When he was a kid, Dr. Sepe originally wanted to become an ophthalmologist he even had his own eye exam kit! When he reached his early teens, though, his interests switched to dentistry and never swayed again. He created his own dental exam kit and regularly played exam with friends and family members. It turned out to be a great choice for a career. He always wanted to work directly with his hands and help other people!

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors at San Diego State University, Dr. Sepe pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UCLA, which is notably the best dental school in the world. Over the course of his career, hes amassed thousands of hours of post-doctoral education in orthodontics, orthopedics, craniofacial/TMD pain, and other specialty services so that he can serve his patients needs more effectively. He is currently a member of the San Diego County Dental Association, California Dental Association, and American Dental Association.

Dr. Sepes family is Italian, and he and his siblings were born in France. The family first moved to the United States in the 1960s. They imparted on him a strong sense of family traditions and the value of hard work. Today, his favorite activities outside of work include traveling with his wife, Leigh, reading, cooking, doing adventure sports (especially skiing), and gardening. Also, even when hes away from the dental office, he enjoys studying about total body health and is a passionate lifelong learner.

In the past, traditional X-rays had to be developed carefully, which required significant time. Nowadays, we utilize digital technology to capture accurate X-rays of your teeth and other oral structures almost instantaneously. As an added benefit, digital X-rays also reduce the amount of radiation exposure by as much as 90 percent and use sensors that are much smaller and more comfortable. Through this technology, Dr. Sepe can diagnose issues faster and with more accuracy.

For some treatments, like gum disease treatments or root canals, using metal dental instruments and drills can be a deterrent to patients getting the care they need.
