Dr. Sidney Schmidt, was born and raised in Bismarck. He attended Bismarck State College, North Dakota State University, and graduated from theUniversity of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1995. He was the recipient of a health professions scholarship and entered the US Navy as an Officer. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D) residency at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego for one year. He then accepted a three year assignment at Yokosuka Naval Base near Tokyo Japan. He provided care for thousands of active duty, family members, and civilians. During his four years of military service, he received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry, especially in endodontics and exodontia (tooth extractions).

Upon fulfilling his commitment to the Navy, he joined Prairie Rose Family dentists in 1999 and is the current president and senior partner. As a general dentist, he has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and training and has special interest in full mouth reconstructions, placing and restoring dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and sleep apnea appliance therapy. He has been certified in Invisalign orthodontic treatment since 2007. In 2001-2002 he served as president of the Missouri Slope District Dental Society. He is a current member of Legatus, Knights of Columbus, and is on the St. Mary's Booster Club board.

He is married with three sons and one daughter and enjoys traveling, hunting, football, basketball, and the beautiful Missouri River. He is honored to be back in North Dakota and passionate about providing the best dental care available for his patients.

Dr. Chris Spies was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Creighton University with a degree in Biology. He continued his education and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Doctorate of Dental Surgery with high distinction.

Dr. Spies completed a General Practice Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. This provided him with specialized training in all aspects of dentistry including; endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, and prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, and removable dentures).

Dr. Spies started his career in Foley, Minnesota as a partner in a private dental practice for seven years, before moving to Bismarck in 2003 to join Prairie Rose Family Dentists. He has completed many hours of continuing education and training in order to become proficient in such areas as: placing and restoring dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontic treatment using clear aligners.

Graduating at the top of his class, Dr. Carlson received the Academic Excellence Scholarship every year of his dental training. He is continually researching the latest technological advances and scientific data in dentistry to give his patients the best quality dental care available.

Dr. Carlson enjoys all aspects of dentistry with patients of any age. He loves the rewarding experience ofimproving patients quality of life and self-image through the art and science of dentistry utilizing the latest technology. These new technologies include same day crowns, 3-D x-rays, and digital imaging all which can lead to a more gentle and comfortable dental visit.

Dr. Carlson enjoys spending time with his wife Kristi and daughter Annika. He also enjoys traveling, the great hunting and outdoor activities available in North Dakota, and taking in all local events in Bismarck Mandan.

Dr. Tom Ehrhardt was born and raised in Bismarck, ND. He attended Bismarck High School and graduated Cum Laude fromthe University of Mary earning a Bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He earned placement on the Deans list and was awarded an academic dental scholarship while graduating from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.

After graduation, he spent three years practicing in Minot. Entering a busy practice in Minot provided him great experience where he had special interest in Endodontics (root canals) and all aspects of general dentistry.

Life called for him to return to Bismarck and serve the public when he accepted an offer for the full time Dentist position at the ND DOCR in 2014. Providing dental care for incarcerated individuals offered him a unique and excellent experience in performing oral surgery/exodontia, restorative dentistry and removable prosthodontics (dentures).

A member of the American Dental Association and North Dakota Dental Association, Dr. Ehrhardt examines and treats every patient as if they were a family member. Nothing is more important to him than his patients results and the dental care they receive. He is excited to provide all aspects of dentistry at Prairie Rose.
