A native of New Hampshire, Dr. Wendell attended UNH before completing his dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From there, he went on to specialize in pediatric dentistry at Boston Childrens Hospital / Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Filocoma completed her undergraduate studies at Fordham University in New York. After completing her undergraduate degree, she attended SUNY at Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine, on Long Island, before specializing in pediatric dentistry at Boston Childrens Hospital and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
In fact, Dr. Filocoma and Dr. Wendell both trained together during their post-doctoral pediatric dental residency at Harvard and Childrens Hospital. They have been partners in their Portsmouth office since 1996.
Dr. Joshi joined us after having worked in private practice in Peabody, MA. Prior to that, she taught Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and then attended Columbia University in NYC for her dental school. Upon receiving her DDS, she then completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She and her family reside on the seacoast.
Dr. Natalie is originally from New Jersey, and received her undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College as part of an accelerated program. She attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating at the top of her class. She then did her post-doctoral pediatric dental residency at Yale / New Haven Hospital.
Originally from the neighboring state of Vermont, Dr. Rob attended Stonehill College which is just south of Boston, MA. From there he went to dental school at Boston University and did his Pediatric Dental training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Rob lives on the seacoast with his family.
Dr. Brian is originally from Illinois and attended college at UNC-Charlotte. He completed dental school at Southern Illinois University and then specialized in pediatric dentistry at The University of Oregon. He and his family reside on the seacoast.
Following dental school at Stoney Brook School of Dentistry on Long Island, Dr. Tina went on to complete an Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the University of Connecticut. She is well versed in all aspects of adult dental care from Porcelain Veneers and Implants to crowns and routine dental care. As Dr. Jons wife, she also sees many patients who outgrow the pediatric dental practice as well as the parents of the current patients. This continuity of care is just one more benefit of a team approach to your familys dental care.
Dr. Tina Ho is a cosmetic and family dentist who has been associated with the practice for over 10 years. She was a software engineer with a degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH prior to attending Stony Brook Dental School on Long Island to become a dentist. Following this, she completed an Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the University of Connecticut and had worked in CT before moving to NH when she and Dr. Wendell were married.
She sees many parents of our patients as well as a fair number of our patients who have simply out grown either us or our chairs over time. Originally from Taiwan, Dr. Ho is fluent in Chinese and some of her staff also speak Cantonese. She lives in the Seacoast area with her husband Dr. Wendell and their child.
Just as there are specialists in medicine, there are specialists in dentistry. Orthodontists are dental specialists who dedicate their professional lives to correcting misaligned teeth and jaws. Orthodontists diagnose, treat and prevent dental and facial irregularities. They are uniquely trained to straighten teeth and align jaws.
Dr. Hunter is a native of New Jersey where she completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers College. Upon graduation she was accepted into the Dental School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She continued her education specializing in Orthodontics at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
In 1993, Dr. Hunter moved to New Hampshire and formed a partnership with Dr. Wendell. Together, they established the seacoast area's first pediatric dentistry and orthodontic group practice. Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is dedicated to managing dental as well as orthodontic needs of our patients.
Dr. Hunter lives in the seacoast area with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and going to Red Sox games. Her two dogs Masey and Jake are keeping her busy.
A native of Vermont, Dr. Vincelette did her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont where she majored in Biology. She then went on to Dental School at the University of Pennsylvania. Following this, she chose to specialize in Orthodontics and attended Boston University's School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Masters in Dentistry (Orthodontics).

We recently went to Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry for a laser procedure to help our newborn's tongue tie, and Dr.Brian and staff were amazing! Super friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and kind to this nervous momma! The waiting room was child friendly and fun (including a fun house mirror and life sized TARDIS!) and the entire environment was warm and clean. Good vibes and professional service, all around. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely Awesome, only place I will bring our daughter. She loves everyone she has had the opportunity to see. From Dr Jon, who she first saw her 12 years ago, to all the staff she has seen throughout the years. Most who are still there, I was so impressed with the 3 years she had braces, The Ortho side would remove whatever was necessary to do a proper cleaning just before her appointment and put back on right after the cleaning. I recommend anyone who has a child with anxiety about going to the dentist to go here and be done dealing with that.

