Hi, my name is Tianna Chartier. I am very excited to be a part of the team, as a Registered Dental Hygienist, at Pratt Family Dental. Currently, I am working three days a week. Before my dental hygiene career I worked with Dr. Hopkins as an assistant. I received a Bachelors degree from Fort Hays University, with an emphasis in a chemistry. My education continued with dental hygiene school at Colby Community College, which is sanctioned through Northcentral Technical College. I had wonderful instructors and have been practicing under great private practice dentists since 2014. I enjoy learning about my patients and helping create healthy, beautiful smiles. My life stays busy out of the office with my husband who ranches, and our three growing boys. Ranching, rodeoing, and fishing are some of our favorite things to do!

Dr. Carson Hopkins was born and raised in a small farming community in southeastern Idaho. When he was 11 he moved to a small town in north central Nevada called Battle Mountain. He lived there until he graduated high school. After high school he attended 2 years of college at Idaho State University and then served a 2-year mission for his church in Zimbabwe.

After returning from Zimbabwe he attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. While attending BYU, Dr. Hopkins made the best choice of his life and married his beautiful wife, Jennifer Hopkins. Together they started their family. Dr. Hopkins graduated from the University of Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine in 2009 and moved with his wife and 4 children to Pratt, Kansas after graduation. Dr. Hopkins purchased his dental practice from Dr. L. Ronald Ingram DDS in September 2009. Since that time his family and his practice has grown immensely. He now has 6 children and a new office.

Being a general dentist allows Dr. Hopkins the ability to perform the many procedures that general dentistry allows. Some of the procedures he performs are dental implants, composite and amalgam restorations, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal therapy, extractions, grafting, whitening, nitrous oxide sedation, and periodontal procedures. His philosophy is to help patients reduce travel by performing as many procedures in his office as possible. However, in certain situations he prefers to work with trusted specialists to accomplish patient comfort and to expedite complex patient treatment plans.

Dr. Hopkins loves practicing dentistry in the age of such great technological advances! Dr. has several instruments that help him provide excellent dental care including digital charting, digital x-rays and cameras, the newest Emerald E4D crown making laser scanning and milling system, an iCat 3D cone beam CT scanner, and a CAO Precise LTM soft tissue laser. The new building has allowed for patients to feel more comfortable and have reduced chair time by adding new dental chairs, lighting, andefficient assistant delivery systems.

Dr. Steven Kunz was born in Utah and lived in Wyoming for a few years before his family settled in Owasso, Oklahoma when he was 11 years old. After graduating from high school, he remained in the Owasso area through one year of community college before enlisting in the United States Navy.

Dr. Kunz and his family are excited to set down roots and be a part of the wonderful community here in Pratt.

Sharing my experience: I asked for a crown to be reinstalled as my dentist, being ill, didn't know when he would be able to do this procedure. Everyone was very helpful and instead of waiting till Thursday I was given a chance to come but I needed to be there in minutes which wasn't possible for me, because of the distance I must travel and the time I was called. The second phone call gave me news about a cancelled appointment that gave me ample time to drive into Pratt. The reception was very nice, many sheets of information to fill out, and a comfortable chair in the front lobby. Before I started the second page I was escorted to a room. It was a cordial visit and I learned about the person taking care of me and giving, and processing the x-rays. The dentist came very soon and he was quite convivial. The crown was glued back into place, sanding was done to make it more comfortable, and I was escorted back to the lobby to finish my paperwork. I wrote a check for my portion of the cost while the total cost was submitted to my BCBS account. Apparently, this method of payment has been done many times before and they know what to expect. Everyone was bright, cheerful, realized I needed help that day; and I was extremely grateful as the crown came off Saturday evening. (I couldn't get the work done until Tuesday.)

Today was my first visit to Pratt Family dental. I had several issues with my teeth, but Dr. Hopkins examined them and gave me several different options to choose from. He explained each procedure and the cost of each option. I had some work done and did not feel a thing. Great staff and very clean and comfortable, even got to watch tv while having the procedure done. Other than having my tooth problems confirmed:) It was a great dental experience.

Trucking through the area and I was in pain, so I called Pratt Family Dental first. I was told they were full for the day but if they had any cancelations they would call me back. 30 mins later I was called in and the service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The DDS was quick and to the point. Wish I lived closer because this would definitely be my office of choice.
