Priority Dental - General dentist in Casper, WY

I was raised in Casper, Wyoming, and graduated from Natrona County High School. I gained my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie and my D.D.S. from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Training includes a one year general practice residency at the VA hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, with special emphasis in oral and maxillofacial surgery and trauma. I moved back to Casper with my wife Melissa in 1998 and we started Priority Dental. In 2004, we opened our new state of the art facility where we are able to focus on providing unparalleled oral health care for Central Wyoming.

My special interests of dentistry revolve around implantology and the oral surgery aspects of dentistry. With well over 1,500 dental implants placed and restored, I have become a leader in the community in this discipline and Im one of a very few dentists that not only places, but restores dental implants. Other areas of interest in the field of dentistry for me are the treatment of complex full mouth reconstructions, TMJ disorders and diagnosis, and adult/child handicap hospital-based dentistry. It is with great pride that I have privileges and operate out of the Casper Surgical Center and Wyoming Medical Center on a regular basis on these special needs patients. I take great pride in the extensive continuing education that I complete on a yearly basis to stay current with the ever changing practice of dentistry.

My personal life is fulfilled with love of faith and family. Melissa and I have three beautiful children, two daughters and one son. I have always enjoyed the outdoors with hunting and fishing as well as being an accomplished pilot holding a private and instrument rating. It is my goal to live life to the fullest never taking a single day for granted. It is with this mindset that I so much enjoy my family and my practice equally.

Love where you live; love what you do. This is the motto by which I live life. I love what I do because every day I get to inspire and help people achieve their optimal health. It just so happens that I practice dentistry.

My wife and I moved to Casper in 2009. We love Wyoming! We love the people, the culture, the open spaces, the seasons, and the blue sky. So much so that we wanted our two kids to grow up in Wyoming. I love competing in challenging athletic events such as long distance trail runs, intense mountain biking races as well as multidisciplinary events such as the Casper Strong.

I love helping people reach their optimal health goals. Dentistry is the perfect avenue in which to achieve this. All too often people wait too long to see a dentist due to fear of being judged or due to their perception of hopelessness. What I love most about helping these people is showing them compassion and empathy and giving them options on how to treat their condition. Listening and understanding their needs is the platform on which I operate.

If youre not moving forward, youre moving backward. This is especially true in dentistry, where research supported improvements are constantly emerging. I feel that it is my professional obligation to my patients to provide the best treatment modalities available at that time. This means that I am dedicated to lifelong learning through continuing education. Did you know that the State of Wyoming requires zero (0) hours of education for a dentist to renew his license? Because I believe in lifelong learning, I dedicate at least 80100 hours of education every year.

Doing good in the community is fundamental as a healthcare professional. I am passionately involved with Smiles for Life (a nationwide charity geared towards underprivileged children), Smiles for Kids (a local organization focused on orthodontic care for children), Give Kids a Smile (Community Health Center of Central Wyoming), Health Care for the Homeless, Crown Council organized, dentistry-based humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic, T-19 and Medicaid programs.

A beautiful smile can light up a room. Let me help you achieve a smile that does exactly that! My passion for dentistry stems from a foundational interest in whole body health and well-being. I find oral health to be a gateway to overall health, and it rarely gets the attention it deserves. The correlation between gum disease and other illnesses such as heart and lung disease has always served as an inspiration for me to prioritize educating my patients about the importance of oral health. Im also passionate about helping my patients create a beautiful smile. I take pride in fabricating functional and esthetic restorations, and I strive to help my patients build the smile of their dreams. I would love to share my passion for dentistry with you, and Id love to hear about your passions too!

A little about me: I was raised in Douglas, WY, and went to the University of Wyoming for my undergraduate studies (Go Pokes!). In 2016, my wife and I moved to Lincoln, NE, where I attended dental school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. In addition to my studies, I interned at clinics in low-income areas, volunteered abroad in Jamaica, and rotated at family dental practices in Wyoming and Nebraska. Four years later, my wife and I decided to return to the great state of Wyoming to start our professional careers. Casper has welcomed us with open arms, and I am blessed to work as a healthcare provider in this community.

Outside the office I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors with my wife and our two dogs. Bird hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing are some of my favorite activities. I hope Ill see your smile on the golf course or on the slopes!

If I could give less than one star I definitely would. I feel like we were lied to from the moment we walked in. They asked for my insurance which I gave to them and I asked if that insurance was accepted, they said yes that they accept all insurances. My child needed extensive work so we scheduled it for surgery. 3 months goes by and the Monday before surgery they call to ask for 3,000+ dollars as they dont take my insurance. So even after I asked if they took our insurance and waited 3+ months for surgery they lied to us and we wasted precious time on get my child's teeth fixed.

Dr. White helped me get my horrible bothersome tooth out. He did great, made sure I was numb! Let me keep the tooth. And I only paid about $300 with NO insurance, practically a walk in appointment. Thank you!!!!

It was 5:30pm on a Monday evening and my 4 year old wrecked his bike and obviously also wrecked his two front teeth. I called Priority Dental to see if they could get him in. They said bring him right away. The front desk staff was amazing and very helpful with paperwork. The Dental Assistant was so gentle with him while taking the x-ray, and Dr. White gave us several options for treatment. I highly recommend Priority Dental, especially for your emergency dental needs! They even called the next day to check on him and make sure we have follow-up care!

(Posting for my wife who visited on 1/5/21) - I am terrified of dentists. I had to get an emergency tooth extraction done and I have to be honest, everyone was so patient with me and making sure I was comfortable and ok the entire time. I didn't have to wait long and before I knew it, we were done. I am so impressed by their compassion and empathy and made the experience less frightening for me. Thank you so much for the help and for getting me in quickly! I truly appreciate you all!

Best dentist I've ever been to, Dr Baker and his staff are very friendly, polite, respectful and professional they take the time to explain everything and answer all your questions, I went 5 years without any teeth until I qualified for the dental lifeline service I'm so grateful for everything they did for me, Dr Baker didn't just give me my teeth back he gave me my smile back and my self confidence back for that I'll be eternally grateful not just to Dr. Baker but to everyone involved in making this possible. I would recommend them to anyone.
