Family dentist Minh D. Nguyen, DDS, brings over a decade of experience in general, preventive, and cosmetic dentistry to Portrait Dental. As the owner and medical director of Portrait Dental, he proudly serves men, women, and families throughout in and around Katy, Texas.
Dr. Nguyen began his professional education at the University of Houston in Texas, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology. He subsequently enrolled in the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Nguyen proudly holds membership in the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He regularly participates in ongoing education to stay current on the latest technologies and procedures in dentistry. This passion for oral health care ensures that all of his patients receive the best possible treatment.
Dr. Nguyen offers a warm, welcoming, and calming office environment. He uses digitally-driven care to provide the best possible results, helping patients achieve straighter, healthier, and more beautiful smiles.
Dr. Nguyen works with people of all ages, from small children and teenagers to adults and seniors. He offers a full range of general, preventive, and restorative treatment options, including dental exams, implant restorations, smile makeovers, orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, teeth whitening, and all-ceramic veneers. For patients with dental anxiety, Dr. Nguyen also offers oral sedation.
He sets aside plenty of time to spend with each new patient and listens to their unique concerns and goals for treatment. After conducting a thorough exam and interview, Dr. Nguyen develops care plans to align with each individuals unique needs.
When he isnt working with patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, their two children, and their little rescue dog Rusty. He enjoys digital photography, hence the practices Portrait Dental namesake. Dr. Nguyen is also a major tennis fan. Its on his bucket list to attend all of the Grand Slam title events.

In all my years of working with dentists, I have not found one with as good of a bedside manner as I have with Dr. Nguyen. His staff was warm and welcoming to my children. Dr. Nguyen addressed my concerns for their oral health and even took care of their treatment needs on the same day! If you are looking for a caring, gentle and competent dentist, look no further, Dr. Nguyen is your guy!

This is my first time visiting portrait dental. Unfortunately, they triggered my anxiety with dental visit again. It took them 1 hr for the X-ray, which is quite uncomfortable. They also refused my request for a routine cleaning unless I do deep cleaning! I had bad experience of deep cleaning before (somewhere else) and really trying to avoid it. The doctor did not even come to have a conversation to understand my concern, but just asked the front desk to say direct "no".

Dr Minh Nguyen is a consummate professional. He gave me a thorough exam, took the time to explain the status of my teeth, aided by x-ray images and color photos clearly displayed right in front of me, and proceeded with the treatments expertly. Delilah performed the cleaning meticulously and with such care and dedication. Freda ably assisted me throughout, including taking just the necessary number of x-rays. Rita and Jennifer checked me in/out with flawless efficiency and provided me with the treatment plan promptly. The office is clean, modern, and well equipped. The entire operation, led by Dr Nguyen at the helm, is highly professional, competent, and courteous. I left my first visit feeling highly impressed and satisfied.

My experience was exemplary! Dr. Nguyen is always great! He is professional, personable, and a partner in my dental health. Today, my Hygienist was Delilah and she did such a good job with my cleaning, I've asked for her on my next visit. The front desk staff are kind and courteous too!
