Oral and Maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, the surgeons at Progressive Oral Surgery & Implantology of Long Island manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. In addition, they practice a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

Dr. Lee is a fantastic doctor and surgeon. I had a more difficult, non-routine wisdom tooth extracted today and he did a beautiful job. He explained all my surgical options before this point- went over the x-rays and CT scan, and made sure I had all the information necessary to make the best decision.
He has had the honor of presenting some of his work at the national meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as being published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has partaken in many community outreach programs, including dental outreaches to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras. He has also been a part of Healing the Children, where he provided cleft lip and palate surgery for underprivileged children and adolescents in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
With the backing of his tremendous experience, Dr. Petros Panagos has achieved the honor of becoming board-certified and being named a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the NYS Dental Association, and the Nassau County Dental Society. He is active in maintaining continuing education to stay on the cutting edge of his field, as well as keeping current in his Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. LI Pulse has recognized Dr. Panagos as a Top Dentist in the Long Island Area. In addition, Dr. Panagos is PALS certified.
He currently lives in Nassau County with his wife and three children. He has many interests outside of the office including sports, outdoor activities, and most importantly, enjoying time with his family.

I had Dr. Gene Pezzollo and that man saved my life i had broken wisdom teeth and one cavinty he pulled out i was under sadation for the experience i will say if he even see u start to wake up he gives more i did he litterly was like i got this and i was out im trying to contact the office for my prescription there busy but yea if you're insurance covers definitely go here and ask for Dr. Gene Pezzollo

The dentist and dental assistant here are great! But the billing department is ruthless. I believe that they lie and make up charges just to take money from you. I had been told I needed to put $150 deposit down to retain my next appointment and was told if I come I will have it returned to me. Then they tell me it was used for something else when I inquired about it, but didn't reach out to me or send anything in writing as to why they used $150 deposit before taking it. That to me is very shady and they just can't be trusted. You need to get everything in writing and they have poor customer services skill. Try to avoid dealing with billing at all cost.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful staff from the receptionist to the doctors who took care of me today. I came in with an infection and my face was swollen I didn't know what to do not only did the staff book me an emergency appointment and allow me to work on my payment the doctor was very nice professional and he healed the part of my face and explain to me everything else that had to happen. I am eternally grateful for such customer service, and true commitment to their patients and making me feel like family. I would recommend this place to anybody come see how great this place is!!!!

Some of the reviews on here had me pretty worried going into the procedure, but I'm very glad I went. Everyone was comforting and helpful and the office looks brand new.

Terrible after waiting 1month for my appointment and they received approval letter from my insurance now 1hour before my appointment they call to tell me I have to pay out of pocket almost 1,500. Unbelievable Very unprofessional

Dr pizzola was so awesome my daughter needed a special CAT scan x-ray of her upper jaw and it was very costly since he found no tooth he made it free of charge they really work with you he is such a professional and a great surgical doctor I recommend him any day of the week

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Panagos! He is very friendly, kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. He has done work on myself and my husband, with great results. He explains everything in detail, and ensures your safety and comfort throughout the procedure. He spends time answering any questions you may have and encourages you to call him if you experience any problems. He truly makes you feel at ease!!! I have also found all staff to be pleasant as well!

I had 4 teeth removed that were broken off below the gum surface. This could have been a gruesome surgery if it was not for the talented hands of Dr. Petros Panagos. The entire staff of the Garden City facility are very professional and friendly. The IV sedation was excellent so I want to also thank the anesthesiologist. The overall impression as a fist time customer is nothing less than EXELLENT! There was no discomfort or pain after the surgery and I was able to get back to my normal routine quickly. They have adequate parking also. THANK YOU DR. PANAGOS!

Went there on advice from my dentist to get 2 teeth pulled and options for teeth replacements. The MD was very rushed. Seemed like he was too busy to answer any questions I had about what comes next. I had to ask him twice to slow down and answer my questions. If you pay by credit card they will charge you a 3% fee. They did not inform me of all the other things they were going to charge me for ahead of time. Cost me over $ 550 to pull 2 teeth. Not going back. They seem to be only interested in taking your money and kicking you out the door.

I had my tooth extracted today and was extremely nervous. I was greeted by an Angel named Jodi. She has such a warm, funny, compassionate and professional disposition. I totally forgot why I was there. They are very lucky to have her. Dr Panagos was so friendly and professional. He put me at ease as soon as he walked in. He has a true passion for what he does and I would never go anywhere else. Thank you for turning a scary experience into a pleasant one. You guys are the best even the girls at the front desk. Jennifer from their office needs to learn how to speak with clients. Their office staff is horrible when it comes to billing questions. My son has autism and we asked for him to see the same dentist he previously worked with but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. They gave him the same doctor he had a consultation with and not the one who actually did the previously work. This new dentist did not have enough patience with him to actually perform the work but wants us to pay for his time and equipment used.

On the first visit the Doctor Rastegar took an x-ray and gave me an estimate on tooth extraction, bone graft and implant. The next time I visited for actual tooth extraction and bone graft procedure, I was told that my request for bone graft and implant claim was denied by my health insurance, resulting over $500 more out of pocket than estimated. Nobody from the surgeon's office notified me about it, they claimed they sent out a letter to me but they couldn't find the said letter when I asked for a copy in their system. Eventually Doctor Rastegar came out and talked to me...by lying to my face saying he never gave me an estimate. I'm done with these guys, I'd rather give my business to somewhere that's honest.

Calling and calling put on hold never picked up. My wife was 20 minutes late navigation from website took me in circles to a wrong location.Called the office was put on hold. My wife was told "Your Gonna Have to Waite a long long time" she wasn't kidding she waited 1 and half hours. I wouldn't recommend this place if your slightly late because you will be punished, secretary's are not helpful. Thank You Lawrence J. Schiraldi
