I grew up here in Southern California. I earned a bachelors degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine in 1984. In 1988, I earned my doctoral degree in dental sciences at UCLA. I went on to earn my certificate in the specialty of orthodontics from the University of Connecticut in 1990.
In 1993, I opened my private practice in Oxnard, California. The practice became known as Custom Smiles Orthodontics. In 2011, I partnered with Dr. Thomas Lee, a good friend, to form Premier Orthodontics. I now have an office in Carpinteria as well, so we can serve communities from Goleta and Santa Barbara, Ojai, and Ventura to Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Newbury Park, and surrounding areas. I am a huge believer in continuing education. I am a perpetual student and spend hundreds of hours each year learning about new procedures and incorporating them into my practice. Many dentists and other specialists refer patients to me because of my expertise in the use of two new technologies: Invisalign and SureSmile. I am Ventura Countys most experienced Invisalign orthodontist. I have have successfully treated more than 1,500 Invisalign cases.
Because of my experience with Invisalign, I was featured for five years in Invisaligns first nationwide television advertising campaign. We are also the areas leading experts in the use of SureSmile, the robotic wire-bending software that enables us to treat our patients with better results in less time than traditional braces.
I regularly lecture to general dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and students at our local colleges. I am a member of the Super Schulman Study Group, an elite group of the nations most successful orthodontists who openly share their knowledge and expertise with fellow members.
I am married with four kids and live in Camarillo. I spend most weekends at the soccer field or the volleyball courts with my daughters. In my free time, I also enjoy scuba diving for lobster, fishing, camping, fixing things, and motorcycle riding. I have a great surfboard collection, but Im not too good at surfing yet. I am also a committed fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the UCLA Bruins, and the L.A. Lakers.

Personal experience: The staff is well prepared for any other situation other than their practice. My daughter had a personal medical crisis recently, they called my work right away advised me of her condition. When I arrived the staff was expecting me gave me an update. I saw a medical professional assisting my daughter, and 3 or more staff members comforting her. They went to the urgent care downstairs for a wheel chair and didn't leave our side until we left. I have been a patient of Premier orthodontics for the past couple of years and I have nothing but positive things to say about this organization. I got braces in order cure many spaces that I had throughout my mouth and I am very satisfied with the work done. My teeth are straight as an arrow now and I have much more self-confidence. The staff, however, are the best part. Everyone, from the receptionists, dental technicians, doctors, and management are so nice. You can tell by the way they interact with patients that they really care about their patients, on both a professional and personal level. I would recommend anyone who needs cosmetic dental work to come here. You will be well taken care of on a dental and interpersonal level! Prices are also affordable!!

The wait times are bad, you never walk in on time, I've waited there for over an hour. You will not get an appointment for weeks if something gets loose in your mouth. Also, they had so many new Drs, that every time I go, they have a different opinion about my mouth, and they never take the time to read the charts, and I have to explain the past challenges every time I go. Hopefully now that they have a new Doctor, it will be better. Another thing I didn't like, they asked to share a review, but basically only if it's positive. If it's negative, then they ask you to come talk to them. I think the consumer has the right to hear the good and the bad.

Premier Orthodontics is AMAZING!!!!! Everyone from the Staff members, Orthodontic Hygienists, Orthodontic Doctors, Insurance specialists, Front Desk Dental Receptionist, X-ray tech specialists are all AMAZING!!!! FRIENDLY!!!! And PROFESSIONAL!!!! I have been going to Premier Orthodontics in Oxnard for years,since 2016. I went for my kiddos Phase I and now continuing to their Phase II. I had crowded teeth as a little kid, and my parents unfortunately couldn't afford to pay for braces. Unfortunately my genetics have passed down to my four Children. I was referred to Premier Orthodontics by my kiddos Dentist office. From the moment of my first visit for the consultation in 2016, I felt Trust, comfort, and relief with the affordable orthodontic treatment for my children. I myself also received a consultation for orthodontic treatment and am now almost a year into my treatment. I chose porcelain braces and I am over the top, Extremely Satisfied!!!!! I TRULY LOVE THIS OXNARD OFFICE, it's STAFF and Organization!!!!! I WILL continue to bring my family to Premier Orthodontics in Oxnard as it is almost a home away from home! Premier Orthodontics is a scam. My teeth were always crooked, had gaps, or sticking out. Tried getting better results using braces(additional money)which resulted in an orthodontist changing my wire the last minute to be crooked. I reported the incident and Switched back to Invisalign which resulted in the next orthodontist purposely giving me a GAP and then said I had to pay more to fix it. I originally paid the most expensive plan which covered 5 years. I was livid by the they did not honor the contract and did not refund me for the retainers I never received because I decided they would not get another penny from to fix their unethical intention. In the process of getting all the notes, their staff mistakenly sent me the photoshopped copy of my signatures on different pages in color versus the black and white copy they had sent me prior and had wrong information from their acts of forgery. Company is guilty of forgery, breaking contract for more money, a chipped tooth from the negligence of care from braces. Do not go here. The owner could care less about you. And based off of other reviews on here from all their locations, they have tried to scam others for additional money based off their contracts as well.

During my treatment I had 3 orthodontist oversee my progress 2 of them left to start their own practice. So I felt as if I wasn't given that optimal one on one experience Like most practices offer. I also had a tech misinform me on how I should be wearing my rubber bands. Which shifted my bite completely and caused delay towards my treatment. During the removal of my clear braces the techs took my impressions for my Invisalign retainer a week later. My teeth shifted my smile was not even and I addressed my concerns just to be ignored. I got the plastic Invisalign crooked retainers replaced with traditional steel retainers. That costed me $600 additional dollars. And with each check up I felt like the orthodontist kept making adjustments that didn't straighten my teeth completely. Staff didn't adhere to my frustrations and told me my treatment was considered complete according to paper work. And if I wanted a free evaluation to seek treatment again that was possible. Or my second option was to pay additional $75.00 for them to "adjust" my retainers. Who knows how many adjustments it will take to fix their mistakes.. In general this practice doesn't seem to suit adults and their needs. I only came here cause my general dentist referred me here for treatment. Hardworking adults look elsewhere this office targets mostly kids who's parents pay for everything with no questions asked.

We have had a great experience with the staff at premier orthodontics. Greg was the person who worked on my daughters mouth the most and he was her favorite. He took the time to explain everything he was going to do before he did it and that was very important to my daughter. She doesn't like it when doctors talk directly to me and exclude her from the process. The more informed she is the better prepared she can be for whatever it is they need to do. Greg was great and is our absolute favorite. He made sure my daughter was comfortable and as relaxed as could be through the duration of the appointment. Lala was someone else we liked as well. She was thorough like Greg and included my daughter in the process as well. Both Greg and Lala are outstanding.
