I grew up here in Southern California. I earned a bachelors degree in biological sciences from UC Irvine in 1984. In 1988, I earned my doctoral degree in dental sciences at UCLA. I went on to earn my certificate in the specialty of orthodontics from the University of Connecticut in 1990.
In 1993, I opened my private practice in Oxnard, California. The practice became known as Custom Smiles Orthodontics. In 2011, I partnered with Dr. Thomas Lee, a good friend, to form Premier Orthodontics. I now have an office in Carpinteria as well, so we can serve communities from Goleta and Santa Barbara, Ojai, and Ventura to Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Newbury Park, and surrounding areas. I am a huge believer in continuing education. I am a perpetual student and spend hundreds of hours each year learning about new procedures and incorporating them into my practice. Many dentists and other specialists refer patients to me because of my expertise in the use of two new technologies: Invisalign and SureSmile. I am Ventura Countys most experienced Invisalign orthodontist. I have have successfully treated more than 1,500 Invisalign cases.
Because of my experience with Invisalign, I was featured for five years in Invisaligns first nationwide television advertising campaign. We are also the areas leading experts in the use of SureSmile, the robotic wire-bending software that enables us to treat our patients with better results in less time than traditional braces.
I regularly lecture to general dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and students at our local colleges. I am a member of the Super Schulman Study Group, an elite group of the nations most successful orthodontists who openly share their knowledge and expertise with fellow members.
I am married with four kids and live in Camarillo. I spend most weekends at the soccer field or the volleyball courts with my daughters. In my free time, I also enjoy scuba diving for lobster, fishing, camping, fixing things, and motorcycle riding. I have a great surfboard collection, but Im not too good at surfing yet. I am also a committed fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the UCLA Bruins, and the L.A. Lakers.

This was our 1st visit & we had a 11:10 appt on a Friday. By 12 noon we had not been seen & when I inquired I was told we were being called in the next 5 mins & that there was no dentist working on Friday so it's just x-rays today. 15 mins later we were seen & then told someone would call me to discuss my sons results. This whole process just seemed like a waste of time to me. It was never communicated prior to the visit. If this had not been by referral from our pediatric dentist I wouldn't even consider going back.

Premier Ortho is great! My experience with them over the past 4-5yrs has been wonderful. Looking back to when my daughter first got her braces to now when she just recently had them taken off, it has been a great overall experience and I can't thank them enough.

Premier Orthodontics is a scam. My teeth were always crooked, had gaps, or sticking out. Tried getting better results using braces(additional money)which resulted in an orthodontist changing my wire the last minute to be crooked. I reported the incident and Switched back to Invisalign which resulted in the next orthodontist purposely giving me a GAP and then said I had to pay more to fix it. I originally paid the most expensive plan which covered 5 years. I was livid by the they did not honor the contract and did not refund me for the retainers I never received because I decided they would not get another penny from to fix their unethical intention. In the process of getting all the notes, their staff mistakenly sent me the photoshopped copy of my signatures on different pages in color versus the black and white copy they had sent me prior and had wrong information from their acts of forgery. Company is guilty of forgery, breaking contract for more money, a chipped tooth from the negligence of care from braces. Do not go here. The owner could care less about you. And based off of other reviews on here, they have tried to scam others for additional money based off their contracts as well.

A place you can relay and trust, all the staff; including front disk, medical staff, and everyone works in Children's choice and primer orthodontic are very friendly, helpful, and professional. I had the best experience of all time which them. The provided the best possible service to my children. I thank you.

I received a confirmation text at 12:12 PM confirming my 4:10 PM appointment when I arrived at 4:13 I was informed they were half to reschedule my appointment or I would have to wait 30 minutes the receptionist was very nice however the scheduler would not even turn around and give me the time a day and we're not acknowledge my 410 appointment at all

Very rude doctor . The main doctor always says he never had time for any procedure or that he isn't going to waste his time on his clients needs. Why are you a doctor then if your gonna be so ignorant and not help . Very rude never go to this place they wouldn't fix my sisters bracket today because it was "too late" and the doctor didn't want to. So they forced my sister to reschedule her appointment instead for their convenience.

My daughter is getting her invisalign treatment and it has been a excellent experience all the staff is really nice and so helpful especialy Jazmin Gonzalez who helped us with explaning the whole process of the payments and responded to any questions we had

We took our daughter in to get braces and ended up getting Invisalign. So far, it's been a wonderful experience! Yasmin gave us a tour of the office, was very warm and welcoming, and answered all of our questions patiently and professionally. She made my daughter comfortable immediately and was very kind and caring. She is also very knowledgeable about the services offered and was able to answer all questions in detail. Honestly, this has been the best experience that we've ever had at a dentist/Orthodonics office. The office is clean, comfortable, and bright. Everyone has been very professional and friendly. The office staff seems very organized and responsive. The orthodontist was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I recommend Premier Orthodontics in Natomas to anyone looking at getting braces or Invisalign.

I just went in to this office for a consultation on braces and I had a very positive first experience here. I was able to schedule this consultation last minute today and did not have to wait long to be seen. I especially liked working with the treatment coordinator Yasmin! She answered all of my questions and was very personable, making me feel good about the process for getting my braces! I am excited to start this process and I am feeling positive for my future with this office! Thank you!
