Dr. Vimal Patel was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Creighton University where he earned both his Bachelors of Science in Biology degree and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation, Dr. Patel began his career in Omaha, Nebraska before expanding his skill set and expertise at a practice in Springfield, Missouri. Shortly after their wedding, Dr. Patel and his wife, Anjali, a native Texan, moved to the North Texas area. While searching for the ideal place to raise a family, the couple fell in love with Prosper and decided to create Prosper Smiles Family Dentistry.
Dr. Patel is well-known for his great sense of humor and his commitment to providing the highest level of dental care. His believes in building a patient-centered dental practice, one that focuses on lasting patient relationships and providing a safe, comfortable office environment. In Dr. Patels words:

Staff is very professional and friendly. Dr Sisombath Was exceptional!! She spent the time to answer all my questions that I need an answer. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is needing dental work done.

Dr. Patel is an amazing dentist who is highly skilled and for a lack of a better term, is a perfectionist. He takes as much time as is needed to complete a procedure and is always sure to provide an explanation as to what he is doing. I feel very assured over the past 5 years when Dr. Patel is examining me or my family. I highly recommend Dr. Patel for any family dentistry needs.

Staff is great and Dr. Patel is amazing. If you live in the Prospher Denton Aubrey area you should definitely check out Prospher Smiles it'll be worth the drive.

Dr.Patel and his staff are wonderful, all of my appointments have been on time consistently which means a great deal! I used to be terrified of dental visits now I worry less and look forward to my appointments now!

Dr. Vimal Patel is down to earth always available to listen to your issues and help you. My wife is scared of visiting a dentist. The entire team makes the visit welcoming and my daughter likes to come see them. Also they won't do unnecessary procedures and work with you. May more people benefit from Dr. Vimal Patel's practice and hope he can also start his practice near 380 and 423 soon.

My insurance pays for N2O and composite filling but Dr. Patel gave me estimates with those charges in co-pay. When I questioned the estimate and co-pay, he canceled all the appointments with my family with excuse that he is not feeling trust. In fact, since I figured out that estimates are not correct and overcharged, he choose to cancel the appointments instead of fixing the issue. Dr. Patel, please bring transparency, ethics and empathy into your practice and you will start to feel the trust!

Dr. Patel and team are a well-oiled operation with outstanding service and attentiveness to your dental needs. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a family dentist. They have TV's on the ceiling so you or your kids can watch Netflix. Never seen that before!

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Patel for the next part of my tooth restoration (crown). Upon showing up, the receptionist said my appointment was canceled because I did not confirm my appointment. They claimed to have called 5+ times the prior day but I never received any calls, just a text message which DID NOT say my appointment would be canceled if I didn't confirm. They did call my wife for some reason (??) and left her a voice message about my appointment but once again did not mention anything about canceling if I did not confirm. But wait... there's more! 2 hours before my appointment I received a text message that literally read, "we are looking forward to your appointment today." See attached screenshot for reference. And the icing on the cake? After the receptionist informed me about the cancellation she said I had to pay for the visit. Yes, you read that correctly. Pay for the visit THEY canceled (despite their confirmation text hours prior!). You cannot make this stuff up. As someone who works in healthcare and very closely with many providers, I can honestly say I've never seen such unprofessionalism and awful treatment of a patient before. They have obviously lost my wife and I as patients and Dr. Patel should be very, very ashamed.

RUN unless you wish to be totally taken advantage of financially! New to the area, have run my own service oriented business successfully for over 24 yrs, extremely affluent and needless to say been around the block.... My appointment was made for a simple check up and teeth clean or so I thought...From the minute you enter and begin filling out forms ie: "You agree to pay out of pocket for ANY EXTRA NECESSARY X-RAYS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE" which btw he wasn't going to have me leave without getting SOME AMOUNT OF MONEY ON THE SPOT OVER & ABOVE WHAT MY INSURANCE COVERED.. I was right.. lol.. $75 in additional xray cost...And Yes I would say 15+ xrays, lost tract of the number to be honest, was a bit much and unnecessary unless you are just a really bad dentist and hygienist. It was an immediate red flag and the appointment proved to be exactly as expected from this point forward.. THEY REFUSED to do a normal cleaning because I refused to pay $1500+ for what they deem an essential "deep clean" which I was told involves numbing. I twice asked.." so are you saying you will not perform a normal teeth cleaning" and the answer was a hard no".. in fact the hygienist was visibly disappointed her extra commission/bonus would not be earned after she went through her whole sales pitch complete with guided book of explanation attempting to sell me further .. In comes Dr Vatel to "sell" me on the same "necessary" needed deep clean that I would venture to say is not covered by Insurance.. and of course three crowns needed. When I said no to all except I wanted a basic cleaning and I would schedule another day for the "deep clean" and crown appointments, again so blown away by the insinuation I don't take care of my teeth and have poor mouth hygiene just could not wait to get out of the office. What a total waste of my valuable time however look forward to finding a dentist in the area that actually cares about their patient not just looking to make a dime for the day upselling at every single turn . Cheesy and high pressure is the last thing I expect walking into to any dentist let alone bullying sales tactics! I did enjoy his disappointment and his rush to move on to sell to his next patient when he realized fairly quickly my choice of dentist was not going to be him or his office. I will be following up with my insurance company to see what exactly he billed them for!

Prosper Smiles Family Dentistry was an amazing find when I moved to the area. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The hygienists do fantastic work and are gentle and attentive. Dr. Patel is wonderful. He engages with his patients, listens to their concerns, and explains clearly and knowledgably. I trust this office with my oral health care and I look forward to my next appointment. :)

I have been going to Dr. Vimal Patel @ Prosper Smiles Family Dentistry for several years. Even after I moved out of Prosper. They are top notch! They do a great job of reminding you that you need a teeth cleaning and then reminding you when it is. They offer their own family dental insurance as well as state of the art equipment & cleanings. Dr. Patel is the best! Thank you for making me smile!

Dr. Patel and the Team at Prosper Smiles are amazing and I would highly recommend them! I came in with a chipped tooth and they were able to do the exam as well as address the tooth in the same visit. I know the team had to juggle some things around to make this happen but I was very appreciative they were able to take care of me so quickly! Thanks again Dr. Patel!
