Dr. Reem S. Shafi, CEO, Two Rivers Dental is the epitome of modern dentistry. She received her dental degree in 1998 and is a proud alumna of the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. After her graduation, she relocated to Chicago, IL and opened her first dental practice by 2004. During that year of running her own practice, Dr. Shafi realized she had much more potential and decided to open a second practice. Now, a decade later, Dr. Shafi owns several practices, all of which are located in and around the Chicago area. Her company now employs over 140 employees and 30 dentists.
During the course of her professional career, Dr. Shafi has won numerous awards including her induction into Temple University Fox School of business League for Entrepreneurial Women Hall of Fame for the year 2013.
Dr. Peterson specializes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and treats a wide variety of patients of all ages. He has been placing dental implants since 1987, has extensive experience in implantology, and has successfully treated many dental implant patients throughout Chicagoland.
Dr. Peterson graduated with a degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School. He furthered his training and education through a program focused in Anesthesiology, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Cook County Hospital College of Surgery.
Dr. Peterson enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His hobbies include traveling, tennis, skiing and the outdoors. Dr. Peterson also practices law and teaches at a university.
Dr. Virji is originally from Toronto, Canada, where she found a passion for orthodontics since the age of 13. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Dr. Virji went on to earn her DMD degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL in 2017. Dr. Virji then began practicing general dentistry for 1 year in Toronto before returning to Chicago and pursuing orthodontics at UIC Orthodontic Program. Dr. Virjis dedication for her profession led to her winning 3rd Place Nationwide for the 2021 Dr. William R. Proffit Resident Scholar Award while at UIC. While Dr. Virji practices orthodontics full time, she also works as part time faculty at the University of Illinois Chicago Orthodontic Department.
Dr. Virji is passionate about all areas of orthodontics, but shes especially interested in the advanced technologies that orthodontics is moving toward. Focusing on advanced technologies allows Dr. Virji to provide her patients with the best experience and results.

I called this office because my regular dentist could not do an extraction and they gave me this number. The secretary taking phone calls at Prosmiles this morning at 9:45 AM. was beyond confident she could point me in a direction to get an extraction. After calling dental offices all morning to find someone to do the extraction, I asked her repeatedly, "are you confident this office is going to be able to pull it today". She replied "yes" that I would be able to be seen today and get the problem resolved. Come to find this office doesn't even do emergency extractions. So when I called back to confront her about the misguided information in hopes there was another route; she put me on hold for 5 minutes and hung up on me. I don't know why she was so confident I could be seen. When she finally stopped hanging up on me she said "another patient was just able to be seen there", as if it's gonna be the same for everyone. I am tired of being denied help by so many dentist offices it's insane the amount of businesses that can't even do a simple extraction. After all wisdom teeth should be a no brainer. It's common. All she had to do was apologize for the misguided information and I wouldn't have snapped but the fact that she tried to ignore me by hanging up repeatedly was all around disrespectful. I'm just a person in pain trying to find help.

Do not go here. The technician attempted to take my x-rays with the mouth sensor for 30 minutes. My head wasn't supported with how I was instructed to sit so my neck started to really hurt. She spoke so quietly I couldn't understand her and she'd get snappy when I didn't hear her. With the neck pain and frustration with the tech I got so overwhelmed I started to cry silently but I don't think they noticed. Now for the worst part. The dentist then did the cleaning for a total of 30 seconds, I'm not kidding. She took the needle thing and in 4 long sweeps scraped along where my teeth met my gums. Then said "the tech will floss and polish you and we'll see you in 6 months." That's it?! I haven't been to the dentist in 2 years so my teeth have quite a bit of plaque build up. I asked the technician if that was normal and she said "yeah, you're teeth are good!" And the girl in training chimed in "maybe you're thinking of a deep cleaning?" The technician didn't even floss me then put polish on me. I'm only allowed 2 visits per year so that was a waste of a visit. Doesn't the assistant usually do the cleaning and the dentist just picks what they missed? So odd. I'm considering contacting my insurance to let them know the visit was a waste in terms of dental health.

Dr. Shellac and her dental assistant Gabriella where amazing I never had a dentist give me the type of treatment plan and counseling to repair my dental needs and bring my smile back to life...thank you for everything she was very polite I had no issues after my extraction...felt no pain during the process I was blessed to meet her ...I would recommend her to all my friends and family I had a great experience!

I called the office to make an emergency appointment. Not only did they get me in the next day, the doctor was amazing explained everything I needed to know.! The girls at the front desk were amazing as well. They gave me a breakdown of any out-of-pocket costs and then scheduled me for my next appointment without any hesitation or issue. I have never had such a smooth visit to a dentist office before! I'm actually looking forward to getting my treatment completed now!

I had my wisdom tooth extracted by Dr. sheblak and she is absolutely amazing. Tim assisted and he was also amazing & so kind. Dr. Sheblak made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during the whole procedure and not to mention she got my tooth out within 10 seconds. I highly recommend everyone go to her if you can!

Where to begin...I haven't been to a dentist in probably over 15 years. I truly have suffered through pain and yet I refused to make a visit with any dentist. The fear and embarrassment was my making my situation worst. Thankful I was referred to Pro Smiles. I almost didn't come because fear was always a big issue. I can't express how grateful I am for Dr. Sheblak and her assistant Gabriella. Dr. Sheblak is genuine and has true compassion for me and my anxiety. She speaks calmy and is very patient, making sure I understand everything she is doing. Gabriella is just as amazing. She held my hand through it all keeping me calm. I can't express this enough. If you have anxiety with dentist please consider making your visit to Pro smiles. The staff is amazing and I can't believe I'm finally doing this! I'm grateful to have them as my team to repair my damaged teeth.

This is my first review ever written, and I hope this helps somebody. This is literally the worst dentist I have ever been to. Due to my insurance, I have a limited selection of where I can be seen, but this is by far the worst I've ever been to. The front desk girls are super nice and the dental assistant I had was extremely kind as well. I wish I remembered her name. The dentist however, was rude, unprofessional, and made me so uncomfortable. I was basically forced into doing more work than I was comfortable with, when I was only there to get a cleaning. Before my fillings were done, the 'dentist' was looking at my X-rays asking which tooth was which because she couldn't identify, and arguing with the assistant. I was given novocaine and then afterwards handed a paper to sign for consent. I suffer from extreme anxiety, and had a panic attack. During the procedure, I saw the 'doctor' going in with another syringe of something. When I asked what was in it, she told me 'don't worry about it'. Along story short, it's the next day, and I'm positive my tooth is drilled down to the nerve, because it is so painful. I will NEVER be back, and if I can recommend anything, it is to never go to this location.

The front desk receptionists are top tier but the dentist that is there is very rude, dismissal about my concerns, she talks loud enough for others can hear on the outside in lobby. I asked for a cancer screening because of a lump in the roof of my mouth and she refused. when asked to feel my soft palate, she felt for my tongue as If she does'nt know the anatomy of the mouth. I had to take her finger to show her what was wrong. and she says she does'nt see or feel a lump. smh you're just a number to her, she could care less.. her whole aura is negative. she wears a whole scuba suit but never uses the shield.
