I grew up here in Southern California. I earned a bachelors degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine in 1984. In 1988, I earned my doctoral degree in dental sciences at UCLA. I went on to earn my certificate in the specialty of orthodontics from the University of Connecticut in 1990.
In 1993, I opened my private practice in Oxnard, California. The practice became known as Custom Smiles Orthodontics. In 2011, I partnered with Dr. Thomas Lee, a good friend, to form Premier Orthodontics. I now have an office in Carpinteria as well, so we can serve communities from Goleta and Santa Barbara, Ojai, and Ventura to Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Newbury Park, and surrounding areas. I am a huge believer in continuing education. I am a perpetual student and spend hundreds of hours each year learning about new procedures and incorporating them into my practice. Many dentists and other specialists refer patients to me because of my expertise in the use of two new technologies: Invisalign and SureSmile. I am Ventura Countys most experienced Invisalign orthodontist. I have have successfully treated more than 1,500 Invisalign cases.
Because of my experience with Invisalign, I was featured for five years in Invisaligns first nationwide television advertising campaign. We are also the areas leading experts in the use of SureSmile, the robotic wire-bending software that enables us to treat our patients with better results in less time than traditional braces.
I regularly lecture to general dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and students at our local colleges. I am a member of the Super Schulman Study Group, an elite group of the nations most successful orthodontists who openly share their knowledge and expertise with fellow members.
I am married with four kids and live in Camarillo. I spend most weekends at the soccer field or the volleyball courts with my daughters. In my free time, I also enjoy scuba diving for lobster, fishing, camping, fixing things, and motorcycle riding. I have a great surfboard collection, but Im not too good at surfing yet. I am also a committed fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the UCLA Bruins, and the L.A. Lakers.

Child should have gotten braces off by now. Going on 3 years ..practice doesn't have needed wire, so delayed progress. Ready for this to be done. I had braces years ago and I was seen monthly for adjustments. Every appointment is 6-8 weeks apart. Long and slow. I would take her to another clinic, but braces are paid for already.

We were able to get in quickly for the appointment. The staff are great and professional. My daughter is happy with her Invisalign and is able to adhere on the schedule. We have no issue getting an appointment and they are also very accommodating.

My twelve year old was referred to this office, to start treatment (braces). From the first appointment (X-rays) to the actual treatment start date, I was extremely pleased. They're very organized, professional and friendly. I'm excited to start this part of my sons journey, with them. I feel confident that we chose the right Orthodontist office. My son has been missing two brackets for the last 4 months. Finally had an appointment last week and they couldn't even fix them. I took time off from work and him out of school and all they could do was change his colors. They told him they would do his brackets at his next appointment but they've said that the last two appointments. Wish I could tell them I'll pay them my next payment at his next appointment

Office staff was friendly! We were there for a consultation. One of my two kids needed to start right away. They fit us in within 30 minutes and started our process quickly. All staff was friendly, answered my questions, and did great to alleviate my kid's nervousness and fears!

Do NOT waste your money here. Front desk staff are rude and act as if you are a bother just by being there. This office is only open 2 days a week what a joke! There is only one Orthodontist working there. They said grace period is 15 minutes and suddenly now it's 10 minutes, no appointments until a month or more away. If I would've known how they operate I never would have came here! My younger son also will need braces and we will NEVER do business with these ppl again! Also, check the other reviews on other sites there are many regarding the front staff who seem to hate life and their job.

Everyone here is very professional and super friendly. They were able to answer any questions I had about my treatment and get me in and out in a timely manner. The Dr. was very confident and helpful. I'm glad to have them as my orthodontist and would definitely recommend premier.
