Dr. Ryan Carmichael was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas A&M University in College Station prior to attending Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He then attended Texas Tech University School of Medicine to obtain his Doctor of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Carmichael returned to Dallas where he completed an internship in General Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center before concluding his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in 2018. Dr. Carmichael is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Carmichaels professional interests include wisdom teeth removal, dental extractions, dental implant reconstruction, and oral pathology with an overall emphasis on providing a comfortable patient experience through the use of IV Sedation.
Dr. Gilbert Selkin is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who specializes in surgery of the head, face, neck, and oral cavity as well as facial reconstruction and facial cosmetic surgery. After receiving his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and his M.D. degree from Texas Tech University, he completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Oral and MaxilloFacial Surgery at the prestigious Baylor University Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Selkin has been featured in D Magazine for 6 years as a best doctor.

Dr. Selkin is downright amazing. I went in to get a wisdom tooth out, and Dr explained everything and answered all my questions. The staff was so kind and understanding about my fears regarding sedation. I was basically without pain by about 24 hours after surgery which I've never heard of with wisdom teeth. So impressed! Super easy process all around and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. I felt extremely well taken care of.

It was nice, got my wisdom teeth removed and they were nice and professional. Also I remember when I was coming out of wisdom teeth removal surgery and was kinda loopy I said that I'd give a 5 star review, so kinda honor bound by it. Was nice, if I didn't hate surgery in general I'd go back.

My mom had a reconstruction surgery for a Mohs procedure on top her head, Dr. Selkin was extremely nice and proficient. He did a fabulous job. Looks like she will have minimal scarring and the hair will be able to cover the little bit of scarring that she will have. The staff in the office are incredibly nice and our wait time was minimal to be seen each time we have gone to his office.

The doctor, nurses, administrators, and the office folks were fantastic. My surgery was complicated and needed to be rescheduled due to my tooth's placement and proximity to the nerves. The diverse staff took really great care of me and my mother who was my ride home. And now she's looking forward to coming to the same place when she gets her implants. Thanks to genetics, my mother has the exact same problems as I'm having. *Correction Had

Just wanted to say a big big big thank you to the whole team who worked on me today. From walking in and getting checked in to getting taken back and prepped for my wisdom teeth removal. Dr. S you are beyond amazing. So thankful to be in your wonderful hands. Your staff is incredible as well. I hope I don't have to see you soon but in the event I do...I know I'm in good hands. Just so everyone reading this understands I have a massive fear of the dentist from a bad childhood experience and I have panic attacks these guys had me laughing and not worried at all.

This review is to be ongoing throughout my process here at PURE. Extrapolation: I would absolutely recommend. Read on for full review. First impression was made when they were unable to take my initial call. They returned the call and asked me to call back. The following day I tested this by calling a number of times. Never answered. So, I came in. Reception was decent, but it was too slow to merit not answering the phone. Having been told the process would only take 20 minutes, I made an apt for the consultation. Showing up for my SCHEDULED apt for a 20 min process, I've been here over an hour and have yet to see a doctor. The mouthwash and to go toothbrushes in the bathroom are a nice touch. As stated I'll update this as it progresses. Update: The doctor came in shortly after my initial review posted. He apologized for the delay, and threw in a platelet treatment in way of apology. Very cool. However, I had to leave before my surgery quote was even generated. When I'd mentioned the need to go based on my schedule, there were no apologies for the wait from front desk personnel. The consultation itself was fine; quick, informative and concise. Concerning the front desk attitude and overall scheduling process, they have room for improvement. More to come concerning the pre and post surgery experience. Concerning the day of surgery: Everthing went great. They were able to fit me in earlier than expected in response to my schedule. Bedside manner in prep was flawless. Calming, yet authorative. I feel fine and the surgery was just about an hour. Friday following extraction: almost no pain at all; even skipping pain pills. This held true throughout. I have to say, the experience was a bit anti climactic when considered next to the tales told of extraction. I found bleeding to have stopped roughly 40 hours after op. Minimum swelling. I cant speak on anyone else experience, but I can say this was a breeze. Thank you PURE for your help in this life changing procedure. All I all, I'd recommend.

Absolutely worst experience. I had three wisdom teeth removed today. My driver stopped to pick up my pain med Prescription after the appointment and the pharmacy hadn't received it. She asked that it be sent to the Kroger pharmacy thinking it be ready by the time we got there. They didn't. It is (5:30pm) my appointment was at 11:45am, my anesthesia has worn off and I have no medication. I called again at 5pm to ask again for it to be sent and a rep to me they are close, even though the website says they are open until 5:30.Find some place else.

Dr. Gil Selkin was awesome as well as his assistants. My daughter and I came at the last minute due to a change in Dentist after a disappointed services experience and Dr. Silkin and his team really when above and beyond with extradorinaiy service for my daughter. She was removing 4 wisdoms teeth at one time and her recovery was super quick because of the delicate surgery and awesome work Dr.Gil performed. My son has since booked his appointment to remove his 3 wisdoms teeth and we expect not but another awesome experience. Thanks again Dr. Selkin please keep up the great work! We need great, thorough and personal Dentist like yourself!

Dr. Ellis and the whole team were thorough, kind and professional. Great teamwork and sense of a happy work place amongst staff. They made my daughter feel very comfortable as she was there to get all four of her wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia. Dr. Ellis did a great job and we were out in about 30 minutes! My daughter's recovery has been smooth with no complications. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ellis and the entire Mint team!!

Dr. Ellis is the most knowledgeable and thorough when it came time for surgery. He explained everything from top to bottom and answered all of my questions. The office staff was extremely nice and the office was clean. Came back for a post op appointment and everything was perfect from here on out. I would highly recommend getting your surgery at Pure Oral Surgery!
