Dr. John Gittins is a native to Davis County. He always had a love for science and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Microbiology from Weber State University. He attended Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011. He was awarded a scholarship with the U.S Army and was one of four dentists accepted into the Armys Prosthodontics Residency program at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. After completing his residency in 2015, he served as the Chief of Prosthodontics and Dental Technology at Fort Riley, Kansas. There he was instrumental in the care of soldiers and the mentorship of over thirty general dentists.
John was inducted a Diplomat by the American Board of Prosthodontics following the completion of his board exams in 2015. This is the highest honor a specialist can be awarded. He is one of only three Board Certified Prosthodontist in the state of Utah, and one of only 1,000 worldwide.
After his military commitment was complete, he decided it was time to come home. He began teaching Prosthodontics at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in South Jordan, Utah in 2018. He is loved by both his patients and students and genuinely cares for each one of them.
John met his wife, Jessica, while attending Weber State University and they married in 2002. They have four beautiful children and are thrilled to be back in Utah. John loves having fun with his family, exploring nature, and eating good food. He has three life rules: First, dont take yourself too seriously. Second, whatever you do, do it with passion. And third, take time with the people you love.

Dr. Gittins really knows his stuff, he took his time explaining things very thoroughly to me and made sure that I understood what needed to be done, the reason my mouth needs to be worked on and the next steps that I need to take to make sure my mouth will be healthy. He made it his priority for me to not be in any pain while he was working on me. This has definitely been the best dental experience I've had.

I have worked as a student under Dr. Gittins for over a year now and out of all the doctors I have worked with over the years there is no one as genuinely compassionate and thoughtful in the way he approaches patients and cases. He is incredibly knowledgeable and considers all things (aspects which other doctors do not even pay mind to!) and all the cases he has done with me have had a considerably better outcome than those done with other doctors. He is a doctor of integrity and wisdom and any patient who sits in his chair has hit the jackpot of providers!

Dr. Gittins is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He wants the process to be done correctly! He cares about you and the outcome of the entire prosthodontic process. In addition, he is the ONLY person who has ever given a totally pain free shot and I have had extensive work done over the years!!

John is absolutely honest and good at what he does. He took the time to give me a free consultation and said that my teeth were in much better shape than I thought they were. I know this won't always happen for everyone but he is definitely not a dentist that will take advantage of anyone for more money. He is trustworthy with the highest level of quality work. There is not a better way to be as a dentist. You are in good hands with him.
