The office of Pure Perio has had a long successful history in Glenview. The practice was founded in 1968 by Dr. RonaldFabrick. Dr. Fabrick, a Northwestern University graduate, started his career as a general practitioner in the US Navy stationed in Japan. Upon completion of his tour, he returned to the United States, and went on to the University of Washingtons periodontal residency program studying under Drs. Saul Schluger and Bill Amons. Both of whom were instrumental in the development of osseous surgery procedures.
Dr. Kenneth Bueltmann joined Dr. Fabrick in 1974. Dr. Bueltmann is a graduate of Marquette University where he completed a 6 year accelerated undergraduate and dental program. From Marquette, he joined the NAVY serving 2 years stationed in California. Dr. Bueltmann went on to the University of Iowa to complete his Periodontal residency. After completing his Periodontal residency, Dr. Bueltmann found himself back in California; this time teaching and completing his periodontal research at the University of Southern California. It was not long before Dr. Bueltmann made his way back to his home town of Chicago to join Dr. Fabrick. He had a very rewarding career in Glenview before retiring in 2014. During his tenure he sat on multiple professional boards,including presidency of the American board of Periodontology In the summer of 2013, Dr. Megan Ratliff joined Dr. Bueltmann in Glenview and has since taken over the practice followingDr. Bueltmanns retirement.
Megan A. Ratliff DDS MS was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Mi. She studied at Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a dental scholar. This allowed her to complete both her bachelor in science and doctorate in dental surgery in just seven years. While in Wisconsin she earned the titles of Miss Milwaukee and Miss Southern Wisconsin both preliminaries in the Miss America Organization.
Following dental school, she attended the University of Louisville where she obtained her certificate in periodontology and mastersin oral biology. Dr. Ratliff became a diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology following residency. In 2009, Dr. Ratliff won the Prestigious Billy M. Pennel Research Competition for her clinical research in bone regeneration. Dr. Ratliff currently sits on the board for the Midwest Society of Periodontology and the clinical innovations committee for the Academy of Osseoinegration.
Dr. Ratliff is an active philanthropist in Chicago outside of the dental community. She serves on the Board of Advisors for Catholic Charities, the Aid for Women programs committee, and University of Chicagos CancerResearch Associates Board. In her spare time, Dr. Ratliff can be found enjoying her other passions: singing opera, sailing, and playing the violin.

Prior to going to Pure Perio I was a patient of Dr. Bueltmann who owned this practice and then sold it to Meghan Ratliff. I really appreciated Dr. Bueltmann's experience and expertise. He chose the right person to take over the practice. Meghan and her staff are also excellent and expert. I have been going here for years and plan to continue. You couldn't find a better practice and staff.

DR. Ratliff has assembled a group of friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff at Pure Perio. Not only is the in-office experience great but the follow ups let you know they are truly focused on the best outcome for their patients!

I never thought I would ever have to go to a periodontist and when I did, my experience with Dr. Ratliff (and her team) was truly exceptional. She went out of her way to thoroughly explain the procedure, made me feel at ease and was personable. I absolutely give her and her team the highest recommendation; and if I could give her (and then) ten stars, I would!

I live and work in Chicago and continue to make the trek to Pure Perio! The professional demeanor and the extremely friendly staff has me coming back! Dr. Ratliff is gentle and always ensures I am very relaxed prior to any work she does on my teeth. The entire team at Pure Perio is absolutely fantastic and I will continue to make the 20 mile trek - it is totally worth it!

Dr. Ratliff and staff are the best. Pure Perio is one of those places that you walk into, and know you're in the best hands. That's what you want when it involves your teeth & mouth... I will never go anywhere else. You shouldn't either.
