Oral and Maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, the surgeons at Progressive Oral Surgery & Implantology of Long Island manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. In addition, they practice a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

Dr. Lee is a fantastic doctor and surgeon. I had a more difficult, non-routine wisdom tooth extracted today and he did a beautiful job. He explained all my surgical options before this point- went over the x-rays and CT scan, and made sure I had all the information necessary to make the best decision.
He has had the honor of presenting some of his work at the national meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as being published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has partaken in many community outreach programs, including dental outreaches to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras. He has also been a part of Healing the Children, where he provided cleft lip and palate surgery for underprivileged children and adolescents in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
With the backing of his tremendous experience, Dr. Petros Panagos has achieved the honor of becoming board-certified and being named a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the NYS Dental Association, and the Nassau County Dental Society. He is active in maintaining continuing education to stay on the cutting edge of his field, as well as keeping current in his Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. LI Pulse has recognized Dr. Panagos as a Top Dentist in the Long Island Area. In addition, Dr. Panagos is PALS certified.
He currently lives in Nassau County with his wife and three children. He has many interests outside of the office including sports, outdoor activities, and most importantly, enjoying time with his family.

Dr. Rastegar himself is an amazing person and a great dentist, I did not feel any pain during my tooth extraction and implant done together. In 30 minutes amazing experience. His team is also amazing, during the day of my surgery, my insurance was no longer accepted at the office, and I had to pay out of pocket, the team was able to help me get some reimbursement back.

I truly cannot say enough positive remarks about Dr. Rastegar and his staff. I was very nervous but they were so informative, calm and caring. They made my overall experience great. I would definitely recommend to anyone that needs oral surgery.

Dr. Rastegar and staff are by far the best team around. They're professional, accommodating with appointments, and pleasant. My husband and children have all been to Dr. Rastegar to remove wisdom teeth. He explained everything thoroughly before starting and made the entire experience relatively painless. Anyone I have referred has had the same positive feedback!

I was very pleased with the service Progressive Oral Surgey provided. The reception desk was very helpful, the assistants were very knowledgeable and the surgeons make you feel comfortable, especially for someone like me, who gets extremely nervous at dental offices.

The great neck office has a lot of improving to do! The office had no flowing air for over an hour. We are living in a Covid world; air purifiers and flowing air should be a requirement. The treatment of the elderly needs to be improved. A veteran needed help filling out forms because he couldn't see and when he asked for help the receptionist was rude. Mind you there are three receptionists here. Having the required forms in large print would be helpful for anyone who may be vision impaired. Also, another elderly woman who had been asleep for almost an hour asked about her appointment and not one receptionist came to see about her status. Busy office or not, the office can do better.

I was referred to Progressive Oral Surgery by Baldwin Dental Arts to receive 3 dental implants with bone grafting. Thanks to Dr. Rodney Rastegar, I experienced minimal discomfort, swelling and pain throughout the entire procedure. I would highly recommend Progressive Oral Surgery if you are considering dental implants.

Went to see Dr Pezzollo today, this was my 2nd time to see him. What an amazing caring Doctor. His staff got me in to have a tooth extracted in the last min. Bridget, Mayra , Nicole & Danielle were amazing. Dr Pezzollo extracted the tooth fast and painless. I highly recommend this practice.

I called to schedule an appointment and the lady I spoke to she said that they accepted my insurance and made my appointment. Then when I called to request a different time the other lady I spoke to she said that they don't accept my insurance and that she dosen't see me on the schedule. Now imagine I took off that day from my work for NO REASON?

Spent about $20 on LIRR for this appointment. I arrived with a referal that said CBCT of teeth 9 & 10. I reiterated that I needed just THOSE teeth. Reception read and scanned my referal before returning it yet their 'trained technician' (there is no radiologist) did a general scan of the entire mouth, which was useless to my oral surgeon. I paid $350 for this and have to find another facility with competent and qualified professionals to re-do it, which will cost somewhere between $450-600 more! No one who received adequate services would be asking for a refund. . . I should not have to pay for this service TWICE-- I am not rich. I called to explain the situation and was refused refund and they explained that the 'full scan was correct' despite the specific teeth listed on the referal and angrily refused reimbursement or to even call my dentist to discuss it. That speaks volumes the type of practice this is that rather than admitting a mistake and correcting an error so that patients can recieve adequate medical care, they would rather take hundreds of dollars from you and never see you again. Imagine you paid even more than I did. . . Thousands of dollars and this happened to YOU. Unless the money is returned they deserve this review and the loss of buisness that comes from it.