My daughter's anxiety is so high, generally speaking, that I avoided taking her to a dentist for a while, as the last time I took her, she hid in a corner the entire time. I could feel the stress of the staff, and the stress of my daughter, and it was too much. But holy smokes! Bringing her here, was a walk in the park on a sunny day. From the moment we walked in, the waiting room had just enough, but too much, stimuli to keep her interested in anything but sitting in a dental chair. Then the angel hygienists, and Dr. Jon...blew me away. She didn't even need me there. She was giggly and happy and relaxed. I honestly couldn't believe it. The people who work here, truly understand children, their needs, and how to meet them where they're at, and because of that, make dental magic happen. Highly recommend, wouldn't go anywhere else. Also, we had to go back, to get a cavity filled, and I was dreading it... but I didn't need to! They were exceptional, patient, and we were in and out in no time. I'd go here if I could.

My family loves this practice. They do a great job when I need to bring my kids in for cleanings. They are kind, efficient and so engaging with the kids, but also take the time to explain anything to me that I need. Today my 6 year old son needed to have a tooth pulled. Dr. Brian and his assistant were fabulous! They put my son at ease, moved quickly and made sure my son hardly noticed the actual event. They are an amazing pediatric office... and my son got a tooth necklace, can it get better than that!?! Thank you!

Dr. Brian was phenomenal today with my eight year old daughter who was terrified to have two baby teeth pulled out. Right from the start he was so kind and patient with her. He made the experience as fun as it could possibly be and had many clever ways to distract her during the tough spots. He was definitely a pro. She left with zero fear of the dentist and will be happy to return. The hygienist who worked with her was also incredible! I am so grateful for them and how well they cared for my daughter. Can't say enough good about Portsmouth pediatric dentistry. From beginning to end the whole experience is great. The front desk staff is welcoming and helpful. I saw Dr. Brian with my 7 week old for a tongue and lip tie. They were thorough and kind through the whole process. It's scary bringing your infant into any procedure but they took all the fear out of it. Your family is in good hands here!

The absolute BEST place you could take your kiddos. The hygienists and Dr. McGuire are truly incredible at what they do. They're full of energy, patient, knowledgeable and caring. They've certainly found their calling. The front staff are so, so sweet. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Dr. McGuire and Abby = Dream Team It was honestly impressive to watch such a caring and knowledgeable team take care of my son. Two extractions and even with new patient paperwork we were in and out in 25m. Nothing but local anesthetic and my son didn't even feel pain. I'm truly thankful, amazed, and wish we had found this practice sooner.

WOW is the best word other then grateful to describe our experience at Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry! Dr. Jon and Abby were an absolute dream team. When you hear the word cavity as a parent your blood pressure rises and the panic sets in. All I have to say is that my 7 year old daughter said multiple times during her filling "This is Fun!" Dr. Jon and Abby kept her engaged, entertained, and aware of every step. Not once did she act scared, in pain or even uncomfortable. Dr. Jon had us both giggling. It was shockingly quick even though her cavity needed a little more TLC then usual. After they were finished all the "fun" Dr. helped with my parenting shame and set my mind more at ease about her dental health. We couldn't have has a better experience!! My daughter is even looking forward to her next visit! Thank you so much Dr. Jon and Abby!!

Everyone here is so kind, accommodating and professional, with great follow up. Dr. Jon took great care of our infant for her first procedure, we felt educated and comfortable, and made sure to check in after, and make a follow up appointment. We were in great hands. I brought my son in yesterday to have a cavity filled. This was his first time having this done in the office and he was very nervous. My son is autistic and needs everything explained to him and he is very sensitive to somethings. I didn't even have to explain this to Dr. Jon, he just went above and beyond to keep my son distracted and explained everything perfectly which put him at ease. We have been to a few dentists in our area before coming here about 5 years or so ago but they were not good. We travel an hour to come here and I have been extremely happy every time we go it makes it totally worth it! Before coming here the I dreaded bringing my son to the dentist and now he looks forward to it. I couldn't ask for a better dentist! All of the staff and doctors are great! All of my 4 children love going!
