It is fulfilling to promote childrens oral health as part of their overall wellness. I strive to develop partnerships with parents byworking together as the child grows. As a father, I understand a parents desires and concerns. I welcome the opportunity to establish open communication in order to answer a familys questions, address issues, and ensure they have the information needed to make informed decisions about their childs oral health.
Spending my days with children each with their own warm, spontaneous, and ever-growing personality is an honor. I value my patients for who they are, and who they are becoming, and care for each as I would my own child.
Before becoming a pediatric dentist, I completed a Bachelor of Science in dietetics at Iowa State University. I worked as a registered dietitian for several yearsbefore deciding to return to school and pursue my dental degree and specialty training.
I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery by the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. This was followed by a rigorous two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry. This postdoctoralprogram focused on the unique oral health concerns of children, behavior management, and addressing the needs of children with developmental and other concerns.
In the more than ten years since completing my specialty training, I have had the honor of meeting and caring for many remarkable children. Each has brightened my life, provided a lot of laughter and excitement, and encouraged me to constantly grow and adapt to their needs.
Pediatric dentistry is a steadily advancing specialty. Through continuing education, I stay current on the latest developments and best practices. Learning new information enhances the services I provide and ensures I offerthe best treatment for positive experiences.

I can be seen anywhere from helping prepare patients for restorative treatment, to placing sealants, to giving oral hygiene advice, and removing more stubborn deposits and stain on teeth. My goal as a dental hygienist is to instill good oral hygiene habits in our patients and to educate them on why these habits are so important.
