Dr. Khalil was previously the chairman of the public relations committee for the Akron Dental Society, as well as a delegate to the Ohio Dental Association. He is a member of the Wadsworth Chamber of Commerce, and enjoys working with other business owners to improve the beautiful community of Wadsworth!
Dr. Shahir Khalil grew up in Akron, Ohio. His father was a veterinarian in downtown Wadsworth for nearly 40 years, and is currently retired in Akron. Dr. Khalil attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2000. He went on to a prestigious residency program at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton where, among other intensive training in the most advanced fields of dentistry, he earned a license in conscious sedation. As such, Dr. Khalil is one of less than 1% of dentists in Ohio with such licensure. He built his first dental office from the ground up in the Premier building. In fact, he named his practice after the building! In December of 2010, Dr. Khalil oversaw the construction of a brand new building for Premier Family Dental.
Dr. Khalil is an active member of Grace Church, North Campus. In his free time, Dr. Khalil loves to spend time with his beautiful daughter, Aliyah, and handsome son, Micah, who was adopted from Guatemala. He also enjoys biking, Crossfit and participating in church activities.

After being a patient with Dr. Khalil for more than a decade, I will no longer be seeing him. I originally went to Premier Family Dental because they do sedation dentistry and I suffer from extreme dental anxiety. I attempted to talk with the office manager about my problems, and was cut short. I tired to email the practice and speak with someone different about my concerns. Their response was that they can no longer accommodate dental anxiety and to go elsewhere. I worked with Dr. Khalil for years to build trust, and I'm very disappointed with this outcome.

After eighteen years with my dentist he moved to Pennsylvania, so finding a new dentist was going to be a new experience. My first visit to Premier was well beyond my expectations. They were excellent, office was very nice, the staff was very kind. Dentist was the cherry in the top... Thank you .. recommended very highly 5 star

The team at Premier Family Dental is second to none. They are very friendly and the staff and Dr Khalil do a fantastic job of explaining complex procedures in an easy to understand way. They also go above and beyond to help their patients when procedures don't go as planned. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for Dental Superiority in the Wadsworth area.

Been going there for 15 years with my family. I haven't been for a couple years since they permanently messed up my teeth resulting in all my orthodontic work being for nothing. But today the front desk women didn't realize my brother could still hear them talking after he got off the phone and they proceeded to talk about how he just shouldn't come in and they'd prefer that. So we won't be coming in again. I'd rather go to a place that values customers business and has a small semblance of professionalism.

Actually sad to write this review however people need to hear this. My entire family went to this office for 10 years. We know the people and have been satisfied until something went VERY wrong recently. Three months ago my husband went in for a routine (his first) cavity fill in the morning first thing. Doctor did the procedure and my husband went on his way. He came home that night and asked when the numbing was suppose to wear off I said well it should have already. One side of his mouth including his tongue was still numb. The next day he called the office. Never talked to the doctor but the front desk consulted with him and told my husband to call back the next day if still numb. Next day (now 2 days out) called back again front desk consulted with the doctor and said he has called in a prescription. He took the 5 day prescription with no change. NO CALL FROM THE OFFICE AND NOTHING FROM THE DOCTOR. He calls back to the office. Again another front desk to consult with the doctor. They now refer him to a specialist. He has been to this specialist for 3 months. We are paying for all this and now the specialist wants him to go to another specialist that can surgically fix the issue. All on our dime. My husband has permanent damage to his mouth (no feeling or taste on one side of his mouth which also causes slurred speech) from Dr Khalil. Not a single call from him to check on him and added cost of specialist and surgery. DO NOT GO HERE and if you are now change!

Hmm where to start. First time ever coming to this dentist and they permanently messed up my two front teeth. It's like they used the lowest grade tooth filling to fix my cavity in the world. My front two teeth are now very obviously two different colors. My front teeth look unfinished and are now very sensitive to cold and hot. I've had multiple cavities filled at Mcllvaine Dentistry and I can assure you none of my teeth that they fixed for me have gave me pain, look awful, and give me hot and cold pain sensations!!! Dr. Khalil is friendly but his work is definitely not too notch! Id literally go to any other dentist before stepping foot in Premier Family Dental again!

Beautiful office and wonderfully kind and caring people. Dr. Khalil explained everything and was very thorough and gentle. His assistant Marcy and he were caring and both had wonderful senses of humor. I recommend this office. My visit was an emergency and they got me right in. They have gained a new patient
