Christopher Oswald was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington DC. He attended college at Virginia Tech where he graduated with honors, receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry. Upon graduation, he relocated to Boston, MA and attended dental school at Tufts University, accepting a United States Navy Health Professional Scholarship and later receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) in 2006.
That very summer, he reported to Camp Pendleton and completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). In 2007, he was assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and deployed to the Middle East.
After returning from deployment, Dr. Oswald decided to extend his military service and specialize in Endodontics. With the blessing of the US Navy Dental Corps, Dr. Oswald was granted the rare opportunity to interview and accept a civilian residency program. He selected and attended the University of Southern California where he served as the chief resident for both years and graduated with his Certificate of Endodontics in 2011.
Over the next 6 years, Dr. Oswald continued to serve as an Active Duty Endodontist at both Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Norfolk, VA and the North Island dental facility in Coronado, CA. His professional roles in this period led him to mentor dozens of recent dental school graduates and direct many Endodontic continuing education courses for hundreds of general practitioners.
After over 11 years of active-duty military service, Dr. Oswald is excited to enter into private practice while still serving in the Navy Reserves. Dr. Oswald continues to advance his education in Endodontics by pursing Board Certification status through the American Board of Endodontics. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society.
Outside of his professional career, Chris enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and most recently, triathlons. On the weekends, you might catch him running long distances around Mission Bay. He looks forward to re-discovering where his Navy career once began in Southern California and meeting the community of people that make Chula Vista and the greater San Diego area their home.

The most important thing to me is customer service and respect. Priscilla in the front office is a champion. His dental assistant was kind, gentle, and communicated efficiently. Dr. Oswald staff is a direct reflection of who he is as a doctor. I had a great experience would highly recommend him!

I have only had one other experience with Endodontists, but Dr. Chris Oswald was among the most courteous and empathetic healthcare professionals I've ever been treated by. The office was sleek, efficient and modern, and Dr Oswald made a diagnosis (mine required no treatment) while also showing me a page from a treatment textbook explaining the condition in a lot of detail. Truly above and beyond what was required

Best root canal experience ever! I was so relaxed, and almost fell asleep during the procedure, Dr.Oswald is very professional, he explains the procedure well, listens to the patient and excellent bedside manner, not only to patients i heard him said "thank you " many times to her assistant Belen who's also very professional and Brooke front desk lady is very efficient. The clinic is clean and has a calm vibe you'd think you're in a spa :) so relaxing. Overall more than 5 star rating! Excellent! Very commendable!, thank you so much Dr.Oswald-Mavis

Dr. Oswald never failed to amaze me! I always get bad anxiety with dental procedures in general. He made it smooth sailing. He explained my consultation very well. I felt very relaxed and calm during my root canal procedure. Go to him! He saved my tooth! Him and his staff are very kind. They gave me a great explantation to every question i had. Thank you dr. I've had several root canals over the past 15 years from at least 3 different endodontist. I can objectively say Dr Oswald is the best. He also employs the most competent, caring and helpful office and dental assistant staff. From the moment I called to make an apt, I was reassured that they truly cared to help me get assessed and treated if needed. Completing the online registration was easy and the medical history was a thorough questionnaire. Dr Oswald has a friendly, gentle, relaxed manner as he chats with you about your symptoms to determine if the root canal is really necessary. He truly seemed interested and not rushed. During the actual procedure, he and his assistant Priscilla offered explanations and continually checked to make sure there was no discomfort. No one wants a root canal but Precision Endontics staff do everything possible to lessen the trauma.

The level of professionalism that was exhibited by he and his staff is truly second to known. I actually fell asleep during the procedure! This practice is the gold standard. Dr. Oswald is very good at his job. He was able to fit me in to his schedule promptly and treated my tooth in two sessions. I feel great not having tooth and head pain. He managed to save my crown by drilling a very small hole to get to the site of infection in my tooth a roots. I loved that he was the one who worked on saving my tooth that I will have and enjoy for many many years

Was referred to Precision Endodontics for a root canal and was treated the same day. The experience was outstanding in all regards, Doc Oswald and his staff were very professional and nice. I would highly recommend Precision Endodontics to anyone.
