Preferred Dental of Cromwell is a family dental practice with a picturesque location in the heart of Cromwell, CT. Our office is proud to welcome patients of all ages seeking attentive and personalized dental care for themselves and their families. Led by Drs. Stanley Schulman, Jay Mestel, Jack Murphy and Matthew Fenigstein, we proudly provide comprehensive dental treatments to address a range of issues from the common to the most complex.
Lisa is a registered dental hygienist and a valued member of the dental team. Whether a patient has been coming to the office for years or it's their first time, Lisa uses her kindness and compassion to make her patients feel comfortable and valued. She deeply cherishes the relationships that she has developed with each patient she sees. Lisa also enjoys educating patients on preventive care that will allow them to reach a beautiful and healthy smile. Lisa received her degree from Tunxis Community College. She strives to keep current with advancements in dentistry by frequently attending continuing education classes. In her free time, Lisa has many interests, including hiking, boating, and snowmobiling. She also enjoys spending time with her German Shepherd and cat, reading, and watching a good TV show or movie.
Lori is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1993. Lori is passionate about oral health and provides clear, practical advice on how to achieve dental health. Lori shows compassion to all patients, whether they have been our patients for years or they are new to us. When Lori isnt at work, taking care of her husband and four children are her top priority. She also finds time for short-term mission trips. She has been with our practice since 2007.
As a dental health team member and a registered dental hygienist, Tess provides a warm and welcoming service to each and every patient that enters our facility. It is important to Tess that her patients feel valued and comfortable so she strives to offer each of them the highest caliber of care. Tess's focus is on providing exceptional dental healthcare, and she deeply values the relationships she has developed with patients over the last 21 years at Dr. Schulmans practice. When not in the office, Tess can be found collecting seashells and indulging on lobster, tacos, and margaritas with a salted rim!
Roney has been a part-time hygienist in our practice since 2012 when he received an associate degree in dental hygiene from Tunxis Community College. We were Roneys first clinical assignment after graduating from Tunxis and he has been with us ever since, providing excellent care to our patients. Originally from Ghana in Africa, Roney came to the U.S. in 1996 to pursue his American dream. When not working in the dental field, Roney is a licensed real estate agent, helping people find their forever homes. He enjoys spending time with his teenage daughter and playing soccer.
Melissa has been a dental assistant in Dr. Schulmans dental office for 12 years. She enjoys working in the practice because of the wide variety of procedures we do in order to help our patients keep their teeth healthy. She particularly enjoys working with our oral surgeon doing complex surgical procedures. When not working, Melissa enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and family, and relaxing at the beach.
Ania has been a dental assistant for 15 years. She studied at Dental Careers Institute and is certified in radiology and infection control. She was born and raised in Poland and came to the U.S.A. when she was 18 years old. She is a long-time resident of Plainville. In her free time, she likes to travel with her family and visit other countries.
I was welcomed to Preferred Dental of Cromwell in January of 2020. I am a Treatment Coordinator for the office. I have been in dentistry for the last 4 years. I enjoy interacting with patients and helping each patient with their individual needs. Patient Care is top priority, there's nothing better than a happy patient! Outside the practice I love spending time with my Husband & my 3 fur-babies, working out and shopping at Homegoods!
Taylor is a dental assistant transplant from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She is currently expanding her knowledge in the dental field to become a dental hygienist. Taylors priority is keeping patients comfortable and easing their stress as going to the dentist can be a difficult event. Being from the mountains, she loves to take her two young kids on hikes and explore new places throughout the east coast.

The dentists and assistants are excellent, I give them five stars. There is some kind of problem with their phone system or telephone staff. I have called numerous times trying to speak with someone and the phone rings a few times, stops ringing and no one answers. This is very frustrating.

The same office that consistently made me sit in the lobby 15-30 minutes after my appointment time, told me I had to reschedule because I showed up late for the first time in the 5+ years I've been going there. I do not recommend this office to any business professionals who run busy schedules.

I've been going to Preferred Dental of Cromwell for over 10+ years and I'm still ecstatic about how great their practice is. The hygienists are very professional and friendly and the Frontline staffing is phenomenal. I get asked all the time that why do I travel so far to see a dentist? When you get first class service like Preferred Dental gives I'm going to be a faithful customer, that's how good the practice is! Just got a cleaning and I feel so fresh and so clean! (cheering right now)!

This is my first time at Preferred Dental of Cromwell for my routine cleaning, and I was welcomed by wonderful staff! Chris did an awesome job taking my X-rays and he was so gentle and kind. Dr. Ayaz performed my cleaning and he was very mindful and thorough throughout the process. The office was very clean and nicely decorated for the Halloween. I love that each exam room had its own Hepa filter fan in it. I am grateful I had found this place for my family. Thank you for all that you do to help us keep our dental well-being healthy!

Instead of just pulling my tooth they're trying to get it so I have a root canal and then a crown where as all other dentists want to just yank it out!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had an appointment scheduled for about a week & they gave it up & told me my next appointment wouldn't available Wouldn't be until october. & it is only august 23rd. I have an infection in my teeth which caused my face to swell up. Now i have to deal with this until October. Very disappointed.

I have been a patient here for a few years now, great staff. Both Doc and my Dental Hygienist are very good. I had a billing issue a while back but it got resolved and no other issues. I like that you get text reminders and can fill out form online thus eliminating the "dreaded clipboard"!

Warning, they do not count covid as a good reason to cancel appointment. So imagine how many patients they see daily that are sick, bleh. This place only interacts with patients through text message. If you try calling it puts u through to an answering service which will instruct you to text the same phone number. This makes it impossible to cancel/reschedule appointments. Because it's impossible to get in touch with someone who's actually working in the office. I called one morning and told the woman on the line for the answering service I needed to cancel my appointment because a family member had covid. She said she couldn't cancel appointments and for me to text the office. I send a text explaining the same thing and I don't get a response. Then they later claimed I was a no call no show and billed me for the visit. A similar situation happened to a friend of mine a few months ago with their office as well. So if you think you've been exposed to covid and have an appointment with them just GO to it. Because you'll get stuck paying for the appointment either way. They will blame YOU and it will be YOUR fault you did not show.. As it seems they can only receive and respond to texts that have to do with scheduling an appointment. But if your canceling one you get ignored so they can play it off as if you just did not show up.

The staff and doctors were amazing! My husband broke his front tooth, and they got us in immediately. They temporarily fixed it so he did not have a hole in his smile. They took our insurance and no hassle at all. I would highly recommend this practice!

DONT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!!! The surgeon I believe his name was Murphy as he didn't even introduce himself took his finger and literally jammed it into my tooth that was broken and needed to come out. Put me in instant tears. Prior to that the assistant was telling me what to expect after.... she says u will be sick! Make sure u eat something. I had so much anxiety and nothing even happened yet. It gets better. Dinosaur Murphy couldn't find a vein to get my iv in so he says oh well I can't help u. U need to go to uconn!!!! No help from anyone there to try and get me an appointment. Just sent me on my way! There is much more but this review would be a short story!!! Don't go to this dentist!!!!

I was very happy with the friendliness, honesty and care that was given to me . It is so good to know that the quality of the care is still the number one priority. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dental office full of highly professional and caring people.
