With over 15 years of experience I was trained in thefull scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery which includes dentoalveolar surgery(treatment of diseases of the teeth, soft tissue, and the jawbone), implantology, facial trauma, surgical correction of malocclusion (orthognathic) surgery, pathology, and the treatment of TMJ disorders.

I commenced my career at theSt. Johns Universityin Queens, NY, where I received both aBachelor of Science degree and a Certificate of completion from the Physician Assistant accelerated program. As a physician assistant, I worked in the Department of General Surgery at bothSt. Johns and Mary Immaculate Hospitals in Queens, New Yorkwhere I was immediately recognized by both patients and attending staff for my hard work and dedication to patient care. Through my work at Mary Immaculate Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, I was intimately involved in the integrated care of trauma patients, including those with facial injuries, an experience which spurred my interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I obtained myDoctor of Dental Surgery degree fromSUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, during which I was recognized byNYSSOMSfor my outstanding achievements in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I then completed anintegrated residencyinOral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where I also received mymedical degree.

Dr Tarek Korban, DMD, MD, is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive training in the broad scope of the speciality, including dentoalveolar and implant surgery, maxillofacial pathology, temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) diseases, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and facial cosmetic surgery.

Dr Korban strives to give his patients the best care possible, while educating and empowering them. His philosophy is that the patient-doctor relationship should be a team approach with the patient at the center.

He began his undergraduate education at McGill University inMontreal, Canada, then continued to Sherbrooke University before obtaining a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Montreal, where he graduated with multiple awards, including the Pierre Fauchard Academy annual award for outstanding scholarship and clinical research.

Following this, he pursued his medical degree (MD) at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He then completed a General Surgery internship, and a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital.

He is published in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the faculty at the Mount Sinai Hospital in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Otolaryngology, where he maintains hospital privileges and actively participates in resident education and training.

Dr. Amit Sood is from Wantagh, New York and received his Bachelor of Sciencein Biology, with a minor in psychology, in 2008 from the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Sood then completed his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut in 2012.Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Sood was acceptedinto thehighly accredited six-year Oral & Maxillofacial surgery program at the University of Connecticut.

During his residency, Dr. Sood earned a2-year certificate in General Surgery,along with completing 6 months of anesthesia training.He alsoreceived his Medical Degree (M.D.) in 2015 from the University of Connecticut.He went on to serve as chiefresident of the division of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeryin 2017.

During his residencytraining, Dr. Sood performed the full scope of Oral andMaxillofacial Surgery procedures, with emphasis onbone grafting anddental implant reconstruction,using the all-on-four approach for full arched fixed rehabilitation. Hedeveloped aparticular interest in the administration of anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, craniofacial trauma surgery, reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery, oraland maxillofacial pathology, along withconservative and surgical treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

Dr. Sood has lectured on various oral surgerytopics atConnecticutsociety meetings and has taught dental and medical students via lectures and hands-on surgical anatomy courses. He has also co-authored several book chapters in facial cosmetics textbooks, as well as articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Sood is certified in CPR- basic life support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).Dr. Sood is eligible to be a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Sood aims to provide compassionate care with his knowledge of the latest techniques in surgery, anesthesia and pain management.He prides himself on steadfast dedication to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.He recently moved to Stamford, CT withhis wife, Manasvi, who is a Physician Assistant (PA) in internal medicine. In his free time, Dr. Sood enjoys playing Basketball, swimming and spending time with his family and friends.
