Dr. Powell is a caring and passionate dentist who thoroughly enjoys practicing the fine art of dentistry. He takes great pride in knowing that he's helping people and achieving the healthy, confident smiles they've always wanted.Dr. Powell stays up to datewith the most current innovative technology, techniques and materials. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science. He then attended the University of Minnesota where hegraduated with aDoctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Powell also attended the United States Dental Institute, receiving an Accreditation in Orthodontic Treatment and TMJ (TMD) Treatment.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Dr. Powell is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, St. Paul District Dental Society, Academy of Head, Neck and Facial Pain, International Association for Orthodontics, American Association for Functional Orthodontics, Academy of Computerized Dentistry, American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Aside from practicing dentistry, Dr. Powell remains active in his local church, is a talented and accomplished musician, and enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. He also is an active volunteer for the Twin Cities Union Gospel Mission.
Katie has been a dental assistant at our office since 2007. She graduated from Northwestern Technical College with a Dental Assistant degree in 2005. Katie believes that a healthy and beautiful smile is part of overall health, she enjoys working with people and making their visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible. Outside the office, Katie enjoys traveling with her husband and children. She is also active in her community church events.
Kristin joined our team in 2004, after graduating from the Dental Assistant program at Dakota County Technical College. Kristinbrings a professional yet relaxed and fun-loving attitude to our office.She truly believes that a healthy smile is a beautiful smile. In her spare time Kristin enjoys spending time with her three children, going to movies, and shopping as well as hanging out with her family and friends.
Lexie joined our team in August of 2012. She is very personable and always strives to offer kindness and excellence when dealing with our patients. Lexie is exceptional at what she does because of her positive attitude and enthusiasm for the dentistry we provide. Lexie has three children and enjoys spending time with family and friends.She is inspired by photography, interior design, and organization.

The office staff were very helpful and very up to date with Covid protection. I felt very safe in the office. Doctor Powell is a great dentist and I love that he has all the latest tech.

I have been going to Powell Family Dental office for over 20 years. I drive over 2 hours just to go there. I love Dr. Powell and his office. I really love working with a dentist that is all about the patient and not about the $$$ like many other offices are.

This is the first dental clinic I have been that took time to show me around their clinic and their equipment. Most surprising is that it is easy to get in within a short time. Their customer service approach is superb friendly with much respect. I appreciate your detail explanation of expectations.

Dr Powell and staff are so good that I almost look forward to going to the dentist. How many people can say that? High tech equipment and caring staff make for quick and painless procedures. (I'm a recent wisdom tooth extraction, root canal, and filling patient... so I know of what I speak!) 5 Stars

The staff is friendly and courteous and above all professional and knowledgeable. Dentists are my least favorite doctors. However, Dr. Powell is gentle and careful. He places my needs and concerns at high importance. I have great confidence in his skill. I heartily recommend Dr Powell to anyone who hates visits to the dentist!

The staff was very nice and gave lots of information. The wonderful technology they have, let me know I have other non-dental problems and even referred me to ENT. It's wonderful to have a dentist that looks beyond your mouth and cares about you as a whole person!
