After graduating from Canisius High School, he attended Canisius College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Gengo earned his DDS from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude. He was awarded the American Association of Endodontics Award, presented to a graduating student demonstrating the greatest ability and interest in the field of endodontics. Dr. Gengo was also awarded the Edwin C. Jauch Award which is presented to a graduating student who completed comprehensive cases reviewed by a panel of judges, who determine which of the cases is most outstanding.
Following graduation, Dr. Gengo began his endodontics residency at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. During his residency, he was awarded the Thomas J. Feidt Scholarship, awarded to a post-graduate student from the Western New York area. He completed his residency in 2015, earning his certificate in endodontics. In 2017, Dr. Gengo earned his most noteworthy accomplishment. He became a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Board certification is achieved by less than 25% of endodontists in the United States.
For the last 7 years, Dr. Gengo has been practicing endodontics full-time in the Buffalo area. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, teaching in the post-graduate endodontics clinic.
He is currently the president of the Fonzi Dental Study Club and is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Board of Endodontics, the New York State Association of Endodontists, the Eighth District Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

I was seen as an emergency consult one day and operated on the next day. Office staff was very informative and friendly. Dr. Genco did a great job on the surgery. He also completely explained the procedure, and gave verbal and written instructions on what to do and not to do following surgery. He followed up with a call the day after surgery to see how I was doing.

My experience and procedure, (root canal) were very positive. The facility was clean. Each staff member I encountered was pleasant and efficient at their job, and Dr. Gengo was wonderful. His calm personable demeaner help me stay relaxed. The actual procedure was painless and performed quickly. I really appreciated the follow up call the next evening to check on me. I would recommend this office to a friend.

Dr Genco and all his staff were very professional and fully explained what was being done which made me very comfortable with the procedure. Dr Genco also personally called me 2 days after my procedure to check on me which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Dr Genco for your dental needs.

Dr Gengo is very knowledgeable and walks you through every step of the way. The office staff is very friendly. The office definitely makes it a point to make sure you are comfortable. I would recommend Queen City to everyone.

My daughter was Dr. Gengo's patient, but I can say that from my observation, this was a really "great" experience. No one wants to get a root canal. But, from the lobby to the exam room, the space was clean and soothing and quiet. Dr. Gengo and his staff were kind and calm and they explained every step of the procedure in terrific detail. My daughter said that the novacain shot was the worst pain, after that, she was completely comfortable I would, based on my third party experience, strongly recommend this practice for your dental needs!

I was extremely nervous about my procedure. But the staff and Dr. Gengo put me at ease. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Gengo explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. It was so much easier than I had anticipated and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing endodontic care. I hope I don't need their services again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to contact them.

I could not have had a more positive experience. Everyone here is so professional and nice and welcoming and they really know their stuff. I'd had problems with my old root canal for years and saw many other endodontists who all told me it was nothing and then it got infected out of nowhere and I was able to get a retreatment that went perfectly. If you have the choice of where to go for your root canal or retreatment, definitely pick Queen City.

Well I made it almost 60 years with put a cavity, but time caught up to me and I had a whopping toothache, and was referred here for a root canal. I was nervous, but they were they gentle, and it was easier that a teeth cleaning. I wish every trip to the dentist went like this. Staff is friendly, I like the Buffalo theme decor. Most of all they clearly have the most modern equipment, and a highly skilled staff. I cannot say enough good about my experience.

My husband had appointments with Dr. Genco for several dental issues. He had the best possible experience with all three issues. The office is convenient, beautiful, exceptionally clean, the staff are friendly, prompt and courteous. Dr. Genco is the best!

I needed to see Dr. Gengo for a root canal, one of those procedures we have all heard horror stories about forever. Well, my anxiety was calmed from the first call to schedule an appointment. I was treated kindly and promptly by his wonderful receptionist who scheduled my appointment to accommodate my schedule. (How nice is that?!) Dr Gengo was on time and allayed my fears with his calm voice and easy demeanor. He explained the entire procedure to me including any potential risks and complications. My root canal was totally painless and I had no need for post operative pain medicine. I'm completely impressed with his entire office and the professionalism by which I was treated. I would recommend Dr Gengo to anyone who needs an Endodontist.

I was terrified!! Of a root canal. Between how nice the office staff are and how amazing Dr. Gengo is I am no longer terrified. Its so weird to say having a root canal was a good experience!! I would not go looking for one but if I ever need another one this is the only place I would go!

Queen City Endodontics did an fantastic job on my root canal. I had a problem over the weekend and left a message and they called my back by 9am on Monday morning and got me in on Tuesday and the doctor did a great job. The so much!

Who among us looks forward to a root canal? Definitely not me after a different experience 20 years ago. This was infinitely better, pleasant people, expedient and competent Doctor and best of all my own choice of background music. Not unpleasant and the only pain was not bad when the area was numbed. It was a less than optimal experience made almost pleasant by everyone there.
