Dr. Carney has been a resident of the south Arlington/Mansfield area for over 25 years where he has supported and watched the local area grow from an open rural community to a thriving metropolitan city. After landing here as a teenager following his father's retirement from the U.S. Armed Forces, he graduated from Arlington Martin High School in the late 1980's.
Dr. Carney has a diversified educational background starting with earning his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1993, and his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 from Texas A&M University.
After a 7 year engineering career, Dr. Carney decided to change his life focus and dedicated his life to the health professions by serving the community in dentistry. In 2005, Dr. Carney completed his DDS degree from the Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University Health Science Center.
After graduation, Dr. Carney served our nation 's armed forces in the US Navy as an officer in the navy dental corps treating our active duty sailors and marines. He also completed an advanced dental training General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia which included over 200 hours of didactic training as well as advanced training in surgery. His final tour was with the Navy 'Sea Bees' which included a deployment to the Middle East supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon completion of his military service, Dr. Carney returned to DFW where he completed his training in the specialty of periodontics, periodontal surgery, and implantology along with credentials in IV sedation.
Dr. Carney is currently a member of the American Academy of Periodontists, Southwest Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society and the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, scuba diving, teaching at the local college, and spending time with his family.

My husband and I have known Chris Carney since he opened his practice. His knowledge and professionalism, along with his assistant, Taurus, keep us coming back. We trust him implicitly. There is no one else I would consider going to as I am currently getting implants.

This was my first visit and the staff was very supportive and throughly professional!! The Doctor and I'm sorry his Assisstant I forgot their names but they was fabulous. My anxiety at finding out how ro deal with my bone loss issues were really freaking me out but they both answered my questions and help me through this. I highly recommend any Veterans who need special care come see y'all IMMEDIATELY!! Thank you.

Dr. Carney was very honest. I was referred to him by my dentist, but after thorough examination, he told me I didn't need his services. That takes a lot of honesty and integrity to turn away a willing, paying customer.

My experience with Dr Carney was excellent this morning. I prepared mentally for my procedure but it was over before I knew it. The Discomfort I anticipated never happened. Very happy I chose to go ahead with the procedure.

Very professional staff. Everyone in the office makes you feel welcome. They care about their patients. Everything is explained in detailed. You know exactly what's going to happen before it happens. They are honest, no surprises at all. I Highly recommend this office. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Carney and his staff went above and beyond with my care. Dr. Carney was even able to help me on the weekend, on his day off with a little hiccup on my procedure! I appreciated the positive attitudes that were shown at every single visit, the time everyone took to explain anything and everything to me and the fact I didn't feel like I was paying an arm and a leg for my procedure. Definitely recommend ProSoft for any of your dental needs if you want great work done with awesome people!

this isn't your average review because this isn't your average periodontist. they are your second family. I am 20 years old and having a pretty invasive surgery to my jaw was quite nerve-racking, but instantly from the first visit I found myself very comfortable. Dr. Carny is compassionate and personable and his sidekick, Taurus, she's superb as well. I was extremely pleased with both of them and their teamwork. From my first appt to my last the time was very fast and efficient. The whole office is full of smiles and warmth. I wish that more doctors offices were like this one, they are passionate and caring to every need and they listen to you and they don't rush you out till you are done asking questions. I thank Dr. Chris Carney for having such a precise hand in his work because after having my Implant Surgery I only had to take prescription pain meds for one day and was in no pain after the second day, I was able to eat normal food on the other side of my mouth from day 3. Thank you ProSoft Implantology & Periodontist I give my heart out to you guys.

Dr. Carney and his staff were very friendly and very professional in working with me for my treatment plan. They made sure, both before and at my appointment, that I was physically okay (temperature check, questions about any contact with SARS-CoV-2, etc.) for my appointment.

The first thing is, the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable no need to feel any anxiety about someone going to probe your teeth with sharp instruments. The casual atmosphere however is not a substitute the professional manner Dr. Carney and his staff conduct their business. Very satisfied! A 9 on a scale of 10. In my book only Jesus gets a perfect 10.

Friendly but professional. Didn't wait for appointments. Tooth extraction done with very little pain afterwards. Instructions for pre and post procedures thorough and easy to understand.
