Dr. Nicholas Merica graduated from Roseman University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine. Prior to attending dental school Dr. Merica received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Utah. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry. His favorite part is getting to know his patients and developing a continued relationship with them.
Dr. Merica is married to Cecile and together they have 3 beautiful children, twin girls and a baby boy. He loves spending time with his family. He served his church for two years as a missionary in Mexico, which helped him become fluent in Spanish. He enjoys sports, fishing, movies, and spending time outdoors. A good friend from dental school introduced him to MO and once he saw the beautiful Ozarks and how great the people are he knew it was the place for him and his family. He looks forward to serving Cabool and the surrounding areas, as well as learning more about the beautiful area he now calls home.
Shelly is a native of the Dent County/Salem area. She is married to David and has two grown children, and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves being a Nana. She also enjoys Camping with friends and family.
Shelly has been in the Dental field for 30 years working in General Dentistry. She completed a Dental Assisting program and also has earned her Expand Function Certification. She has worked in the administrative field of dentistry for 15 years.
Candice graduated in 2008 from Ozarks Technical Community College where she received a degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a dental assistant during the summers while in high school and fell in love with the practice of dentistry. Working at Cartwright Dental since 2008 has allowed Candice to provide quality dental care and grow her relationships with the patients. Candice is very happy to become part of the Merica Family Dental team and to continue providing excellent care to patients. She is looking forward to helping her patients achieve happy and healthy smiles!
Candice is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan, and they reside in Mountain View, MO, where they grew up. They have three children whom are the light of their lives. Avary is the oldest and Aliya and Eli are twin toddlers. Candice enjoys spending time and caring for her family, being outdoors, going to sporting events, reading, and landscaping.
Since she graduated in 2008 from Republic H.S., Hannah knew that she wanted a career in the dental field. She completed a Dental Assistant program in 2011 and is now an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) which she received from OTC in Springfield. She enjoys helping patients with all their dental needs and working chair side to help answer any questions and educate patients on their own oral healthcare.
In her free time, she loves spending quality time with her daughter and blended family. Together they enjoy the lake, camping, shopping, cheering for their children at sporting events, random surprise adventures, and most importantly; laughing together and serving God. She looks forward to meeting you and building a special friendship together.
Sandra, our part time dental hygienist, came to Cabool in 2016 from Round Rock, Texas, where she practiced for 17 years. Sandras hobbies include quilting, gardening,and hiking. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, who live next door, and her husband, Joe. Sandra is excited to be part of our team, and looks forward to meeting new people!
Robin lives in Summersville, MO. She loves being a dental assistant and helping patients maintain and achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. She enjoys working with Dr. Merica and the rest of the Team every day. At home, she enjoys horses, her dog and cats, and spending time with her family. Robin has been a Dental Assistant for 10 years and looks forward to many years of helping patients and continuing her education.
Maria is the youngest of 13 kids, 6 brothers/7 sisters. She was born and raised in Long Beach, Ca. and married her middle school sweetheart, Brian and theyve been together for 30 yrs. They have three beautiful kids together, Lil Brian 27, Andrew 23, and Marley 18 and are a loving, close knit family and spend alot of time together. Maria loves attending church, the outdoors, BBQs, river days and sports.
She graduated from an accredited dental program in Anaheim, California in 1997. Shes been in the dental field 20 + years now and she ABSOLUTELY loves it!! Maria looks forward to helping patients with their oral health care and forming lasting friendships with them. She is very happy to be a part of such an amazing dental team!

I just had an old filling redone last month. The dentist used a laser instead of a drill and I didn't need novocain! It was pain free! Wow. Things sure have changed alot in the last few years.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this dentist at all. My child was having quite a bit of dental work done. On our second visit, a dental assistant did all of the fillings instead of Dr. Merica. This information was not given to me ahead of time, of it had been I would have been able to make the decision to switch her care to a dentist that would actually do the work him/herself. I would prefer an actual specialist do the dental work on my child since she has had to have so much done. Communication and full disclosure would have gone a long way to allow me to make an informed decision about my daughter's dental care. When I expressed my concern to Dr. Merica, he informed me that his assistants were qualified and that he didn't have time to finish her work. He later came back in and said that if we wanted to wait a few minutes he would finish my child's work today. While I appreciate his gesture, his lack of communication and respect for a parent's right to make informed decisions is enough for me to take my child elsewhere for the rest of her dental work.

Not bad, but the dental assistant's bedside manner was a bit cold. Dark, old office. Dr. Nick is quiet and gentle. He lets you know what is happening. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

After many horrible experiences at other dentist I turned to this office. As a grown man I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've been afraid of dental work all my life. This office/staff is top notch in my book. Any questions I had before and during my procedure yesterday was met with a friendly and professional reply. This morning, after having 4 teeth removed, I feel great. I appreciate everything and will recommend. Also, what's not to like about a guy with the last name Merica!
