Subsequently, she completed a year of residency in the Advanced General Dentistry program at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham, with extensive training in dental implants, cosmetic and complex full-arch restorations, surgical procedures, endodontics and management of medically compromised patients.
She was appointed as the Program Director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham. During her tenure as the director of the AEGD, Dr. Kumar worked closely with AEGD residents, Oral Surgeons, Orthodontists and Periodontists to support a multidisciplinary approach for treatment of medically compromised patients requiring complex implant therapy and dental rehabilitation. She continues to serve as an Adjunct Faculty Member at UAB School of Dentistry.
She has extensive experience and knowledge in treatment-planning and restorative aspects of implant dentistry including all-on-four, fixed hybrids and multi-units. She is also well versed in various current esthetic dental treatments.
Dr.Kumar continues to lead multi-disciplinary study clubs residents and fellow practitioners. She is dedicated to the highest level of care for her patients. Dr. Kumar has a history of participation in research and community programs.

Hari K. Digumarthi, DMD, MD, an Atlanta native, maintains an active practice in Oral Surgery in the greater Atlanta Metropolitan area. Dr. Digumarthi graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2002. After initially working as a Chemical Engineer, he matriculated at the Georgia Regents University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) to pursue his passion to help others through the health care profession. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 2007.
Upon earning his D.M.D., Dr. Digumarthi was accepted to the six year Oral and Maxillofaical Surgery Residency Program at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB). After completing his internship from 2007 to 2008, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from UAB Medical School in 2010.
Dr. Digumarthi then went on to receive extensive training in Maxillofacial Surgery including Facial Trauma, Dentoalveolar surgery, Dental Implants, Tempromandibular joint disorders, Orthognathic surgery, Nerve injury repair, Anesthesia and Pathology. Dr. Digumarthi has been involved in numerous research projects, lectured to colleagues and dental students, and presented at several national meetings on various aspects of maxillofacial surgery and patient management. Dr. Digumarthi is licensed to practice dentistry in Alabama and Georgia. Moreover, he is also licensed to practice Medicine in Georgia. Dr. Digumarthi is a Board Certified Maxillofacial Surgeon.

With over 15 years of combined administrative and clinical dental experience, Mel enjoys and loves every aspect of dentistry. She believes that creating value in oral health is key to establishing optimal, overall health. Having earned her Associates Degree of Science in December 2015, Mel is a master at combining those skills and implementing them in the dental field to the benefit of the patients she cares for. She enjoys spending her free time with family, being outdoors, and writing poetry.

Dr.Kumar is the best dentist in the town. I have been visiting her for 5 years until I had to move to another city. She is very knowledgeable and caring. Her team is very responsive and and willing to explain well to any questions that you have in layman terms. I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for dental services.

We will miss Powers Ferry Family Dentistry! We left because of a work relocation and will miss the pleasant and helpful staff who often helped our family of 4 to save money and stay healthy. If you're looking for a dentist for the whole family who actually knows you and cares about your dental health as a whole rather than just a basic exam, this is the right place.

I am leaving Atlanta and relocating to another city. During my three years in Atlanta, I really made a good friend with Dr. Praneetha. She is professional and she really cares about the patient and makes the plan based on the real situation of the patient. We talked about life, family, and culture during my visits. Each time I walked out the clinic, I felt relaxed. I will miss this place in my next chapter of life.

After moving to the Atlanta area about 9 years ago, Dr Kumar made her practice my home. Her staff has always been warm and welcoming. What really revealed her kindness, was the night I had an emergency pain in my tooth in the middle of the night and I decided to give her a call. She called me RIGHT back and got me in as soon as possible. She is transparent about all recommended care and my smile has never shined brighter. Why? Bc of her attention to detail and her recommendations to other professionals if it extended outside of her field of expertise (ex. orthodontist) Though my season is up in Atlanta and back to Nashville I return, she will be truly be missed.

My experience with Powers Ferry overall has been a very pleasant one. They are thorough and quick with patient onboarding paperwork and particular about ensuring safety of patient from covid with right systems in place for the ongoing traffic. Dr. Kumar is awesome. She is very patient to listen to all the concerns and suggests a customized solution that suits you. I am pleased to have my regular dental sessions with her.

Dr. Kumar is the best. I've never had an actual dentist be the one to clean my teeth. Been seeing her for years. She's incredibly straightforward and speaks with me and explains everything she's doing. She knows I'm a human being and gives me options and is concerned with me as Person. Dr. Kumar and her team are the best! I have been a patient since I first moved to Atlanta in 2014. The entire staff is very personable and they go out of their way to ensure you know what your cost of service is ahead of time. They never assume that you want something done. They always ask to verify first. I really appreciated that Dr. Kumar took the time to get to know me personally. You're always in and out. I've never had to wait. Great atmosphere!

Our family switched dentists a year ago and were really glad we made the change. For appointments, the wait was minimal, the location was convenient, and Dr. Kumar spent solid one-on-one time with each of our boys. I appreciated her openness to questions and that she offered opinions and options without pressure. She has children of her own, so she understands how to relate to her younger patients. Both of our boys were very comfortable in her care. We moved out of state in August, and I scheduled appointments with Dr. Kumar before we left. I was reassured to see the measures that she and her office were taking to keep patients and staff healthy during COVID. As a patient, it definitely made me feel like we were in good hands.

Dr. Kumar makes a sincere effort to get to know her patients and makes the dental experience a pleasant one. I've been a patient for three years and I couldn't ask for better care! I really appreciate Dr. K's attention to detail during the Covid-19 pandemic. Yes, a proper face mask is required and she spaces her appointments such that contact is with other patients is minimal. Dr. Kumar does not rush. Instead, she takes time during each visit to build trust with her patients. She is thorough and delivers terrific care. Her expertise coupled with her terrific personality makes visiting the dentist easy!

Dr. Kumar and her staff have always been professional and courteous to my dental needs. I've been a patient of theirs since 2019 and I have no plans of looking elsewhere. The office is always clean, and their COVID-19 safety measures are second to none. The office makes sure there is literally no wait and I that I appreciate the most. Beware! Save yourself! I wish I could give zero star. Dr. Praneetha Kumar may be an ok dentist for simple procedures, but she is definitely inexperienced with complex procedures. She had referred me for root canal treatment. After the root canal treatment, I went to her for the crown. She shaved off too much of my tooth while trying to get the impression for my crown. Later, she was not able to get the impression as there wasn't much tooth left there. Then, she said I had to see a periodontist to remove the gum area to expose the tooth. I was really upset as I might have to go through all of this because of her mistake. She kept shaving off the tooth without telling me what was going on. Only when I looked in the mirror, I was able to find out that she had shaved off too much. When I asked her about it, she inturn blames my tooth that it was too small..blah blah blah, and she insisted that I see the periodontist that she referred to me. Everything seemed so fishy. Then, I went to another dentist for a second opinion referred to me by my coworkers. He looked at the tooth and said he could fix a crown without me seeing a periodontist, which was a huge relief. Then he fixed the crown the same day itself. On the X-ray, he also showed me how she had shaved off the lateral part of the adjacent tooth also. When I spoke to Dr. Praneetha about it later, she denied it and she wouldn't pay any of the extra amount that I had to pay. Bottom line is she is inexperienced, irresponsible, tries to wash off hands during such situations, and pretends that it's not her mistake at all. Please don't go by Google reviews. Please go to the ones referred to you by your friends and family.
