We had such a great experience with Dr Self. She was so good at explaining our daughter's lip tie and tongue tie. She took the time to go over everything before and after the procedure. I would definitely recommend going to see her! Thank you for making what could be a stressful situation very easy and calming. The whole team was great!!!

The doctors are great. The billing staff is not. They put the bill in my son's name (he's a minor) and completely screwed up the account for my other child. When I attempted to have the mistakes corrected I was blown off and threatened with collections, then snapped at by the office manager. We've been patients for 20 years. We will not be going back.

My *almost* 3YO's visit with Dr. Self and the staff at Poulsbo Kids & Family Dentistry was just what we needed. Staff was friendly and efficient, professional. Our Hygienist, Ellie, kept the visit lighthearted and fun for my daughter who was a little nervous about the visit. Dr. Self was able to conduct an exam and polish my daughter's teeth as well as consult on a few concerns I had-- all while my daughter sat on my lap-- where she was most comfortable. It's dental health professionals like this group that will help your little ones be excited about dental visits and not nervous or afraid.

Dr. Shelly Self and her level of care has been amazing. I feel both professional and sympathetic care are hard to come by these days. However, the standard of care with Dr. Self and her staff has been top notch. After poor care locally and neglect from professionals regarding my son's oral ties, Dr. Self and her practice were recommended to us; she did not disappoint. They worked with us on assuring our insurance was lined up and took time to discuss medical care pre, and post procedures. Follow up calls regarding care...The list goes on... would continue to recommend. Thank you!

I took my 2 and 4 year old here for the same appointment time, I was worried since I was taking 2 of them at once by myself! The staff was helpful and friendly. We just moved here and my kids were scared of the dentist we went to before, but they loved Dr Shelly Self, she is so bubbly and great with children! The rooms are very kid friendly with different murals in each. We were in the ocean room and my kids loved it.

I recently moved to the PNW and am a new Poulsbo Kids and Family Denistry patient. Within the past 4 weeks I've had 2 dental emergencies. I was very impressed with the quick response and the kind, caring, professional treatment I received. Carmen, Aaron and Dr Mac are my heroes. I highly recommend Poulsbo Kids & Family Denistry to everyone.

The office staff was so helpful and knowledgeable!!! Kind and welcoming - office was very clean and neat - they had a private nursery space for us to be able to nurse and tend to our 10 day old who had to have a procedure. Dr. Shelly Self was above and beyond! You can tell she really loved what she does and had the brain backing it! Our whole family will be transitioning care to their office! Highly recommend for pediatric procedures felt very safe handing my newborn's care over to Dr Shelly and her staff.

Absolutely wonderful hygienists and dentists! Front desk staff is also amazing! I've taken my child here since he was 6 months old and he is now almost 6 years old. A very professional, upbeat and friendly environment. They really care about their patients and making them feel comfortable.

This office cares about each and every patient! From the beautiful and thoughtful design of the office, the care taken to have a clean and healthy environment, the kid friendly artwork and details, the super friendly and gentle staff from front office to back, and the knowledgeable, consistent and caring treatment provided by the excellent dentists, I couldn't imagine taking my kids anywhere else! They are so excited to go to the dentist and smile ear to ear after each visit! Can't say enough! And obviously highly recommend!

My one year old daughter had her first year check up today and Dr. Shelly and her dental assistant were wonderful. They made my daughter feel safe, though it didn't make much of a difference as she still cried when she examined her mouth. This entire experience with Poulsbo Kids and Family has been wonderful. Both my husband and I go here for us as well and have been really happy so far. I highly recommend this clinic and absolutely trust them with my entire family!

We brought our newborn in for a tongue/lip tie eval. Dr Self was super friendly and helpful in explaining her exam and all of the relevant after-care needs for the procedure, and was super gentle with our baby. She helped us feel very confident and supported.

Dr Self, Dr McKinley and the staff are amazing! We got referred for our daughters lip/tongue tie and we couldn't be happier with the service we got! Dr Self is so sweet, energetic, so easy to talk to and super knowledgeable!! We will definitely be back when our daughter gets her first tooth! As for Dr McKinley, he is great! Very personable and knowledgable as well! Can't wait for us to go here as a family! We are very pleased with our experience and I Highly recommend!!

WARNING -- If you have elevated blood pressure DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE. At my very first visit the dental hygenist was extremely rude with how she was talking to me in regards to my blood pressure, warning that they might not treat me if it's too high. She kept lecturing me like I was a child. You're cleaning teeth. Why are you worried about my blood pressure? And yes, this place takes your blood pressure before they do anything else. These people can't seem to get your personal information straight either. They sent notices to my wife instead of me about an appointment and then cancelled my appointment on me when I didn't respond. On my second cleaning visit I had to straighten out my personal information because they somehow didn't have it straight. And boy was I in for a treat after they could spam me directly! They started harassing me a WEEK before my appointment to make sure I was going to be there. Multiple texts and calls to me and my wife many days before my appointment to make sure I'm still going to show up. If you don't respond or you never get the messages they'll simply cancel your appointment. Forget about you and the dental facility having an agreement for an appointment time at a set date. If you don't respond or never get the message, kiss your appointment time goodbye. On my last and final visit they canceled my filling because my blood pressuer was too high. Keep in mind these people have a flight of stairs in an office building you get to climb to raise your blood pressure before they take it and deny you service. If you enjoy the dentist wasting your time and harassing you for appointments then by all means make your appointment today!

My son and I both love this practice! The front office staff are wonderful. Dr. Shelly and her hygienists are so patient and gentle with my special needs son. Dr. Mac, Erin, and Jackie make a lifelong fear of dentists disappear. I recommend this practice to everyone who even mentions dentistry, and I will continue to do so.

We had to leave Poulsbo Kids and Family dentistry due to insurance coverage changes about 3 years ago. We have been to a couple of dentists over that time that did an ok job, but still made me slightly uncomfortable to leave my kids with for procedures. We were able to return this year with our new coverage and were so excited. Our excitement has proved right! The entire staff at Poulsbo Kids and Family Dentistry are professional, kind, competent and loving. Everyone from the office staff, to the dental assistants to Dr. Shelly have been so wonderful to me and my children. Dr. Shelly even remembered us (3 years later!). When we come here we are treated like family. I finally feel comfortable when my kids go back for procedures and they do too! If you are looking for an amazing dentist that you can maintain a lomg term relationship with, they are it!

Another outstanding visit at Poulsbo Kids and Family Dentistry. Both of my daughters had appointments this morning, we were seen on time, and staff was extremely professional and pleasant to be around. My youngest required some work, so we were allowed to use their private room which was comfortable and entertaining. Thank you for the painless dental experience.
