A survey by the American Dental Association found a persons smile outranked eyes, hair and body as the most important physical feature. Dr. Owenss objective is to give his patients a smile they are proud of.
We want our patients to feel comfortable the minute they walk in the door. We understand patients dont care how much you know until they know how much you care. From there we focus on helping our patients feel good about themselves through the way they smile.
Dr. Owens grew up in a small town, similar to Pulaski, in central Alabama. He was raised on a dairy farm in Helena, AL. An intercollegiate soccer scholarship led him to Harding University in Searcy, AR. Dr. Owens graduated with honors a semester early from Harding as a biology major with a minor in chemistry and Bible. He continued his education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Ranked high in his class, he graduated with honors, including the Clinical Excellence in Leadership Award. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society.
Dr. Owens is a member of the Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Implant Association, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Association for Orthodontics. He has continued his education in aesthetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, implants, orthodontics and more.
Dr. Owens is dedicated to continually improving his personal and teams training to better provide care and services for his patients. In 2015, he was awarded with the prestigious award of a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). He has also earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Dr. Owens is an international dental speaker, which leads him to teach other dentists the various aspects of dentistry in the United States and Canada.

I cannot stop smiling! I have never been to a dentist as caring as Dr. Shannon! This was our first time and immediately we knew we were going to be coming her for the years to come. I enjoy being able to walk into a dental office and feel as though I am welcomed and treated well, and this office exceeds both. I greatly recommend this office as they guided me through the processes of Invisalign and helped me finally have a smile of confidence. The hygienists are always wonderful, as well as gentle, while taking care of my teeth. I have had my share of bad dental experiences and none have come from Owen's, in any form. I don't plan on changing dentist office because all of my criteria for a good office have been met. I have been going here close to two years and can comfortably say that this office deserves the acknowledgment. I hope others will come to share this view as well.
