Dr. David Pumphrey earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the School of Dentistry at Emory University in Atlanta. He then went on to complete his specialized training and earn his postgraduate certificate in periodontics at Emorys Department of Periodontics. He completed his hospital residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He has been in private practice specializing in the field of Periodontics and Dental Implants since 1987.
After completing dental school and residency, he never assumed that he now knows enough, and so he continues with his postdoctoral training, attending courses at three times the rate required by the Georgia Dental Board. His courses include advances in periodontal treatment and the placement and restoration of dental implants. He also continues to study surgical cosmetic procedures and the role of occlusion in dental stability. In this way, he is able to utilize current and emerging methods, technology, and therapies.
He has been particularly interested in coursework from the Kois Center for Dental Education in Seattle. This center focuses on keeping dentists abreast of cutting-edge methods in aesthetic dentistry, dental implants, and restorative dentistry. This has helped him expand the services he offers to patients who are particularly concerned with their appearance. He has become a recognized Kois Specialist.
Dr. Pumphrey is also a professor at the Graduate School of Periodontics in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. He has also served as President of the Northern District Dental Society in Georgia and has served in various capacities with the Georgia Dental Association. He is a member of American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, International College of Dentists. He has also lectured in the fields of implantology and regeneration techniques as well as being published locally and nationally. He was also honored to be elected to membership in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an honor granted on the basis of his contributions to the profession.
Married since 1987, Dr. Pumphrey has three children: Brock, Taylor, and Madison. He spends his free time playing with grandkids Little Brock, Pierce, and Dolly, along with golfing, traveling, and gardening.

I would go here!!!! They lie and kind of judge you!!! Dentist is a maverick though. Dr. pumphrey himself. Trying to wheel and deal on the price. Im not returning.

Incredible staff!! Had major dental work completed by Dr Pumphrey and the process was smooth and effortless. He's completely reassuring of the proceeds involved with implants. After the surgery he call me from his cell phone to ensure I was doing OK. Top notch customer service. Going above and beyond. Would recommend 100%

I had an appointment at 3 PM. I filled out all paperwork online. I arrived 5 minutes early. I waited for 45 minutes in the chair before I walked out. Being 45 minutes late to an appointment is not professional and it doesn't respect a customers time. The lack of communication was worse. I waited 2 weeks for this appointment. I am very disappointed.

Thumbs down. Learn how to treat people. The people at this office are freaking incompetent! Went in for exam & had my insurance card with me. They still made me pay for something that was covered. I was told that my insurance would refund me. But, how its covered from the start, so why make me pay. Why not do the job of looking into my insurance. I regret going here; even my insurance (UHC) is confused on why I was charged.

I booked a consultation with Dr. Kancherla found her to be extremely caring, knowledgeable and diligent in her analysis of the issue. She did her best to confirm that my molar could not absolutely be saved before even discussing the extraction and implant details. It is also impressive that Dr. Kancherla offers both Ceramic/Zirconia implant in addition to traditional metal/titanium type. I believe Dr. Kancherla has the skills, integrity, and confidence needed in every medical professional. So, I highly recommend her services.

I have some issues with my mouth for over 3 years. I have been seeing several dentist in a regular basis without satisfactory results until the day I went to Pumphrey Periodontics & Dental Implant Therapy office. The welcome I received from the front desk Staff member Tristen made me fell right in a 5 star hotel immediately. the artwork on the wall and the total decoration made the place very inviting. My check in was quick and Tristan was extremely pleasant, very polite and professional during our interaction. Doctor Pumphrey did my diagnosis and recommended a treatment plan for me. His explanations indicated that he knows what he is doing. When I came back to start the treatment, Doctor Kancherla and her assistant took care of me. As soon as she worked in the room, I knew that I was in good hands. She did an amazing job like nobody has ever done on me during the past 3 years That I have been suffering with mouth, gums and teeth issues. After she finished, 85% of my symptoms were relieved. She is my champion. I can not wait to see her again to finish up the job. I strongly recommend the Pumphrey Periodontics & Dental implant Therapy to anyone who been going through dental problem of any types. The professionalism, kindness and friendliness of the whole team is outstanding. Moreover they get the job done and well done. Thank you you all.

Dr. Pumphrey and his wonderful staff are so professional and cordial. The environment is very ZEN and calming. The staff (Tristen, Laneice, Laurence, Linda, and Chelsie) are so welcoming and genuinely nice. Important too, my dental and periodontic treatments have given me great results. Dr. Pumphrey and his team are the absolute best. They excel in care, customer service, and communication. I reached out and emailed the office a TON and they were able to answer all my questions thoroughly before making an appointment to have a crown lengthening procedure. They were extremely flexible in meeting my requests and fitting my schedule in with theirs. From arrival to departure, I felt very comfortable and the procedure was a breeze. I appreciate Dr. Pumphrey going the extra mile for the overall aesthetic and, most importantly, care of my gums making my whole experience exceptionally memorable. I am extremely pleased with my results, only regret is not doing it sooner!
