After graduating Dental School he joined a General Private Practice in Richmond Virginia as an Associate. He also became a Part Time Faculty member at the Medical College of Virginia instructing and educating in the departments of Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics Dentistry, and Dental Anatomy.
In 1990 Dr. Allegretti made the voluntary decision to join the United States Navy as a Commissioned Dental Officer to serve his country. He received advanced dental training and received two Navy Achievement Medals for his outstanding service. After five years of active military service Dr. Allegretti voluntary retired from the Navy with Honors and began his private practice in Springfield Virginia, a suburb of Washington DC.
His first private practice introduced cutting-edge dental technology. Dr Allegretti was one of the first practices in the area to invest in Digital X-ray and Digital Panoramic Technology. This was Cutting edge back in 1995. Dr. Allegretti and his Virginia Dental Team also received a Readers Choice Award from the Northern Virginia Living Magazine as one of Northern Virginias best Dental Practices.
Over the past three decades, Dr Allegretti has advanced his education on cutting edge dental treatments and services. His training consists of all aspects of dentistry including Invisalign Orthodontics, Implantology, CEREC Robotic Computerized Crown Fabrication, Facial Esthetics (Botox and Dermal Fillers) , Migraine Pain Relief, Sedation Dentistry, and Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry.
In 2008, Dr. Allegretti decided to relocate back to New England to spend time with his Parents. After two years of living full time in Provincetown, he decided to create Provincetown Dental Arts and bring the successful formula of Excellence, Technology, and Quality to the Cape Cod area.
Continuously striving and working toward being an outstanding Dental Practice is extremely important to Dr. Allegretti and his Dental Team. They attend an average of 125 hours of Continuing Education Courses per year and take great pride in staying current with the latest dental techniques and technology.
Additionally, Dr. Allegretti and his Dental Team have over 150 years of combined expertise between them and are currently members of the Cape Cod Dental Society, The Massachusetts Dental Society, The American Dental Society, The Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, The American Academy of Facial Esthetics, The Registered Dental Hygienist Society, and the Certified Dental Assisting Society.
In August 2008, Dr. Allegretti was awarded a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. This prestigious award was achieved by completing 450 hours of continuing education in the study of implants while also completing a number of implant placement and restored cases.
As an active proponent of the Arts, Sports, and Health, Dr. Allegretti proudly supports local Arts, Theatre Groups, Artists, and various sport programs in the community. He enjoys running, cycling, Physical Fitness, the various Arts, and Travel.
Her resume includes dental assisting, dental insurance administrating and carries an active EMT certification. This outstanding education and history reflect her extensive knowledge of dentistry and commitment to patient care. Michelle is a member of the National Association of Professional Woman and the National Association of Dental Office Managers.
Michelle is originally from the Midwest, having grown up in a small town in Indiana. When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her grown sons, daughter in laws, daughter, amazing grandson and her dog. Michelle now resides in Brewster where you might find her at a week end running event. If not, she will be hiking, golfing, enjoying extended family in Indiana, laughing with friends or enjoying New England Sporting events.
April is the chaired dental assistant, coordinator of dental instruments, oversees operations on the computer dental radiography, and dental equipment specialist. She spends a great deal of her day working side-by-side with Dr. Allegretti and the dental patients. She has been in the dental field for over 31 years and her extensive experience helps the patients to feel comfortable while in her care. Her bubbly and positive personality makes her a great asset to our team.
April lives in North Truro with her husband Timmy. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her two grown sons and two grandchildren. She also enjoys photography, scrapbooking, gardening, fishing and enjoying the company of good friends.
Karen began her dental career in Lake Tahoe, California, and brings 24 years of dental knowledge with her. She went back to school and graduated from Cape Cod Community Colleges Dental Hygiene program in 2003. Karen is a member of both Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Phi Alpha National Honor Societies.
Karen provides her patients with quality dental care and prides herself on being an advocate of patient education. She strives for optimal dental health for patients. While not working; she and her husband Jim enjoy their time outdoors; jogging, mountain biking, windsurfing and gardening.

It's like a high end spa meets state of the art dental technology. They can make crowns on location - no wearing temps for a week until they come back from some other backed up location.

I am a summer resident and recently lost a crown. Dr. Allegretti's office was able to schedule an appointment for me expeditiously. I was impressed with the office; the efficiency, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff; and the high quality of care provided by Julie (the Dental Assistant) and by Dr. Allegretti. It turns out that my crown is damaged, and the office was able to schedule an appointment for me to get the issue completely resolved next week. I will also mention that the office Coronavirus protocols were thorough and reassuring. I have been disciplined about following the health guidance provided by the scientific community, and I felt completely safe in Dr. Allegretti's office with the protocols they have in place.

I'm usually apprehensive prior and during a dental visit, I've had really unpleasant experiences in the past and I was expecting to undergo a certain degree of pain. Both Dr A and April were amazing, I drifted off into my own little world. Thank you all very much, until our next visit to Ptown- I just can't see myself going anywhere else!!!

I've never had a crown before, and the morning of my appointment, my husband told me, in gory detail, what he's been through. This was NOT my experience in P-town. Not only was it quick and painless, there was no temporary crown because they created the porcelain crown in house! While I was there, Dr. Allegretti and his staff continually expressed care about my comfort, and made sure that I was. Meanwhile, I was having fun watching the home shows on tv (which I don't have at home). Honestly, these folks are THE BEST, and I feel so lucky and grateful to have found a wonderful dentist in my new Cape Cod area.

I needed a crown in Florida but was derailed by Covid. After Massachusetts permitted dental care, Dr. Allegretti and staff took me in even though I did not have a history with the office. Thank goodness. Great patient care. Friendly and concerned. Dr. Allegretti did a great job, informing me all the way, and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The work was swift, accurate, and I am completely pleased with the results.

The excellent service and caring professionals who are at this practice made me feel comfortable and have my complete confidence that they are providing the best dental care I have ever experienced. With state of the art equipment they are able to analyze and recommend the best procedures to resolve any dental issues. My only regret is, there are only 5 stars they deserve many more!

I don't know what I could add to the already glowing reviews for Scott. He and his staff are exceptional, the environment is professional, yet warm and welcoming. I have seen both Dr. Allegretti and Dr. Clinton, and they are both excellent dentists. When I moved to Ptown, I left a dentist I loved, and feared I'd never find anyone that good again. Well, I have at Provincetown Dental Arts. A+
