After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in microbiology, Dr. Pournaras pursued his dental studies at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Deeply committed to continuing education, Dr. Pournaras constantly enhances his knowledge by participating in courses throughout the country. His active role in continuing his studies has kept him abreast of the latest advances in the dental field. Dr. Pournaras is a native of Myrtle Beach and an active participant in the dental community.

Dr. Tommy Marshall moved to the area with his lovely wife, Marissa, from Statesboro, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia where he studied chemistry and graduated Magna cum laude with honors. He then moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended the UAB school of dentistry. He was the recipient of a four-year academic scholarship for scholastic achievement, and while in school, Dr. Marshall participated in research on implant supported dentures and removable partials.
Dr. Marshall received his doctorate of dental medicine in 2013, and was the recipient of the Southeastern Academy of prosthodontics award for outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of prosthodontics. He is a member of the American dental Association and the South Carolina dental Association.
He has attended and volunteered with the Hinman dental meeting, in Atlanta, Georgia, and continues to pursue academic and clinical advancements in dentistry. Dr. Marshall also has participated in mission work overseas, serving in dental clinics in Brazil, Guatemala, and Haiti. Dr. Marshall and his wife, Marissa, were married in May, 2017, and after six years of practicing in Georgia, they decided to move to the area and meet all of our wonderful patients! We are so very happy to have him join our team at Pournaras cosmetics!

I've been a patient for about 6 1/2 years and I have only good things to say about Dr Pournaras And staff. everyone is professional and polite . if you have anxiety when going to the dentist this is a perfect place for you you will feel at ease and comfortable.

Hadn't taken great care of my teeth for a while, mostly becouse of bad past dental experiences and very sensitive teeth. Since coming here they have made me feel so comfortable every time and my mouth and teeth get more healthy with every visit. Thanks so much for being so caring.

Absolutely best dental experience of my life even with having an infected tooth! They took care of me so quickly and got me in with my emergency and everyone in the whole process was so INCREDIBLY kind and caring. The first time I've had a truly great experience at the dentist ever. I was beyond nervous, anxious and scared and they put me at ease right away, the second I walked in. They were so completely helpful, extremely personable, totally knowledgeable and absolutely amazing to me. They were my angels, every one of them and that'll be my forever dental office and I'll tell everyone I know about my great experience and about these truly awesome people!

I had extensive dental issues that occurred over a period of 40 years. It took 6 months to correct and repair what had been done over those years. This man was both patient and kind throughout this process. Very professional were all of his staff. The experience was the most pleasant of my limited exposure to a dentist I had ever had the opportunity to have. If you are completely satisfied with your current DDS I would go visit Dr Pournaras on your next time to the dentist. You'll realize immediately you have been going to the wrong dentist!! I never got a chance to see but I'm pretty sure he can walk on water too =) Also, I would like to express my gratitude to a particular assistant that was of great help to both him and myself throughout the entire process.....Stacey I believe was her name was from Conn......I thank you.....c you in 6 months

So grateful for this clinic! From front desk to Dr Marshall's room -it was a great experience! Recently, my mother had a severe infection and was in a lot of pain, they took her right away ( while many other clinics could not fit her in) and helped her tremendously. My husband is also very impressed by Dr Marshall's professionalism - he had a lot of work to do . Glad we switched to this office. Shoutout to all the staff - super friendly and professional!
