Dr Ketaki Shah graduated from New York University in year 2000. She has been practicing in Elgin area for about 15 years. With experience of more than 17 years Dr. Shah has kept up to date on many continuing education courses,ensuring that her patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.

I began seeing her 3 years ago when I first moved to Illinois, and to say the least, Dr. Shah is the best dentist I have ever had. I have a tight schedule and can only come in the evenings, but she has always been very accommodating with scheduling and also has short wait times. Whenever I go in, I always receive efficient and high quality service. You can really tell that she does everything she can for her patients and cares about her work. Dr. Shah really makes me feel welcomed every time I come and the caliber of care here at Prism Dental Care is truly unmatched elsewhere. Highly recommend!

While Dr. Shah is very nice and very friendly, the work she does is bad. I unfortunately realized this too late, and shame on me. I had been going to her for almost 9 years and always wondered how my visits there were so much faster than at any other dentist I had visited before and why my teeth didn't feel as clean afterwards as they had at previous dentists. But, I figured, I'm not a dentist, what do I know? Well, I found out recently when I went to a new dentist why... they discovered that the fillings that Dr. Shah had done were terrible and not sealed properly and my teeth were decaying underneath. Dr. Shah had also recently told me that I needed a deep cleaning due to plaque build up and supposedly did a "deep clean", it took 30 minutes and I ended up owing $160 out of pocket after insurance. I also had a red spot on my gums for years that Dr. Shah was not concerned with, even when it started getting larger. This is what finally triggered me to go to a new dentist. At the new dentist (only a few months later) I found out that there were still large amounts of plaque and that they couldn't even tell a deep cleaning had been done and that there is no way the plaque could have built up in the short amount of time between the "deep clean" Dr. Shah had done and then (also, they said there is no way a deep cleaning could be done in 30 minutes... it should take 3 hours to do properly!). So, now I have to have it re-done properly and pay all of it out of pocket as insurance only covers it every 2 years. This new dentist also referred me to an oral surgeon as she believes the red-spot may be pre-cancerous! So, trust me here and go to a different dentist, one who will take their time and do things correctly. Nice or not, she isn't doing a thorough job and I wish I had listened to my gut way sooner.

Fantastic Dentist! Best I ever had (I'm 65). My mouth has has terrible issues, over the years and I have bounced from one bad dentist to another. Finally I found one I am extremely pleased with. I had a cavity on the front of my front top tooth (the one between the middle and canine teeth). It was very visible and I was concerned how well it could be repaired. The Doctor did a superb job and when I showed a family member she was surprised at how great it looked from 3 hours before. She also took care of an extraction years ago. Also I currently have no dental insurance and her price was very fair. Highly recommend.
