Dr. Uthman also began practicing general dentistry in 1997, and went on to gain advanced training in orthodontics in 2006. He is dedicated to his patients, and strives to provide treatments that address the underlying issues that cause most cosmetic conditions. He has a great amount of compassion for his patients, and believes that having a long lasting doctor/patient relationship helps to increase the quality and effectiveness of care. Due to his commitment to a high standard of care and additional training, Dr. Uthman is also recognized as an Invisalign Preferred Provider.
Dr. Uthman spends much of his free time with his wife and daughters. He enjoys watching soccer matches, playing tennis, and has recently taken up golf as well. Dr. Uthman is trilingual, speaking Kurdish, Arabic, and English.
Potomac Family Dental originated in 2013, but was recently purchased by Dr. Khattab and Dr. Uthman. We are a young practice, but each of our dentists have more than 20 years of patient care experience. Having a new office has many benefits, including modern amenities and equipment.
On Saturday, Potomac Family Dental is also open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving people who dont have time or are unable to come in during the week the opportunity to receive the care they need on the weekends.

Omg....I'm in love with going to the dentist once again. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The dentist and hygienist were extremely thorough and informative. I miss Tammy already. (Go team B!) LOL

Best dental office I've ever been to me and my children have been going now for 5 years and the staff have been consistent with making sure our needs are met, very friendly, helpful and good at what they do the dentist his assistance and this dental office, try them out!!!!

By far the very best dental location my wife and I have gone to yet! The staff was absolutely outstanding, they have really great people working there and Dr. Ahmed Uthman fixed my wife's tooth on the same day. This is the place to go if you need true dental care! They are highly professional and very respectful!

Let me start by saying there are 1 million other things I would rather do than to go to the dentist. But I was forced to get over it when I needed an emergency appointment. Thanks to Google I found Potomac Family which is basically in my back yard. What a great and clean facility. The team was very gentle and kind to me throughout my procedure and made the process painless (both literally and figuratively). I would recommend their services to anyone in the area who needed a family dentist. I am glad I found here and a place that I feel comfortable with all of my dental needs.

This is really an amazing place to take care of your teeth. An awesome Team, very professional and friendly at the same time would make you feel family, specially Dr. Uthman great guy! This was definitely the best dental office that I have been too, 10/10. The Dentist and Dental Hygienist were so polite, gentle, and nice. The office was nicely decorated and clean. My mother and I both had appts together. Dr. Uthman explained everything so well, and was not pushy into getting procedures like I've seen at other dental offices. A very comforting and welcome environment, no nervousness at all. I loved it! Looking forward to coming back regularly. **I also want to mention, they did not pressure me into writing this review. I have had other dental offices, push me into giving them 5 star reviews and basically ruin the experience. This was not the case at this dental practice, and I am very proud of them for being like this. I rarely write reviews, this is my genuine feedback.**

When I say amazing, that is an understatement!! I am terrified of the dentist and after coming here, I can walk in confident without experiencing anxiety. They take care of me as if I'm the only patient and its extremely hard to find that. Everyone is so kind and patient, its almost too good to believe without experiencing it for yourself. I tell everyone, If you have any fears of the dentist or your just looking for a great experience, go to Potomac Family Dental. I will never go to another office. Thank you all for taking care of me!

I very rarely write any reviews but I had to this time around. Went in for 2 implants. I didn't know what to expect. Dr. Uthman and the staff were amazing. Dr. Uthman was very professional and explained everything he was doing like he was the patient. He didn't rush and took his time to provide me with excellent dental care. The staff was top notch inside and outside the exam rooms. The clinic is clean and modern. Would definitely recommend to all my friends and family. Of note, they never asked me to post a survey or rate them.

Since I walked into Potomac Family Dental, after my wife went first...I was nothing but treated with care and respect. From walking in the door to going in back, meeting with the hygienist and Doctor's there it is all a great experience. The front desk is on you when you walk in and if they know you you really just need to sit down and wait to go back...they got you set. Best professional dentistry I have dealt with in over 30 years. Highly recommended!!

I literally "hate" going to the dentist! Potomac Family Dental has changed my mind!Dr. Ahmed is kind, careful, professional, and most of all has very gentle hands as he is working on teeth:)!!! If you've had a bad experience, I highly recommend you try this place! From the front desk, to the the dental assistants , and doctor, this is an excellent place for all your dental needs:)!!! Another plus is that the whole family can come to "one" place for all their dental needs. I have switched my wife and kids to Potomac Family Dental, and I hope they will be around for a long, long time!!!
