Dr. Jon A. Heezen became a dentist to provide healthcare in a rural area where there was no other dentist who can perform all aspects of dental care in one setting. Helping people meet their oral health needs is something he feels passionate about, especially while assisting them with something they cannot do themselves.
Dr. Heezen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He was student council president as well as class president for 4 years. He is currently involved in the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship track, which benefits his patients by allowing him to stay on top of the constantly changing field of dentistry. As a native of Plankinton, South Dakota, Dr. Heezen moved to the rural Slayton area in high school. He has four children, Wyatt, Maggie, Karlie, and Morgan. The children are active in 4H and show sheep and horses at the fair. Dr. Heezen enjoys ice fishing, archery hunting, camping, traveling and spending time with his children. Through excellent service, hometown friendliness and up to date technical skills, he hopes to help make his patients lives better.

Staff is very polite for the most part. The person doing my first set of x rays needs to work on her bed side manor. She could see that I was in pain, I told her that it was to painful and she continued without trying to resolve the issue. I found out later that they could have done them differently in a more comfortable way. They are very expensive and when you go to another dentist they hold your records hostage. You have to pay for them to transfer your records. You can't physically pick them up. You also have to warranty his work. Safe to say I won't be recommending this place to anyone.

By far the best dentist I've ever had! Randi went above and beyond today to make sure I was comfortable and she always has the best attitude and personality, every time I go in there she puts me right at ease! Dr. Jon does fantastic work, all the staff are amazing and it's just a great environment overall! I highly recommend!

PLFD is a gem in the middle of a rural area. It utilizes the most modern equipment and Dr. H treats all aspects of dental care (from checkups to implants and perio & oral surgery). I recommended a friend recently and she was so thankful Dr. H & Heidi took such good care of her. Heidi met with her privately to explain the treatment options and payment plan. As a certified dental assistant Heidi explains things so thoroughly and in a way for patients to easily comprehend and she is so caring and genuine. Dr. H even called after the procedure to check on my friend.
