Dr. DeSanto is the author of Three Steps to Choosing the Right Cosmetic Dentist, in 'A Cup of Coffee with 10 of the Top Cosmetic Dentists in the United States.' She is also on the national board of directors for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Elizabeth Knoedler has dedicated her professional career to providing her patients with the best that dentistry has to offer. She is continually educating herself and her staff in the newest techniques and approaches in order to provide her patients with state of the art, comfortable, and personalized dental care.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She also was a past president of the G.V. Black District Dental Society.
Dr. Tanya DeSanto was inducted into the International College of Dentists, the oldest and largest international honor society for dentists, in 2015. She continues to educate herself and upgrade her knowledge base. She believes that it is important to learn using the latest technology to care for her patients.
She enjoys other distinctions. She is the founder of the Prairie Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is one of the twenty dentists in Illinois with a license for IV sedation. She is also on track to become the first accredited cosmetic dentist in the Springfield area of Illinois.
She has also been elected to be on the national board of directors of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which is a measure of the respect she enjoys among her colleagues and the dental professionals as a whole.

I was looking for a new dentist so I thought I'd check them out because they have good reviews. Hygienist was kind, front desk was kind, however the dentist took one look in my mouth and without actually poking around more than a minute, told my I had 8 cavities and two of which were on teeth that needed pulled. I was shocked. I experienced no issues prior to going in there for my appointment. My gut told me not to commit to the dental work so I got a second opinion from another well-established dental office in town. ..(Turns out I only had 2 actual cavities that needed filled. It wasn't an emergency situation, and I didn't need any teeth pulled.) Prairie dental was counting some stained or worn areas on teeth as cavities and told me they were serious and needed corrected. Prairie told me that my wisdom tooth was decaying. (Turns out it was just stained.)

--Hopefully this will encourage someone in my same/similar situation.-- I've had some really unpleasant experiences with dentist, as a result I have a huge amount of anxiety when it comes to dental work. Many dentist I've seen have communicated poorly, not seemed motivated for the patient, and brush over when I've brought up my challenges with anxiety and sensory overload with dental work. I was referred to Dr. DeSanto Prairie Dental Group by a close family member. My experience from stepping in the door to the evaluation was great, the staff had a personality and I felt welcomed. Dr. DeSanto did the evaluation and then did something I've not had a dentist do to any extent, she laid out a dental plan. It was a this is where we are at this is what we need to do to get your mouth healthy and this is what we will do to get your smile back. Dr. DeSanto loves what she does and it shows in her work with patients. I have had seven appointments so far and my anxiety is better and better after each one. I'm to the point where I am looking forward to my next appointment. Out of those I've had three with Dr. Ozyurt and she has been excellent. The three Dr. Ozyurt has had with me are what I view as three of the most difficult. Two appointment for extractions, quick and painless with an incredible amount of care for me as a patient. The Third and most recent was a four hour marathon. The entire time she made sure I was comfortable and was very detail oriented. Dr. Ozyurt frequently communicated to make sure I wasn't in any pain and to check if I needed a break. The four hours of work was a lot and I'm sure it was exhausting for Dr. Ozyurt as well, but she never rushed. After the work was done we had some choices to make on shades moving forward. Dr. Ozyurt took the time to get a second opinion to make sure I would be happy with the choice. I never imagined I would look forward to a visit with the dentist but here we are. All it took was a world class dental practice to change my perspective!

Dr. DeSanto and staff are amazing! All super friendly. Every other dentist I went to had beat around the bush on fixing my gap. She gave me a great step by step plan and executed it perfectly. I now get compliments on my teeth somewhat regularly. Thank you all!

Hands down the best Dental Group! Currently going through the implant process, just had the implant placed last week ~ AMAZED no issues, no pain! From the time you walk in that door, staff is so welcoming, these ladies are awesome from office manager to the dentists ....EVERYONE staffed is top notch! Love this group and my new smile!!

This is an Incredible office! Everyone from front desk on is so very nice! I'm had some cosmetic dentistry done and the results are gorgeous! Dr. Nathanson went above and beyond to give me amazing results! Cannot recommend high enough!!!
