I was 12 years old when I decided I wanted to be a dentist. I was blessed to have a mother who was a dental hygienist that quit her own practice of dentistry to be my mom but never lost her love of the profession. I had great friends and examples that encouraged my education and dreams. My college years allowed me to pursue my love and amazement of the human body, the relationships of loving people and the environment that surrounds us. I chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry because I get to be involved with children all day long and help them to grow and be healthy.
We invite and encourage parents to be involved in this process and try to teach families a better way of life. Sure, times can be very challenging, but I have resolved that a tender heart, kindness and compassion help to make friends and better patients, as opposed to being a mean or scary authoritarian that forces children to behave because of fear. We get to work with the greatest clientele in the world, and even when things get tough, they are willing to give you a fist bump or a hug when we finish our work.
I love the outdoors and participate in many outdoor sporting and recreational activities. I love to run and challenge my mind and body with endurance races. I have completed over 100 marathons or ultra-marathons, and this is my guilty pleasure after a hard day of work. I have a long affiliation with Boy Scouting and love to teach youth, for in them is where our future lies.
My greatest job in life is being a dad. I have four children and the most wonderful wife, who supports my craziness. I am a very blessed man, and I thank you for considering our practice as you look for a dental professional to take care of your precious children.
Pediatric dentistry is the best job in the whole world. With the specialty of pediatric dentistry, we are able to use new, state-of-the-art and tried-and-true techniques to provide a dental environment that children can thrive in. I love the emphasis that is placed on child growth and development. Each child is special with individual needs. This makes for a vibrant, stimulating and rewarding environment to practice the art and science of pediatric dental medicine.
I received my bachelors degree from Brigham Young University in 1982, my Doctor of Dental Medicine from Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987 and my pediatric dental specialty training from Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center in 1989.
Outside of dentistry, most of my interests are located out-of-doors. Utah provides a wealth of incredible recreational activities. Winter brings skiing and snowboarding in the mountains of Utah and Canada. In the spring and fall, I love to explore Utah canyons, both on motorcycles and hiking to remote canyon areas. Summer finds me boating the Utah lakes with my children and grandchildren. I also love tending to my garden and vineyard.
I am grateful to our patients and team and want to publicly thank everyone who has made Provo Pediatric Dentistry such a great place for oral care for the parents and the children (yes, even the teenagers!). My talented partner, our very competent team of pediatric assistants and I wish you all the best and welcome you to our practice. You are the best!
I grew up in Brigham City, Utah, where, as a youth and avid scouter, I was inspired to become a dentist by my Scoutmaster. I set my sights on dentistry and began preparing for this career as early as high school and continued on to Utah State University studying biology, chemistry, and public health. I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, and pediatric specialty training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Childrens Hospital & Medical Center. I love being a pediatric dentist! It is the perfect blend of art, science and fun! It allows me to work with the most kind, happy and entertaining population. I believe it is very important for all children to have access to quality dental care and to feel empowered with the knowledge and resources to have a healthy smile for life. A positive dental experience combines the very best care tailored to each childs unique personality and needs with a relationship built on trust and communication. My goal as a pediatric dentist is to provide a dental home and gentle care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special needs.
After spending many years away, my wife and I are excited to be back in Utah. We love this great state and are excited to get back to many of the outdoor activities we love, as well as watching our two wonderful kiddos discover new and exciting things.

I've been taking my kids to this office for about 5 years. Dr. Lund was the greatest until lately. My last two visits have been a real disappointment. He seems annoyed all the time and the way he is been talking to my kids have not been very nice. In one of the visits he grabbed my kid's hand in a rude manner because she pointed at his magnifying glasses and he didn't like that and on our last visit he rolled his eyes after a question. I'm not sure about what's going on there but maybe is time to look for a different office. All the assistants and the receptionists are super kind and friendly! Keep up the good work there

It was my two year old's first dentist experience and he loved it so much he's been requesting to go back ever since. There's lots to keep kids entertained (fish tank, books, movies, balloon animals) and the hygienists and dentist are wonderful with children and competent.

I have two children that have needed to have oral surgery it's a frightening feeling but the doctors both markham and Lund at the pediatric dentistry made me feel reassured and so sympathetic for the situation. My older child who's now 8 loves going to the dentist that's bc they made it such a fun experience when he was younger . My four year old now is learning to love it she doesn't want to leave . They make you feel at home and they have an amazing warm happy staff

We have been going to Dr Markham for 23 years, we drive from Cache Valley. Dr. Markham is the best, the office staff is awesome. We have had the best care there and it makes it all worth the drive.

As always, they were wonderful with my (special needs) son, Michael. They are always caring and compassionate with him and get xrays, teeth brushing, and fluoride treatment done even though he has an oral aversion. He has always received wonderful care!

Loved meeting with dr markham. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. I would have gave them a 5 star but the wait was almost an hour before they got us back. They were very kind and apologetic.

I took my 2 year old for his first dentist appointment here and the team is absolutely amazing! They were completely understanding and made x rays painless, had a method for keeping him on my lap instead of making him sit in the chair, and kept him entertained with balloon animals. I would 100 percent recommend this office for your kids.

I took my 3 year old for his first dentist check up today and they were absolutely wonderful with him! The hygienist clearly explained everything to my son, on his level and made it so fun. The dentist was also great and was even familiar with a rare condition my son has that can affect his teeth. The wait time was long, but worth it. I have nothing but great things to say for this place and am quite pleased.

When I've gone in, the dental assistants have shown and explained to my kids what they will be doing. This has seemed to help my kids feel comfortable and not worried about the different brushes or things going into their mouthes. One of my kids may need surgery, I don't take procedures for my kids lightly. Dr. Lund has been positive in the way he's communicated with me about my kids and my concerns. I have appreciated the way the staff and dentists have treated my kids and me.

Best Dentist! They actually care about my kid and are so sweet. We felt nothing but good vibes here. The doctor did an amazing job and he educated us as we went through the process of fixing a cavity and sealing a few teeth. Prices are very reasonable. So happy we came here! They have games, beautiful fish to look at, and kid movies playing. The balloon was the cherry on top my daughter loved it!
