-year residency in General Dentistry at MUSC.
During his two-year residency, he had the opportunity to train in advance techniques in the specialties of endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery and anesthesia. Spending three to four months in each discipline. Dr. Hudgens, then, furthered his education in the area of oral surgery by training two additional years. In 1995, Dr. Hudgens then entered private practice in the West Ashley area of Charleston, SC.
With numerous years of graduate training concentrating on the multiple specialties in dentistry, Dr. Hudgens offers his patients the convenience of meeting almost all their dental needs in one practice. This significantly minimizes the need to refer a patient to an unknown dentist for treatment. This also makes treatment completion easier to accomplish in less time. Our loyal patients have found this to be an incredible service. They are happy to return for treatment each time on one office, where they have come to know everyone and feel at home.
