It is a privilege to belong to a profession that offers so many ways to be of service. I have been fortunate to have practiced dentistry in several communities in the 30 years since I graduated. In each of these places I have been welcomed, supported, and feel I have been able to contribute to the betterment of the community.
When I first meet a patient, I encourage them to tell me about themselves. I want to know what theyre seeking in dental care. I also want to know about their worries and their life. Having insight into who the person is, not only their clinical needs, allows me to find the right treatment approach for them. This ensures the best care experience and best results for that person.
I have brought together a team of people who reflect my commitment to quality and care. What sets them apart is that they, like me, listen to you. We want to know your desires and concerns. We genuinely care about you as a person and want to learn who you are.
In the years since I finished my formal schooling, dentistry has only improved. New materials now allow for life-like restorations. Cosmetic dentistry advances allow me to improve a patients confidence and ease in social settings. The art and science of dentistry is changing, as is the technology. It is essential I stay abreast of these changes and what they can provide my patients.
There is a joy in doing something well. By pursuing continuing education, I am able to practice the best dentistry. My involvement in study clubs and mentoring programs allows me to exchange ideas with colleagues and learn from them. Continuing education has fostered creativity in problem solving and treatment planning.
I have participated in advanced dental education with the University of Washington, CRE with John Kois, and at the LVI Institute. Im currently involved with the Puget Sound chapter of Spear Education and their programs in Scottsdale, AZ.
I was born in Chehalis, WA and grew up in north Seattle. In 1976 I married my wife, Lisa. She is my soul mate and life teacher. In our 40 years together, weve raised four great children. They all live close by, allowing for many family gatherings.
I also like digging for razor clams at the beach, salmon fishing anywhere, and sailing when the opportunity arises. Perhaps, though, what I love most is a warm summer evening, a good book, and a glass of red wine in our backyard.
Ive always been passionate about dentistry, even as a small child. I enjoy helping my patients achieve and maintain optimal dental health.I take a multidisciplinary approach to care when addressing my patients dental needs. This allows my patients to achieve their ideal results.
As a dentist, I love that I get to work with a diverse group of people, from toddlers through seniors. Getting to know each on a personal level, and establishing a lifelong relationship with them, is important to me. I believe in actively listening to my patients and encourage them to tell me about their goals and concerns.
I find working with people who have dental anxiety to be particularly rewarding. Together with my team, I help that person work through and overcome their fears. Todays dentistry offers truly painless options and I pay close attention to each persons comfort during their visits. Having a patient thank me, with a happy smile, for making a procedure go smoothly and without discomfort, is truly a fulfillingmoment.
I am passionate about learning and education. Dentistry is a constantly evolving discipline. Advancements in technology, materials, and techniques all mean better care and results for patients. I take my responsibility for my patients oral health seriously. By remaining current through continuing education courses, I ensure Im providing the best care and treatment options.

I like welcoming and talking with our patients. I want each person to feel comfortable and at home during their visits, and to know we are here for them. I handle a variety of front office duties in addition to greeting and checking in patients. My favorite is helping people maximize their dental insurance benefits, so they get the care they need when they need it, without stress. I also handle treatment and financial coordination, billing, and collections.

I have been in dentistry for 13years and enjoy seeing my patients and getting to know them. The one-on-one relationships that are built in a private practice like ours is unlike any other experience you will receive in any other facility. I love being able to share my knowledge of dental hygiene with my patients andI consulteach onehow to care for their own oral hygiene as well as focusing on their needs and what is best for them. I am a kind-hearted, outgoing and caring person that loves what I do and want to share that with my patients.

I enjoy talking with and getting to know each patient. I work hard to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and reassured while theyre here. By listening to a persons concerns, and making sure they understand whats going to happen, I help them relax. I set up our treatment room, then seat and prepare our patient to see the doctor. Working chairside, I support the doctor while telling the patient what were doing and making sure theyre comfortable.
I enjoy getting to know patients on a personal level, learning about their life, family, and interests. The better I understand who they are as a person, the better Im able to help them take control of their smiles health. I take X-rays and perform head and neck exams. I also perform routine and deep cleanings, along with periodontal maintenance. A lot of my time is spent teaching people how to care for their oral health and keep their smile in great shape.
