Our orthodontic practice is made up of a great team of individuals that have many years of experience in the orthodontic field. We feel very fortunate to have a combined total of over 267 years experience, most of which were spent in this office. Although creating beautiful smiles and great looking faces is our specialty our office takes great pride in offering a personal, friendly atmosphere.

Dr. Praska grew up in south central North Dakota in the small town farming community of Oakes. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota with an undergraduate study in zoology. He then spent six years in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the University of Minnesota completing his dental studies and orthodontic residency. In July of 1990, he joined the practice of Dr. Lloyd Truax and they spent nearly 20 years practicing together. Dr. Praska is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists (MAO), and the Zumbro Valley Dental Society. He is also a member of the local Rochester Exchange Service Club and the Rochester Business Club. Dr. Praska and his wife Lyn reside in Rochester with their three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, fishing, and stays busy watching his children's sporting events.

I graduated from Rochester Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1974 from the Dental Assisting Program and began working as a Certified and Registered Dental Assistant for Dr. Lloyd Truax that same year. It is a very rewarding job to see the orthodontic changes we can provide for our patients. I am now part of a practice that is seeing second generation patients. Dr. Praska joined the practice in 1990 and continues with Dr. Truaxs treatment philosophy and so the fun continues!

I started working her in 1981 as the receptionist for Dr. Truax. My husband and I have two grown children and two grandchildren. We entrusted our children's orthodontic treatment with Dr. Truax and Dr. Praska and could not be happier with their beautiful smiles. I enjoy quilting, crocheting, and gardening, but mostly enjoy time spent with our family and friends. We went through the empty nest syndrome after the children left home so we now have four dachshunds who occupy a great deal of our time and hearts.

Both our kids have been treated by Praska. We have been more than impressed with the work he has done with our kids' overbites. The guy is good! His staff is professional and very experienced. Yes, wait times are long, but he takes his time and ensures things are done correctly. Our dentist is always amazed at the results of his work!!!

I called to ask if there was someone I could talk to, the receptionist said "not at this time" and just hung up abruptly before I could ask if there would be a better time or if I could leave a message. It was insanely rude. Never going there.

I first visited Dr. Praska at the age of 36. At the time I was undergoing dental treatment and was running into serious issues with my bite. I agreed to meet with Dr. Praska with great apprehension, believing that my age and bite were impossible to treat, especially without drastic measures. Dr. Praska was very personable, conducted a review of my situation, and explained my treatment options. Over the next three and a half years every experience with this office was excellent. I still find it hard to believe that they were able to work such magic with my teeth and jaws, with very little discomfort, and no surgery, extractions, or other drastic procedures. I cannot recommend them enough.

Atrocious wait times. A 30 minute appointment becomes 50 minutes, of which 40-45 minutes is spent waiting for Dr. Praska to get to you. There are 5-8 patients in the common treatment room at any given time, so you can imagine the round robin waiting game that everyone has to play.... It isn't what you expect for a $7000+ service.
