Dr. Alisa Madson spends her days at Pura Vida Orthodontics creating beautiful smiles. Its her dream to help patients transform their confidence and be themselves, all through the power of a confident smile. A happy, healthy grin is priceless, and Dr. Madson aims to help every patient learn to live in the moment with their best smile!
Dr. Madson grew up in the Twin Cities Metro area. As a life-long Minnesotan, she attended the University of Minnesota at Morris and graduated from the UMN School of Dentistry, where she obtained her dental degree and completed her orthodontics residency. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, a certified Invisalign provider and a Board Certified Orthodontist.
When she isnt working closely with her patients, Dr. Madson enjoys traveling, cooking, and outdoor activities including ice hockey and skiing! In addition, she is passionate about bringing top-tier tooth technology to her patients so that they can more easily achieve beautiful, healthy smiles.
Combining art and science to create beautiful smiles for patients is what Dr. Hart loves most about being an orthodontist. She attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate education. As a proud Golden Gopher, she remained at the UofM to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and specialty training in orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and regularly attends continuing education courses to expand her orthodontic knowledge.
Dr. Hart grew up in Grand Rapids, MN and loves to spend time with family in northern Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, baking, traveling with her husband, and taking her dog, Kira, on walks.
Dr. Bukstein grew up in the Twin Cities metro area. She attended the University of Jamestown (formerly Jamestown College) in Jamestown, North Dakota for her undergraduate degree, then went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry for her dental degree. Dr. Bukstein completed a one-year general practice residency program at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA before returning to Minnesota to practice as a general dentist. After six years of practice as a general dentist, she decided to pursue a specialty degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Bukstein completed her orthodontic residency at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. She is a Board Certified Orthodontist, member of the American Association of Orthodontists and a certified Invisalign provider.
In her free time, Dr. Bukstein spends time with her husband and two young children. She enjoys traveling and reading, as well as biking and running. She is thankful to be practicing in her home state, where her children enjoy sledding in the winter and swimming in the lakes all summer.

We absolutely love this place! The pricing is upfront, scheduling is a breeze and the staff is amazing. My son was injured mid-treatment and they did everything possible to keep him comfortable, and on schedule. (The staff even sent him a "get well" card to our house.) After his braces were taken off, he broke off his permanent retainer and they fixed it with no charge. Stop looking, this is the place to go for Otho work.

I had a permanent retainer wear away and it needed to be reglued in. I previously had an appt set up for another place, but they made me feel like my small need was an inconvenience so I found Pura Vida through my dentist's recommendation. They scheduled me in within 2 weeks, had a consultation, looked at my teeth and gave me some things to think about for the future. They were then able to get me right back to take care of my retainer. Everyone was so kind and easy to work with. Thank you again for the great experience, I will for sure recommend you to others.

Initial consult for my 12yo went very well. They took their time to explain everything. We did not feel rushed at all. After three consults, we strongly feel that this is the one. Great job and keep it up!

Pura Vida Orthodontics is place you must bring your family to if you need Braces or Invisalign's. The office is super clean, friendly staff, caring for their patients and knowledgeable.

Puravida and their team are simply THE BEST!!!! I am so happy with how my daughters and my experience has been so far. The team there is always so friendly and helpful. They make us feel right at home. I would strongly recommend everyone and anyone to check them out for their ortho needs!!!

Me, My brother, and my mom all went here. All the staff are super nice and our teeth look amazing! Jenny L was our orthodontist assistant and did such a great job. She was carful, and great at what she does! I would 100% recommend to anyone considering coming here!

Great staff and beautiful office. Dr. Madsen is caring and very thorough. She and Laura explained everything prior to moving forward. Saw Dr. Hart and she was very nice and explained what was being done.
