Dr. Bob Pryor was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN and knew by seventh grade he wanted to be a dentist. After graduating from ORHS in 1974, Dr. Bob attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where he graduated in 1978 with highest honors. Next was completion of dental school at the UT College of Dentistry-Memphis in 1982 and on to military service in the US Navy. Lieutenant Pryor served three years on active duty at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX and was able to practice all phases of dentistry.

It was then that Dr. Bob realized that he wanted to exclusively provide dental care to children and dental /oral education to parents. Upon completion of a two year residency program in pediatric dentistry at UT-Memphis/Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in 1987. Dr. Bob happily returned to his hometown to start a private practice and serve patients in East Tennessee.

In addition to his Tennessee specialty license to practice pediatric dentistry, Dr. Bob is affiliated with multiple dental organizations. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the American Dental Assoc. (ADA), the TN Dental Assoc. (TDA), the Second District Dental Society, the Anderson County Dental Society and the Roane County Dental Society.

Dr. Bob has also been actively involved with many civic organizations. He is currently or in the past been on the board of the Oak Ridge Boys/Girls Club, CASA of East TN Homeland and the Children's Museum. He actively supports Girl's Inc., Safety City and all the public schools in Oak Ridge (including St. Mary's School).

Through the local dental society, Dr. Bob has supported the education of registered dental assistants, including instruction in pediatric dentistry. He has aided in the growth and development of the dental hygiene program at Roane State Community College - Oak Ridge Campus. Dr. Bob 's belief in dental education includes having staff member 'Miss Terry', a registered nurse and dental assistant, visit local day care centers and kindergartens to discuss oral/ dental care to children and caregivers.

They gave my young child horrible dental anxiety. They commonly use papoose boards to strap kids down and won't allow parents to go back. I do NOT recommend pryors office!

My child's teeth got alot of cavities so we had some removed. The problem is when we ask if it was baby teeth or permanent. They say it's permanent and that my baby needed crowns. Well guess what. Her actual permanent teeth came in. We spent a good amount of money here.

Unbelievably unprofessional and rude do not recommend unless you want to be constantly criticized.

I took my son to see Dr. Pryor for his first dental appointment. He is 9 months old. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful from the time I called to make the appointment and throughout his exam/cleaning. I felt as if they treated my son as if he was one of their own. I highly recommend Dr. Pryor and his staff to anyone in search of a pediatric dentist.

Dr. Pryor is a wonderful pediatric dentist. My children are so comfortable with him, and the staff is always positive and helpful. Going to the dentist can cause anxiety in little ones (and for parents), however, visiting Dr. Bob is something my children actually look forward to.

Dr. Pryor and all of his staff are so excellent and make the children feel safe and loved during treatments. My daughter loves to have the lady hold her hand while she gets work done. Dr. Pryor has a lot of experience and expertise.

Our two kids, who are now young adults started going to Dr. Robert Pryor around age 2 for their dental needs. I highly recommend Dr. Pryor for many reasons: 1) He and his staff are professional. 2) They always did everything they could to make our kids feel valued and at ease. 3) They always took the time to find out how things were going in our kid's lives. 4) All of our questions were answered thoroughly and thoughtfully. We never felt rushed. It was a hard decision, but both of our kids just had their last visit with Dr. Bob. Not because they wanted to go elsewhere, but because they are now 18 and 20 years old. We strongly recommend them to meet all your pediatric dental needs.
