Dr. John C. Pryse, Jr., has been creating beautiful smiles for over 40 years! He is a dental specialist who received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee and his Orthodontic Certification from the University of Louisville. Dr. Pryse is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Pryses devotion to continuing education and involvement in advancing quality orthodontics has earned him a reputation as a trusted leader in the field. He received the TN ACE award for his continuing education hours. He has served as president of the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, as a director from Tennessee to the Southern Association of Orthodontists. As a representative from the Southern Association to the American Association of Orthodontists Council on Insurance.
Dr. Pryse has devoted time to teaching and working with students in the field of dentistry. He was an Associate Professor in the orthodontic department at Vanderbilt University for five years. He presents lectures annually to the orthodontic students at the University of West Virginia. He presents lectures annually to the students enrolled in the Roane State hygiene program.
Dr. Pryse has stayed current by continuing his own education. He has completed a mini-residency in orofacial pain at the University of Kentucky. He completed a two-year post-graduate course studying the McLaughlin Method. Dr. McLaughlin teaches using the Dolphin McLaughlin Dental VTO software exclusively. This is an interactive software program that assists clinicians in planning precise, quantifiable movement of the dentition using clinical examination and treatment planning values.
Presently, his interest is in mastering Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and the benefits this new technology brings to his practice especially in the area of reduced radiation to the patient while producing higher-quality diagnostic images.

Excellent results, friendly staff. However, they are extremely busy so If you have to reschedule an appointment - it's weeks before you are able to get back in. If there is a hardware issue such as a wire or bracket broken they are able to get your child in, usually same day.

They are always so welcoming and nice. From the front to the back. They have done a great job with our daughters teeth.

Both of my children are patients here and they love it here. They never complain to drive an hour to their orthodontist appointments. There is several locations that give us more appointment availabilities.

I have done 2 sets of braces and they are fantastic! My kids teeth look amazing! Dr Pryse and Dr Power are very knowledgeable. They treat the kid not just the teeth. Dr Pryse showed us how my daughters asthma might get better after expanding her mouth a tiny bit. And it has! Anytime something happened like my son breaking a bracket they got him in quickly at one of the locations. We rarely had to wait long for any appointments. It has been a very positive experience for our family. Everyone is so nice there.

We saw Dr Pryse for my daughter's phase I orthodontic treatment and are continuing with him for phase II. Everyone at this office is extremely friendly and helpful and Glory was incredible with answering all my daughters questions. We would not go anywhere else!

I've only recently started treatment, but have already had the privilege of being treated by both Dr. Power and Dr. Pryse. Both have been excellent and their staff is always super friendly and efficient! I highly recommend this office for all ages!

I cannot say enough good about the care my family has received at Power and Pryse Orthodontics. I have six children, all in orthodontic care. Three of those are special needs and two of those are medically complex. Dr. Pryse has been instrumental in diagnosing airway issues in my youngest child, and they work extremely well with my kids with sensory issues. The staff at Power and Pryse is top notch! They are always friendly, caring and they go above and beyond to care for their patients. I highly recommend Power and Pryse for your orthodontic needs.
