For 31 years, Dr. Dennis Kaivo has been setting the highest standards for exceptional dental care. Highly educated, he graduated in 1980 with his dental degree from the University of Minnesota. To keep up-to-date on the latest techniques, technologies and advancements in dentistry, Dr. Kaivo maintains memberships in many professional organizations. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Twin Cities Periodontal Study Club, Midwest Study Club, Bloomington Study Club and Biolase Study Club. In his personal life, Dr. Kaivo served in the Army Reserve for 22 years. He is now a retired major who enjoys traveling, photography, boating and sports.
Dr. Jennifer Hummel is a Minnesota native, having grown up in Minnetonka. She graduated with honors from Gustavus Adolphus College where she played hockey. She attended dental school at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she graduated with distinction. After finishing school, Dr. Hummel worked for 3 years at a childrens clinic in Minneapolis, working with kids of low-income families. Her gentle and caring nature allows her to excel in providing children with positive dental experiences. Dr. Hummel joined Preserve Parkway Dental in 2009. She and Dr. Kaivo work very well together, as they practice very similarly. To stay current with the changing field of dentistry, Dr. Hummel belongs to many professional organizations and study clubs. When not in the office, Dr. Hummel enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids and dog, Nacho. She loves sculpting, skiing, and playing broomball and hockey.

Dr. Dennis Kaivo and Dr. Jennifer Hummel offer a full range of services tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including digital x-rays and a Waterlase dental laser that allows many procedures to be done without the drill or anesthetic. I got in on time, the hygienist was very pleasant and gentle. And Dr Kaivo was his usual funny and pleasant manners. We've been going to him for 40+ years. I guess that means we love him & Preserve Parkway Dental.

This is hands down the best dentist office I've ever been to. I've had both Dr. Kaivo and Dr. Hummel for everything from a basic cavity to a root canal. Not only do they do incredible work, but for someone with an extreme fear of dental work, they have made every single experience so comfortable and comforting. They're kind, considerate, anticipate your needs, use comforting language, and work as slowly as you need them to. After my root canal, Dr. Hummel even called me at 7:30pm on a Friday night to make sure I was still feeling okay. No joke - best dentists ever!

My families and I have been with Dr Kaivo for more than 30+ years, but never been a single time, we felt unhappy of the service that we received! Dr Kaivo even took the time during his most busy time to make a special phone call to follow up on his patient, because he just want to make sure no issue after his patient arrived at home! That is amazing, you don't see many Doctor will do that now a day! Again, Thank You so much to Doctor Kaivo and his staffs for all your service and care that you have provided to all of us! We are so fortunate to know you and receive your amazing service and care for this past 30+ years and many more years to come...Emily!

Dentists and one particular hygentist are excellent, but office staff is horrible and completely unhelpful. I decided to pull my family from their practice after 6 years because I just can't deal with the stupidity of the office staff anymore. Missinterpreting HIPPA and being unworkable for families are some of their main flaws.

I can't say enough good things about this place and am glad I found it. I tried the "chain" dentists and another place for a few years and always felt like just a fast food customer - in and out quickly as possible. There was no getting to know you as a person. Maybe that's something you're after, but I'm not. The care and consideration I get going to Preserve Parkway is top notch. It makes going to the dentist all the more enjoyable.
