Born, raised, and college-educated in Europe-Romania, I won a Diversity Visa lottery in 1995 and, with it, the right to immigrate legally to the U.S. In 1999, I earned my doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, and my certificate in orthodontics from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 2001. I proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a general dentist and Captain from 2001 to 2004. Recently, I worked again for the military as a board-certified orthodontic contractor in Kaiserslautern, Germany, during a working sabbatical. I continue to learn by annually participating in numerous orthodontic education courses to bring the latest treatment methodologies to my patients.
I love the aesthetic focus of my specialty and the complexity of the cases I take on. My niche is designing new smiles to facilitate better breathing and facial harmony. I enjoy treating complex adult cases in an interdisciplinary setting: working with general dentists, periodontists, and oral surgeons to address severe problems.
I am also helping severe OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) patients minimize their dependency on CPAP machines, improve their smiles, aachieve a more harmonious jawline, enjoy a good nights sleep and an overall better quality of life.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my three children: Julia, Alex, and Johnny. They all had expanders and braces and seem to understand my work from the patients point of view. You may see them at different times helping in the office with various tasks: from instrument sterilization to assisting chairside or even doing some minor landscaping. When Im not at the office, I love to travel and experience new cultures. Trying ethnic foods, hiking, and riding my scooter off of the beaten path are among my favorite hobbies. I also enjoy DIY projects such as remodeling, gardening, cooking, streaming foreign movies, and attempting to bake cakes from scratch for my kids birthdays.

I hadn't seen a dentist of any kind in over 30 years. My issues are extensive. Doctor Radu has exceptional bedside manner with an equally wonderful way of explaining what exactly is needed short term and long term to generate the results I am looking for. Although she was unable to start work for me today, she was remarkably able to set me in the right direction to get started. Thank you Dr. Radu!

Dr. Radu and staff are wonderful. My children have been patients there since she started. She is an expert in orthodontic care with a passion for what she does. Staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Radu and her team are so caring and strive to provide the best for each client. As an original patient from 2005, I struggled to keep up with my retainer. Fast forward to today, I knew exactly who I was going back to. She helped correct my smile but also went the extra mile to help me recognize a breathing problem which I was able to seek care for and correct.

She is very compassionate because she is a mom herself. She works very hard to make sure that everyone that enters her office leaves with a winning smile. It's hard to find someone who actually cares and it's not just a job to her. She listens and address your questions/concerns.
