A prosthodontist must complete at least three additional years of training in an ADA-accredited program after dental school in order to specialize in treating missing teeth and jaw problems. In particular, they focus on cosmetics, bridges, crowns, dentures, implants and more.

Dr. Paul Best was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is the son of a pediatric dentist and a homemaker. He grew up around dentistry, loves what he does, and is passionate about prosthodontics. Dr. Best is an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and college football fan. He loves the outdoors and has even worked for the Department of Natural Resources in Minnesota and on a wolf habitat recovery plan in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in Idaho. Paul enjoys spending time with his family and dog, target shooting, nature, antiques and traveling.
Dr. Best attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where he played soccer and studied biology and geology. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, and received his specialty certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Best has been involved in private practice for over twenty years and has taught dentistry at both clinical and pre-clinical levels. He believes in providing only the best possible care for his patients and his positive attitude spills over to the entire staff. You will enjoy working with Dr. Best to meet your dental wishes.
Dr. Wyatt Traina grew up on the banks of the Medomak River in Waldoboro, Maine. As the son of a veterinarian and a marine mechanic, he frequently combines medicine and mechanics in day-to-day practice. In his spare time, Wyatt enjoys fishing, cooking, board games, and duck hunting. Dr. Traina also spends time painting scale models to hone his dexterity.
After earning a bachelors degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Maine, Dr. Traina attended dental school at Boston University. He received advanced training in Prosthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he took special interest in implant restorations and new technology for implant placement and fabrication. While at the University of California, Dr. Traina enjoyed working and teaching at the evening homeless clinic. Dr. Traina is also a captain in the Army Reserve, where he serves as a general dentist.
Dr. Traina has finally returned to his home state to deliver top-notch dentistry, and he will work with you to develop and carry out a treatment plan that will address your individual needs in a friendly and caring manner.

Dr. Traina and team were wonderful. I had a veneer and a crown put onto my two front teeth, Although the process was long, arduous and uncomfortable at times, they did their absolute best to make me feel as comfortable as possible. We even cracked a few jokes despite my mouth being wide open for hours on end. The final product is exactly as I hoped for and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! For any veneers or crowns, I would highly recommend Dr. Traina!

I will be more than happy to recommend Dr. Traina and his office to anyone needing the services in Portland Maine. He is a highly accomplished Prosthodontist. His staff are always kind, accommodating and friendly. I can't find words to express how happy I am with the result of your work. Your sensibility, generosity, knowledge and expertise were a trust builder and I felt I was in the right place and in the right hands. Dr. Paul Best was very professional, yet very friendly. He made me feel comfortable and explained clearly as to what to expect as well as what was happening. He is very gentle. His assistant is a darling. They work very well together-fully understanding, with unison, each task. With much knowledge and compassion, Dr. Best is also a doctor with integrity in which I would highly recommend. I had a rather unusual problem. I needed an implant crown abutment with a stripped screw head removed. My regular dentist tried without success. I called several prosthodontic practices (most never even called me back) and none wanted to be bothered. I called Prosthodontics Associates and spoke with Dr Traina. He was willing to give it a try. The visit was very pleasant. His staff was great and made me very comfortable. Dr Traina was able to carefully remove the abutment and save the implant. An over-all very positive experience. Highly recomended.

I was just walking by this business when an employee nearly hit me. She didn't even try to break, just laid on her horn while I jumped back to avoid collision. While I stared in disbelief, she sped in, parked, and popped her trunk to unload supplies into the building. I hope this is the action of only one uncaring and dangerous individual and doesn't reflect on your business morals.

Today was my first appointment and I was extremely anxious and anticipating the embarrassment the entire ride in this morning, but Jevita & Dr.Best quickly had my mind at ease. They were absolutely amazing and made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in. I instantly felt like I had known them for years and jokes about sushi, drinks and karaoke. I still have a long road ahead, but feel comfortable and confident in working with Dr.Best and hopefully my new BFF Jevita LOL thank you all so much!

I had my teeth cleaned and they spotted a small cavity. They had a small amount of time and Dr. Best fit me in the same day. I have a fear of injections...but I remembered how incredible Dr. Best was giving them. I had NO pain! I love going to my dentist.

This is the best practice I have been to. I have been to a lot of dentists and this is by far the best. Dr. Sarmiento is knowledgeable , personable, and very open in communicating information. TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE, WONDERFUL RESULTS! I just completed a 2-year process of total dental restoration, a combination of implants and crowns, carried out by Dr. Luis Sarmiento. The results are amazing--I look younger and I have a great smile, I can eat anything easily, and I have minimal feeling of invasiveness from what's holding all of this in place. Dr. Sarmiento's artistry, technical competence, and engineering capabilities have produced these results, built on his determination to thoroughly solve detailed problems at every step along the way. In addition, as a person Dr. Sarmiento is open and very caring, someone I have always looked forward to meeting with throughout this process.

Dr Trainer did an excellent job on my chipped front tooth, couldn't be happier His assistant Barbara was great ,very thorough and reassuring The entire staff is lovely, I've been going to them for about 20 years and I drive over 30 miles each way! Wouldn't go elsewhere , they are the best.
