Dr. Alathari received his dental training at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and graduated in 2005. Before dental school, Dr. Alathari did four full years of medical and surgical training from accredited medical schools overseas. Since graduation, Dr. Alathari has continued his education by attending hundreds of advanced courses in different aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Alathari believes that advanced medical technology should be utilized in dental medicine to improve medical diagnoses and treatment planning, together with the enhancement of patient experience and procedure outcomes. He proudly practices fully advanced digital dentistry by utilizing the latest techniques in cone beam 3D imaging, CAD/CAM digital scanning, complete in-office digital designing and milling of dental prostheses. He uses high-end dental materials that have both superior durability and strength. Dr. Alathari has been utilizing digital imaging with CAD/CAM CEREC technology since 2009. He uses digital treatment planning software for single and multiple dental implants to minimize errors and post-op discomfort. Dr. Alathari is a clear aligner provider for both Invisalign and SureSmile. He has been delivering beautiful smiles since 2008.
To further enhance his skills, Dr. Alathari received dental training in neuromuscular dentistry from the most prestigious neuromuscular institute in the United States, the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). His LVI experience provided Dr. Alathari with further training in aesthetic dentistry, smile makeovers and full-mouth reconstructions. Dr. Alatharis training in occlusion dentistry and implant dentistry allows him to plan treatments and perform full-mouth rehabilitations with implant-supported dental procedures, including implant-supported hybrid dentures, through his medical training. Dr. Alathari is exceptionally skilled at reviewing the medical history of a patient, diagnosing oral health conditions and planning the course of action that is most appropriate for addressing these conditions.
Since 2005, Dr. Alathari has been providing dental care for his patients in Virginia and Washington, D.C. He is the founder and current owner of both Georgetown Dental Aesthetic in Georgetown and Potomac Dental Care in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Dr. Alathari lives with his wife, son and daughter in Mclean, Virginia. In his free time, he likes to do outdoor activities with his family. His hobbies are soccer and swimming and he also loves traveling.

One of the best experiences in a dental office by a long shot! From the beginning to the end I was made comfortable by the receptionist, assistants and Dr. Alathari. He is an incredibly empathetic Doctor (hard to find now-a-days)!!

We had a phenomenal experience with Potomac Dental Care. Dr. Humam Alathari and his staff, Ms.Geneva , Ms. Ari and Ms. Hanny greeted us with respect, courtesy, prestige, and a desire to provide the best possible service for their patients. Dr. Alathari is very professional and takes his time to explain what needs to be done and provides valuable advice. He is by far the best dentist that we have ever had. We highly recommend Dr. Alathari and his courteous and friendly staff who make us feel at ease and right at home. This is a great dental office for all, and particularly for the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Program (FEDVIP) enrollees.

I love Potomac Dental Care. I never go to any other dental place but this. I like their staff- their desk receptionist/administrator and their clinical assistants are all very professional, friendly, courteous. They check on you every step of the way. I like Dr. Humam Alathari. He is straightforward, he doesn't give you the runaround; he tells you what the problem is, what can be done to resolve your dental issues. He is not pushy, and doesn't hard-sell you on treatments. He will tell you what additional treatment you need, but he will not push you into a corner to get it. Dr. Humam Alathari is fantastic. He is well-spoken, laid back, easy to talk to. He treats his patients professionally. Many years ago, my uncle, who was the Dean of Dentistry for many years at the prestigious Univ. of the Philippines- School of Dentistry, in Manila, Philippines, told me that a good dentist is one who has very light hands, who doesn't put any weight on your teeth or jaw when doing a procedure. Dr. Humam Alathari has VERY LIGHT hands. I did not feel any weight or discomfort on my teeth or jaw while he performed the procedure. It is difficult to find a dentist who has the light touch. Dr. Alathari has the masterful light touch. The clinic is VERY CLEAN. I have an eye for catching little things and I can tell you, Potomac Dental Care is CLEAN. Pricing. I have no issues with the pricing. I asked for an estimate and I got it prior to treatment. Considering the procedure that I was getting from Potomac Dental Care, the pricing was perfect. I have no complaints with my out -of-pocket expense because I know I am getting quality service from Potomac Dental Care. Always ask for an estimate and go line by line when you visit any doctor or clinic. That way you know what you are getting and paying for, and the clinic will know what services they can offer you. By getting an estimate, no surprises between you and the clinic. I did not get any surprises with Potomac Dental Care because right at the start, I asked for an estimate so I knew what I was going to pay. I also want to mention, that the ambient music in the clinic is perfect for my taste- old standard jazz which I love. I am so glad the ambient music is not hard rock or loud music. This is a big plus for me. So, if you are looking for a dentist/dental clinic, go visit Potomac Dental Care. Give it a try. Thank you!

Very good denist and staff was very friendly. I had an emergency and they took me right in and made me feel comfortable about the procedure that I needed to have. Explained everything and took good care of me. If you need a denist give them a try you wont regret it .

You cannot ask for better service and care. Late in the afternoon I had a toothache everywhere I called were booked or couldn't squeeze me in. The receptionist at Potomac Dental Care said we close at 3pm what time can you be here. I got there as soon as humanly possible and the doctor still saw me. I love the doctor at Potomac Dental Care and the staff. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. They're the best!!

I had the best experience at Potomac Dental Care! we all know the dentist is a necessary evil that must be done for the betterment of our individual health. From the moment I walked in to Potomac Dental care it was fantastic. From the sweet helpful young lady at the front to the super understanding staff but especially the Dr. he was so informative and truly caring. My family finally found our dentist for life.
