Subsequently, she completed a year of residency in the Advanced General Dentistry program at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, with extensive training in dental implants, cosmetic and complex full-arch restorations, surgical procedures, endodontics and management of medically compromised patients.
She was appointed as the Program Director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham. During her tenure as the director of the AEGD, Dr. Kumar worked closely with AEGD residents, Oral Surgeons, Orthodontists and Periodontists to support a multidisciplinary approach for treatment of medically compromised patients requiring complex implant therapy and dental rehabilitation. She continues to serve as an Adjunct Faculty Member at UAB School of Dentistry.
She has extensive experience and knowledge in treatment-planning and restorative aspects of implant dentistry including all-on-four, fixed hybrids and multi-units. She is also well versed in various current esthetic dental treatments.
Dr.Kumar continues to lead multi-disciplinary study clubs residents and fellow practitioners. She is dedicated to the highest level of care for her patients. Dr. Kumar has a history of participation in research and community programs.

Hari K. Digumarthi, DMD, MD, an Atlanta native, maintains an active practice in Oral Surgery in the greater Atlanta Metropolitan area. Dr. Digumarthi graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2002. After initially working as a Chemical Engineer, he matriculated at the Georgia Regents University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) to pursue his passion to help others through the health care profession. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 2007.
Upon earning his D.M.D., Dr. Digumarthi was accepted to the six year Oral and Maxillofaical Surgery Residency Program at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB). After completing his internship from 2007 to 2008, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from UAB Medical School in 2010.
Dr. Digumarthi then went on to receive extensive training in Maxillofacial Surgery including Facial Trauma, Dentoalveolar surgery, Dental Implants, Tempromandibular joint disorders, Orthognathic surgery, Nerve injury repair, Anesthesia and Pathology. Dr. Digumarthi has been involved in numerous research projects, lectured to colleagues and dental students, and presented at several national meetings on various aspects of maxillofacial surgery and patient management. Dr. Digumarthi is licensed to practice dentistry in Alabama and Georgia. Moreover, he is also licensed to practice Medicine in Georgia. Dr. Digumarthi is a Board Certified Maxillofacial Surgeon.

With over 15 years of combined administrative and clinical dental experience, Mel enjoys and loves every aspect of dentistry.
